I want Lamont to win the Senate seat.  If Lieberman stands as the only credible alternative to Lamont, Republicans in the state may vote for Lieberman.  

If there is a legitimate alternative with Republican appeal to Lieberman and Lamont, that should peel votes from Lieberman to Lamont's benefit.

Lowell Weicker dislikes Lieberman.  If he would run, even as a write-in, he could pick up enough votes to help Lamont win in November.

I'd at least like to see one of the polling outfits poll what would happen if Weicker were to enter the race.
