I recently came across this piece on CNN's website, and it chilled my blood to think that it could be true:


But as the Social Security debate continues to unfold, do not underestimate President Bush's ability to still get his ideas enacted. Indeed, even without broad Congressional or public support, President Bush just may have an ace up his sleeve. How might he enact his private accounts idea without such support, you may ask? By executive order.  (Emphasis mine.)

This about says it all.  Too funny, and really, it's all the Republican National Committee deserves for putting one of my favorite animals in their scummy attack ads.

I still can't believe the RNC didn't see the backlash from the "Puppies" ad.  Talk about short-sighted.

Secret US Prison in Jordan??

You know, I was wondering where Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was after his very public arrest in March 2003.  Guess this might answer the question.

Jordan has strongly denied an Israeli newspaper report that senior al-Qaeda suspects are being held at a secret US interrogation facility in the country.

Nice to know that our administration is hewing to the Geneva Convention at all times.  (Please note heavy use of sarcasm.)  I'm sure that Usama bin Laden and his cronies won't use this as a recruitment tool.  Nice to see that the War on Terror© is going along nicely.

No more than two days after he painted John Kerry as a "tax-and-spend liberal" (geez, they still use that line?!?!?), President Bush ran into a world of hurt as the debt ceiling was reached.  His solution?  Raid the civil service retirement fund.
