Ruby Ridge All Over Again

Tue Jun 19, 2007 at 08:49:54 PM PDT

Tax protesters Ed and Elaine Brown's home has been surrounded by an army of federal and local police. Their friend Dan Riley has already been shot at, seemingly with intent to kill, and then he was tasered after he surrendered.   My friend Reg posted this on a music site, it's the only place I've seen these two videos.  A tragedy is in the offing. Mr and Mrs Brown have vowed that they will not be arrested for violating a law that they don't believe exists. Let's hope it doesn't end like the others.  The link to the video is after the fold.

US Attorney Scandal For Dummies

This is me trying to explain why this is such a big deal to a recalcitrant Bush Fanboy.

Try to picture the "Theme From Barney Miller" playing.  Or maybe some Italian comedy music.

Frist Finances Called Into Question

Mon Jun 13, 2005 at 11:50:43 AM PDT

{ED} this link-posting thingie is yet another intelligence test that i am failing. Sorry for the mess. http://ajc.printthis.clickability.com/pt/cpt?action=cpt&title=Frist%27s+finances+questioned& expire=&urlID=14521810&fb=Y&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ajc.com%2Fnews%2Fcontent%2Fnews%2Fstori es%2F0605%2F12frist.html&partnerID=552

(Sorry if I do this wrong--bit of a newbie here)

The long and short of it appears to be that Frist took money out od his campaign, put it in the stock market. lost it, and then failed to report.  Apparently illegal.

Washington -- Election Day 2000 was five months off, but Bill Frist was already in an enviable position. With a fat campaign war chest and only token opposition in what he had decided was his last race for the U.S. Senate, Frist could turn his attention to grander plans.

Frist began focusing on raising record amounts of cash for other Republicans. But while he was picking up political IOUs that could aid him greatly in a run for president in 2008, his own campaign finances took a sharp, and in some ways baffling, turn for the worse.

I'm On George Bush's Ipod!

One can't choose one's family, and one can't choose where your music ends up, but this one takes the cake.  The thought of this
fratitudinous errand-boy of the anti-christ pedalling aimlessly, working up a nice cardio rush, and listening to me sing about my friend's dead little boy makes me want to... I dont know, start doing death metal, or something.  Wierdly, I'd dedicated an album about 12 years ago to his father, and some other hackular hegemons (in the hope that they'd all be tortured in hell for all eternity), and had been accused by the Nat Review (I think) of being a KGB dupe.  I never thought I'd miss the days of the whiny fraud George Sr., but his spawn has actually made that a muted reality.

Anyway, thank you all for being here.  I think the work that's being done here is hugely inspiring, and actually gives me a degree of hope that we may finally accomplish something I'd long ago stopped believing was possible: to Create Democracy In America Today!

My hat's off to all of you who participate, and here's to our American Solidarnosc!
