Stratfor turning against Bush

Tue Jan 11, 2005 at 06:54:02 AM PDT

I saw this at Andrew Sullivan's blog.

The issue facing the Bush administration is simple. It can continue to fight the war as it has, hoping that a miracle will bring successes in 2005 that didn't happen in 2004. Alternatively, it can accept the reality that the guerrilla force is now self-sustaining and sufficiently large not to flicker out and face the fact that a U.S. conventional force of less than 150,000 is not likely to suppress the guerrillas. More to the point, it can recognize these facts: 1. The United States cannot re-engineer Iraq because the guerrillas will infiltrate every institution it creates. 2. That the United States by itself lacks the intelligence capabilities to fight an effective counterinsurgency. 3. That exposing U.S. forces to security responsibilities in this environment generates casualties without bringing the United States closer to the goal. 4. That the strain on the U.S. force is undermining its ability to react to opportunities and threats in the rest of the region. And that, therefore, this phase of the Iraq campaign must be halted as soon as possible.

The Media's Double Standards

Mon Nov 22, 2004 at 06:55:43 PM PDT

you could take this article, currently the top story on CNN's front page:
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/11/22/ukraine....
and replace nearly every incident with a similar American one.

But an exit poll, conducted under a Western-funded program, gave Yushchenko 54 percent of the vote to Yanukovych's 43 percent.

compared to: Kerry's exit polls in swing states More below the fold....

What am I missing in Orange County?

Mon Nov 08, 2004 at 04:05:59 AM PDT

Pointed out at another forum is Orange County Florida.  Now Kerry managed to scrape together a win here.  But let's look at totals:

Orange County Federal Election Spreadsheet.

You'll have to use Internet Explorer for this page to work.  Go to line 271 on the spreadsheet, then for each column hit the 'autosum'(greek looking 'E') button then press enter.  Numbers below fold...

Revisit to O'Dell (Diebold - Ohio)

Wed Nov 03, 2004 at 05:36:32 AM PDT

Over these anxious days, lets not forget this little quote from Walden O'Dell, the Chief Executive of Diebold during a Republican fundraiser in 2003.
"[I am] committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to (President Bush) next year."

Is he fulfilling this promise?
Lets make sure that the media knows of this 'promise' made by the owner of Diebold.  Makers of polling machines without paper trails.  Let's take a page from the republican play book and muddy this up some.

Microsoft forgets Poland

Thu Oct 14, 2004 at 07:52:50 PM PDT

This was pointed out to me at another forum.  Microsoft forgot Poland!

This is not a photoshop, but a screenshot of Windows XP timezone settings.  If you look where Poland should be, there is only water.  Check it out for yourselves, I'm running Service Pack 2, but I don't think that should make a difference.  I have heard some earlier versions of windows don't have this 'problem'.
