Get Used to Saying "President Barack Obama"

Wed May 14, 2008 at 08:03:23 AM PDT

Get Used to Saying "President Barack Obama". And contemplate "First Lady Michelle Obama".

We are going to be seeing their faces on the covers of newspapers and magazines for years. News shows will have segments on President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and those cute Obama kids, too.

It's already happening, the old order is failing by the day.

I, for one, look forward to never seeing the whole Smirking Chimp tribe again, with the exceptions of war crimes trial stories, the latest in prison jumpsuits, and perhaps stories of him emptying bedpans at Vets Hospitals.

Who Are We Waiting For?

Fri May 02, 2008 at 05:27:46 AM PDT

There is no politician who can reverse all the damage done by the W.armonger misadministration without 'We, The People..." behind them.

Our votes... millions of them... will be required.

If you want to see an end to the Clinton primary hijack plan you should NOT be waiting for somebody else to act.

Come out LOUD and PROUD and post that you are going to vote for Barack Obama in November NO MATTER WHAT. The Democratic Party 'Elders' need to know conclusively that Obama voters will NOT be staying home, they will NOT be voting for McCain.

Barack Obama supporters need to MAKE IT CLEAR that they will be voting for President Obama NO MATTER WHAT the so-called 'SuperDelegates' do.

Hillary is relying on the vast numbers of Democratic voters who have pledged to 'support the Democratic Party candidate no matter who they are" to convince the so-called 'SuperDelegates' that she can steal the nomination and that WE can be convinced to go along with the theft of OUR primary.

My answer is NO! I am voting for Barack Obama in November NO MATTER WHAT!

"If You Are Defending, You Are Losing..."

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 07:10:17 AM PDT

This is a rather famous political dictum attributed to Karl Rove along with "Attack Your Opponents Strong Points And Make Them Weaknesses".

If you would be president, Barack Obama, you will go back on the offense by talking about the needs of the American people. OUR NEEDS are not being addressed by the media questions about a retired minister instead of how we get millions of children healthcare.

The Reverend is old news and you should just say so... and then talk about the future. Visualize what an Obama presidency will be like.

Enough responding to media attacks, call them for what they are and get back to work for "We, The People...", sir!

Pivot with "Wright is OLD NEWS... now ask me a question about things important to the American people... like healthcare, the economy, or the war."

"Reverend Wright? OLD NEWS - Next question."

"Reverend Wright? I have said my piece on him. Next Question? An important one this time, maybe?"

If the questioners re-ask about Reverend Wright, just ask for another question from another questioner. You should be slapping the media's noses with:

"Don't you folks have any important questions? If not, I am going to move on to letting American citizens ask the questions important to them instead."

Why Are We Babbling About Rev. Wright?

Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 07:34:00 AM PDT

Will the exaltation of Rev. Wright fill one child's belly?

Will the damnation of Rev. Wright get one child healthcare?

Will the exhaltation of Rev. Wright move the USA off of fossil fuels?

Will the damnation of Rev. Wright stop one foreclosure?

Then why in the crap are we babbling like idiots about an irrelevancy at the behest of the Corporate Numbskull Networks?

If we want to 'take sides' on something could we please make it about something important to OUR NATION'S WELFARE?

Come November... I Am Voting For Barack Obama

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 03:02:34 PM PDT

When the time comes to vote, I ALWAYS do.

And this November, I AM GOING TO VOTE for President Barack Obama.

EVEN if he is not the Democratic Candidate.

In all honesty, I am not going to vote for a Republican again in my lifetime.

But I AM going to vote for Barack Obama THIS TIME.

The 'rubes' can promise to vote for 'whomever the Dem Nominee may be', and help let this cruel charade continue... however I am going to vote for my President -- Barack Obama!

I am VOTING for Barack Obama and NOBODY ELSE !!!

The Democratic 'Elders' can worry about the results of overturning the will of the people, I don't give a shit one way or the other.

NO MATTER WHAT... SO HELP ME GOD!

PA Primary Over... Obama Moves ON!

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 06:36:23 AM PDT

Obama closed the gap considerably in PA, and only lost by under 10 points.

Some Hillary folks crow about the 'Huge Victory' and some other Obama folks are 'in the dumps'.

But Barack Obama is not Achilles hiding in his tent! Where did Barack Obama give his speech last night?

In one of the next primary states... OF COURSE!

My wife beat me to the Barack Obama page to make a donation to his campaign... darn it! She found a matching donor so Barack Obama got two donations! Most of the time we just match each other, but now we want more dollars for OUR President.

That wife of mine is so smart, I'm doing the same thing!

I am looking for a matching $50 donor... who's with me?

YES! WE! CAN!

This is our country and we are taking it back!

Whistling as You Work, er, CAUCUS!

Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 01:16:37 PM PDT

I live in California, and although the state as a whole went for Clinton in the Dem Primary, I am proud that two of the three deleagates in my district are Obama delegates.

So, I am whistling as I get ready to go down to caucus for those two delegates, because I am proud to do my lit bit for President Obama!

I am a middle-aged white guy and I am proud to be voting and caucusing for the Barack Obama.

Anything I can do to help Hillary remain in the Senate is a GOOD THING! Unlike the folks who regard Hillary as a total spoiler, I regard her as well suited to a career in the Senate!

Hi-Ho... Hi-Ho... It's off to caucus I GO!

I Don't Know About You, But...

Sat Mar 29, 2008 at 05:57:32 PM PDT

I don't mind if Hillary stays in the race...

I DO mind CRAP like "McCain has Met the C-in-C Threshold and Obama has not" and other such stupid political Bushit!

I think that Hillary's sudden moderation this week has been because some super-delegates made it clear they are going to declare for Obama in large numbers if she keeps that Bushit up.

The small number of supers who have endorsed Obama this past week have been the 'public' side of the private message to the Clinton campaign.

No proof, no insider tip... just campaign watching for some 30 years...

The Clinton campaign decided to try threatening a Kamikaze dive on the USS Democratic Party and the ack-ack opened up to drop the plane in the ocean in a near miss.

Let Hillary become Majority Leader in the Senate! I'd like to see her tearing up the Republican opposition instead of other Democratic party members.

Maybe she could even change her mind about whether lobbyists represent the American people instead of inhuman inherently immoral corporate leeches.

State Has a 'Seating Problem", No Super-Delegates

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 07:00:27 AM PDT

This is not a new idea, but even if a state delegation gets seated under some formula as mentioned on the Front Page, NONE of that state's superdelegates should get seated.

We know that these shenanigans are coming from the elitists. We should do away with super-delegates period.

Why just punish the voters in any state that cheats? The superdelegates from states that violate the DNC calendar should NOT get seated in ANY case under ANY formula.

If the Super-Delegates pay a price for violating the rules, there will be no more violations, and we all know it.

Follow the rules or you are OUT!

RMD: Why... Is It NO Suprise?

Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 10:07:25 AM PDT

The corporatist Dems like Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer have been... a disappointment. But that is no suprise, to anybody old enough to start getting an allowance from Mom and Dad. A youngster finds out that Mom and Dad want something for their money. A clean room maybe? The garbage taken out? Car or dog washed?

Now just look at the corporatist Dem paymasters... Rupert Murdoch gave Hillary Clinton money and... no suprise... she attacks other Democrats just like FAUX NEWS. Many of us regard this as being a "Traitor to the Party", but... she is just earning her allowance.

Zell Miller? Joe Lieberman? It's nothing personal. We don't pay their bills and we let other people buy them goodies.

Walk down through the list of heavy funders of the corporatist Dem "Rogue's Gallery", and you see the same names. It's amusing to watch all the 'Sturm and Drang' distractions concocted by the Money Party to keep us occupied while discussing Single-Payer Healthcare, getting out of Iraq, the economic crisis and lowering standards of living are carefully swept under the rug.

The 'Opinion Mercenaries" have the upper hand the longer we talk about 'their issues' instead of ours.

RMD: How To Get Some REFORM in Washington, DC

Mon Dec 04, 2006 at 08:23:58 AM PDT

Most military experts will tell you that a good way to destroy an army is to engage it in a frontal assault on a well-prepared defensive position. Sometimes as in "Pickett's Charge" (thousands charged, hundreds came back) the defensive position doesn't even have to be all that well prepared, just firmly defended.

A political example of "Pickett's Charge" would be "Let's take away all the oil company's tax breaks!" The oil, war and pharma lobbies have discovered the addresses of the Dem replacements of the DeLay K Street strip miners and are preparing their defensive positions as I write this.

So I will say it plainly, this should be our strategy: "We are not taking away anything; we are changing the results expected."

How to implement this strategy? Make the jump...

RMD: Danny DeVito on 'The View'

Fri Dec 01, 2006 at 06:58:39 AM PDT

I saw a lot of clips from Danny DeVito on 'The View' yesterday, but I don't recall reading much about it here.

There was some commentary about Danny being somewhat 'in the bag' from a night of carousing with George Clooney. However, even with slightly slurred speech it was 'en Vino, Veritas', at least to me.

Danny spoke about being at the White House during the last 'stint' of the Clinton administration, but stated he had not been there during 'numbnuts' which was of course bleeped over the 'nuts' portion. To make his point even more clear, he stumbled over some words and generally did a great imitation of the Bushiter 'on a good day'.

Was Rahmbo Lame Last Night on TDS or What?

Tue Nov 28, 2006 at 09:11:54 AM PDT

My lovely bride and I TIVO the Daily Show every night along with Keith Olbermann and the Colbert Report. Anyway I was hoping to see if Rahmbo had anything interesting to say, but he was just peddling his book, 'The Plan'.

Rahmbo was gracious enough to accept acclaim for winning the Democratic House, but did not tell us much about 'The Plan' other than to say it included a raise in the minimum wage. Imagine having a platform as powerful as TDS and then putting everybody to sleep.

Hack, hack, cough, hack.

RMD: Good Government is Good Politics

Fri Nov 24, 2006 at 12:34:08 PM PDT

So goes the old saw. However, are the corporatists well on the way to throttling it in the manger? Did one election 'fix things' or are we going to be now fighting a two front war against a corporatist Rethug minority and a corporatist-led Dem Majority?

First, we get 'impeachment is off the table'. All the work exposing the lies, disinformation, and thuggery involved with getting the Bushiter's War on, well, just 'get over it', OK?

Second, we get Steny Hoyer as Minority Whip. The Steny Hoyer post at Firedoglake is eye-popping. We are getting a K Street strip mine operator as second in the US House of Representatives. Hmmmm, what kind of national heathcare package or Medicare Part D reform are we going to get, do ya think?

Now, the Harmon/Hastings - a false choice, both are compromised by their lack of ethical stature.

It sounds to me like the Blog Oversight Hearings are going to need to be called as soon as the Pelosi 100 Hours are over. Let's remember they work for us.

RMD: Happy Thanksgiving, Ned, Cindy, Mrs Kos and Herbie!

Thu Nov 23, 2006 at 06:48:30 AM PDT

My Thanksgiving best wishes go out to to fearless patriots.

Best Wishes to Ned Lamont, for taking on Joe Lieberman the Faux News troll, and for helping set the table for so many progressives. For you I give thanks.

Best Wishes to Cindy Sheehan, who had the courage to camp out in front of the Bushiter's Ranch and ask the question 'For what noble cause?'

Also, my thanksgiving best for Mrs. Kos, Markos' manager and friend. It was she who said (paraphrasing), "Quit complaining, do something..." from which the Daily Kos sprang.

Finally, my very best wishes and highest respects to Herbie. Who, you say? Well, Herbie, is my father-in-law. A 91 year old Pearl Harbor survivor and father of my darling bride, Mrs. RMD. He is in a hospital bed with a broken hip after falling. He worked out 6 days a week and I am sure he is raring to get out of bed and get back on the treadmill.

RMD: Why 'STFU' or 'Clap Louder' is Bad for Dems

Wed Nov 22, 2006 at 06:55:03 AM PDT

We have just come back from a real life demonstration of why 'Shut the Fark Up' and/or 'Clap Louder' is bad for a political organization. We have just seen the sad effect on the country of twelve years of unremitting defense of Republican greed, stupidity and cupidity.

One of the winning messages for Dems in this election cycle was 'We need to restore OVERSIGHT to the government!' And it is indisputably true.

But let's not forget that the Dems were driven from power by what exactly? Well, it was ignoring and covering for Democratic greed, stupidity and cupidity. Oh, yes, and a large dose of lazy incompetent consultants and leaders.

With this in mind, let's ask a few questions, shall we?

RMD: A Possible 'Impeachment' Deal

Fri Nov 10, 2006 at 08:02:07 AM PDT

I had a thought this morning on a possible deal on impeachment that might satisfy the Bipartisans and the Partisans.

We make it clear that in 2009 we will be expediting to the Hague all officials who have taken part in breaking international law, and/or the laws of the United States including any that may have been pardoned by the President making them invulnerable to US law.

We could even offer up those who have been given the Medal of Freedom.

We could also offer to fund their trials if they will be tried under the rules of evidence provided by US federal law, possibly including the Military Commissions Act as it stands on election day 2008.

I believe this position could go far to engage cooperation in rolling back the worst of the Republican depredations of the rule of law in our besmirched country.

I don't see the Rethugs wanting to be tried by their own system of law and evidence, do you?

RMD: Today's The Day -- Carpe Diem

Tue Nov 07, 2006 at 06:55:16 AM PDT

Well, today is the day we have been waiting for. Let's take over the government -- the way our founders intended. Legally, honorably and irrefutably.

I am preparing to hand deliver my Permanent Absentee Voter ballots to the Registrar of Voters Office as I always do, and I am satisfied that my vote on my paper ballot will be auditable should the need arise.

My Congressional District, which includes Napa, CA, is held by Mike Thompson, a blue dog Democrat who will be re-elected handily so I have been working other campaigns. The California races I have concentrated on have been Jerry McNerney's race to retire Pombo and the Charley Brown's race to bounce Doolittle. My fingers are crossed for both of them.

Tomorrow we will be owning the House and maybe the Senate!
