Jack Cafferty: Roe v. Wade Destroyed The Good ol' Days (UPDATE)
Sat Apr 23, 2005 at 11:22:12 AM PDT
I don't have to tell you that our media is *uck*ed up but today Jack Cafferty lost it on his weekly show 'Inside the Money' when he tried to spin Roe v. Wade as the destroyer of the "good ol' days".
GOPers like Cafferty seem to believe that the "good ol' days" are behind us but lets not forget that these are the same people that think the world will end within our lifetime...
My rush transcript (video is below the fold):
CAFFERTY: What are the implications for the way politics tends to crossbreed with the kinds of trends we're talking about? The most recent presidential election in this country was, according to a lot of the exit polls driven by values and morals and the seeming thirst among the voting populace for a return to the good ol' days, pre Roe v. Wade perhaps.
DEMBLoggers

I personally have been running a website for sometime over at UnitedLeft. Due to the ongoing turmoil in politics I have, with some help from one of my contributors, decided to start a new site.
So I would like to announce to everyone DEMBloggers. To start out DEMBloggers is an unaffiliated site. DEMBloggers is a scoop site so everyone should be familiar with it. While we are not competing with Daily Kos, you will see some similarities. But, while the similarities will be there you will notice some differences.
Our Democratic Message...
Sun Mar 13, 2005 at 03:30:37 PM PDT
Thomas Vinciguerra over at the
NYTimes says that all revolutions need a color. He gives us a few examples.
Lately, it seems, you can't have a decent political upheaval unless you color it in. The pro-democracy movement that recently swept Ukraine was famously known as the Orange Revolution, after its emblematic hue. When Iraqi voters dipped their fingers in purple ink last month to signify that they had cast their ballots, President Bush declared a Purple Revolution.
Okay, great. So how does this relate to our revolution as bloggers aimed at reforming our party, our country and our media?
In recent years the media has established that the two national parties will be represented by the colors red and blue. The Democrats will carry (no pun intended) the color blue and the Republicans will bear the color red. These colors are rarely used in public and simply serve as a graphical device to monitor each party's dominance in one state or another. Maybe a universal party color isn't the best idea but what I'm really hinting at is that we need a universal party message.
Sen. Lindsey Graham: SC Still Hasn't Gotten Over Lincoln
Mon Mar 07, 2005 at 06:57:47 PM PDT
From
RAW STORY
Senator Lindsey Graham has ignited a new furor in Washington over comments he made over the weekend referring to his state's difficulty in "getting over" President Abraham Lincoln, with apparent reference to Lincoln's role in the civil war and the freeing of American slaves, RAW STORY has learned.
"We don't do Lincoln Day Dinners in South Carolina," Senator Graham told a Lincoln Day gathering in Tennessee Saturday. "It's nothing personal, but it takes awhile to get over things."
You don't need me to tell you that these remarks were wrong and offensive. Graham's contact info is below the fold.

Hello Kossacks, I'm Mark Williams and I've been a Dkos reader for over two years. I was here when Dean was at the top and I was here when Dean was taken down. I was here on election night when all seemed lost and I was here on Feb. 12 when Chairman Dean took the reigns. I have seen the power of the blogosphere and the compassion of so many Kossacks.

The 20/20 Interview
Fri Jan 14, 2005 at 10:17:35 PM PDT
ABC aired the Barbara Walters interview with Dubya on Friday night and Bush was as "plain folk" (dumb) as ever. I compiled a short video that hits on the major topics of the interview. I added some commentary in the video. You can view it by clicking
here. I have embedded my own commentary within the video and have written my thoughts below the fold.
