DSCC - Fix your web site at once!!
Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 01:02:46 PM PDT
The DSCC claims they now support
Liebermann Lamont, or at least that's what they say on their
top page.
But if you go to their state-by-state map and put your mouse over Connecticut, it still showed Lieberman as the candidate, as of 2:30PM(EDT) on August 9. Here's a screen capture (in case they change it, as I hope they will).
Why is this a big deal? Because anybody looking at the polls could've seen there was a good chance that Ned would win. You shouldn't have to be a rocket scientist to have a contingency plan ready for all necessary changes to the DSCC web site if Ned wins, so you can promptly execute it. This shows how far behind the Dems are in IT applications as compared to the Repubs. C'mon guys, time to get your act together.
Miliary officers - the ultimate check & balance?
Sun Jan 02, 2005 at 05:16:23 AM PDT
The
oath sworn by U.S. military officers is
I (insert name), having been appointed a (insert rank) in the U.S. Army under the conditions indicated in this document, do accept such appointment and do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter, so help me God.
Suppose, hypothetically, that a presidential election was rigged. What should military officers do then? More beneath the fold.
Election Fraud likely to worsen in 2006 and 2008 - NYT
Sun Dec 26, 2004 at 10:46:29 PM PDT
If you thought election fraud (some Kossacks might prefer the term "irregularities") was bad in 2004, brace yourselves. The
New York Times suggests it's probably going to get even worse in 2006 and beyond. More below the fold.
NYT ON ELECTORAL IRREGULARITIES
Mon Dec 20, 2004 at 02:18:58 AM PDT
The New York Times has a dynamite editoral this AM,
Count Every Vote. For a change it's about the irregularities in the US, not the Ukraine. Some highlights below the fold.
The Case against "Fucking Ohio"
Wed Dec 15, 2004 at 01:01:40 AM PDT
DelewareDem's recent diary "FUCK OHIO and GET OFF KOS' BACK" has stirred up a hornet's nest. As I've been writing this there've already been several diaries in response. What I want to here is take all the pro-DD posts on that diary, and explain in turn why I think their arguments should not be accepted. I hope that both those who agree and disagree can keep their posts constructive. Let's not become a circular firing squad.
Below the fold are quotes from the various pro-F.O. posts, and my comments on each.
Breaking News! ABC Nightline on Election Fraud!!!
Fri Dec 10, 2004 at 05:25:48 AM PDT
Tonight ABC Nightline devoted their entire program to a detailed report on election fraud. They had clear video of intimidated voters being prevented from voting. They also had indisputable evidence of pro-administration thugs voting multiple times using phony identities. It really felt good to see an MSM outlet jumping on this issue, at last. Not only that, but it was heartening to see the public outcry from the ripped-off voters who poured out into the streets to show they were mad as hell and just not going to take it any more. More beneath the fold.....
"Sept 10 attitude"? MY ASS!!
Tue Oct 19, 2004 at 06:43:58 AM PDT
The Independent reports as follows:
"Playing to his strongest suit, George Bush went to New Jersey yesterday to promise an unrelenting war on terror and accuse his opponent John Kerry of having a "September 10 attitude" on the critical issue of protecting America."
September 10 attitude!!?? Are we going to let them get away with this!!?? The facts are:
(1) Pres Bush ignored Richard Clarke's pre-9/11 memo "OBL planning attack in US."
(2) Pres Bush spent the summer before 9/11 in Crawford, cutting brush (and eating pretzels?). if he did ANYTHING about terrorism before 9/11 there's no record of it.
(3) Under Pres Bush's handpicked Attorney Genl, John Ashcroft, the FBI did exactly nothing in response to repeated warnings from field agents that suspicious characters were taking flying lessons.
(4) Etc., etc. etc.
How is it that BC04 can have the sheer unmitigated gall to accuse KE04 of a pre-9/11 mentality? And how is it that the DNC, KE04 campaign, and various 527s aren't picking up on this charge and THROWING IT RIGHT BACK IN THE FACE OF BC04? This chance is too good to pass up. Let's have a blitz of commercials, RIGHT NOW! If the unaccountable advantage that public opinion gives BC04 in the fight against terror--this is the last and only thing BC04 has going for them (other than election fraud)--can be wiped out, or substantially lessened, this would be a major victory for the good guys.
Come on! let's go!!
Voter Reg: Pattern of Repub abuse?
Fri Oct 15, 2004 at 05:37:25 AM PDT
The voter registration scandals in Oregon and Nevada are centered about Nathan Sproul, who is documented to have received significant funds from the Republican national Committee. This is clearly a major violation, but it still involves only one person, so the RNC can argue this was just an isolated incident. In order to take this story further it is necessary to show a pattern of absuse centered on the RNC. If we can do this, it will become a much bigger story, so I think the search for a pattern is extremely important.
I believe I am starting to find such a pattern (see below), but I'd like to ask some people to help me (3 volunteers, in particular). Here's what I've done so far. All expenditures by RNC (or DNC) have to be filed, and these are available for search on the Open Secrets web site. I searched the entire site for "voter reg" and there are 429 matches, of which I've done the 1st hundred. These are lists of payments for "voter reg" services made (in 98 of the 1st 100 cases) by RNC. Unfortunately only one recipient at a time comes up, so it's a bit tedious. Of the first hundred matches, a Google search shows that two of them (Tom Bader--also Bader&Associates, presumably the same person-- and The Tartan Group) were involved in past controversial practices in gathering of signatures for petitions (see below). If this pattern holds up, a check of the whole data base should turn up another 6 such matches. With this many, it will be harder for the Repubs to wriggle off the hook, and also harder for the media to play down this story.
Other names that came up (omitting county republican committees and the like) were Joel Olsson, Lee Neves, Kenneth Campbell, Carl Schmidt, Charmaine Tyrell, Tracy Leach, Tio Tachias, Brett Rodriguez, and jack Sargent. A Google search on these people came up with no evidence of any problems whatsoever, but just in case some of you have run accross their names I list them here.
If there are three volunteers out there, please sign up for searching items 101-200, 201-300, and 301-end. (If people don't coordinate in advance there will be duplicated effort.) All you have to do is search those entries (say 101-200) and then Google the names you come up with, and post them. The extended entry (below) gives the details on Tom Bader and the Tartan group. It's disappointing that the Party of Lincoln has fallen to such depths.
