I just saw Joe Scarborough go bananas about Bill O'Lielly asking David Letterman and Rosie O'Donnell "Do you want the U.S. to win in Iraq? Yes or No?"

Sorry for the short Diary. I don't write often (just rants) but this one REALLY got to me.

Below....

How long would they have been waiting on top of a flooded building had they been young, pretty WHITE girls?

Would the hate-wing media still consider it "their (the victims) own fault" had those been the discarded corpes of WHITE babies floating down I-10?

Had the Convention Center been full of Shriners or an American Legion convention, would they still have had to wait 3 days for ANY kind of assistance?

Would the young man who took the bus to rescue himself and many others still be charged with a crime or feted as a self-reliant hero had he been a WHITE kid?

So now, according to the hate-wing, expecting your government to which you pay taxes (no matter HOW poor you are) to help in a time of catastrophe is "an entitlement program"?

Am I "race-baiting" or am I stating the obvious?

I'm sorry if this topic has already made the rounds.

Is this the kind of response we can expect if there was a large-scale terrorist attack like a dirty bomb or chemical weapon? Hell, they were talking about Katrina growing to a Cat 5 storm on Satuday nite! They weren't sure if it was going to remain there, but would be at least a Cat 4 at landfall. Did they think it was going  away?

Why is it any wonder we as a country are in the crapper? The people who now hold sway are among the stupidest, meanest and most avaricious I could imagine. Looking back into history, it's easy to find like examples, but never before has it become so instituionalized. With the dumbing-down of the public education and the rise of the christian madrassas and their home-grown ayatollahs and other "spiritual leaders", it's easy to see the trend developing here. I for one am not confident we will not see another period like the one prior to Prohibition when the close alliance of the Ku Klux Klan and the religious conservatives and evangelicals actually took control of several state governments either openly (like Indiana) or covertly (like Georgia and Ohio).
