On this important day, a favor to ask....
Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 12:54:52 PM PDT
I know everyone here is concentrating on Pennsylvania and the results due to come in starting at 8 pm, but I need a favor.
A friend of mine is asking for signatures on an important petition designed to support the JDRF's Promise to Remember Campaign. Nearly every other congressmen in NJ has agreed to meet with the JDRF, but so far, Congressman Smith (R) 4th district has refused. This petition is meant to (gently) encourage Congressman Smith to take the meeting. Obviously we're hoping this gentle request will be taken seriously.

My apologies for the brevity of this diary, but Tuesdays are Mr. Mom day for me. I saw this on Real Clear Politics and thought I'd share with the rest of you.....
Clinton's lead in the Real Clear Politics poll of polls is down to just 6.1% with 2 weeks to go.

Meet Me in Mississippi
Wed Mar 05, 2008 at 07:08:36 PM PDT
Enough is enough. Enough with Hillary getting to decide which states matter. Enough with Hillary getting to decide whether it's the momentum or the math that matters. Enough with Hillary getting to move the goal posts, change the rules.
It's time Barack Obama got in front of a microphone and said the following, "Senator Clinton, if you think you're momentum is so impressive, MEET ME IN MISSISSIPPI!"

Somber Clinton Soldiers On...from NYT...with Poll on her future
Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 05:09:57 AM PDT
Patrick Healy has written a piece for this morning's NY Times that is devastating to the Clinton campaign. To sum it up, she thinks it's over....
Please read to the bottom where I write about Hillary's future......

Make some calls now for Obama-- WI, HI need you!
Tue Feb 19, 2008 at 02:13:47 PM PDT
I'll keep this brief. Imagine how you will feel, assuming you are an Obama supporter, if the headlines after the polls close tonight are
"Clinton stops momentum.... Campaign straightens itself out.... Portends good things for Ohio and Texas... Comeback in progress"
Or any variation thereof.
There's still time.....
250,000 Before Midnight for Obama (with Poll)
Thu Jan 31, 2008 at 12:50:05 PM PDT
Let's show the Obama campaign what we can do. I know a lot of folks here have been loyal Edwards supporters, and I respect that. For those among us who are now solidly in the Obama camp, the time has come to help. Wouldn't it be great if we were the ones that got him to his goal?
I got this email today from the Obama campaign (snip)
Zogby poll out: Gore LEADS Blind Poll
Wed Oct 31, 2007 at 07:26:20 PM PDT
Well, here it is. The poll many of us have been discussing, which clearly shows Mr. Gore could immediately impact this race.

Call to Action: Stem Cell Vote in New Jersey, Nov. 6, 2007
Tue Oct 30, 2007 at 06:55:58 AM PDT
New Jersey voters are set to decide whether or not they support state funded stem cell research. With federal funding for stem cell research severely limited because of President Bush's veto, it is up to private industry and individual states to carry the torch of hope on this issue. NJ is looking to follow in the footsteps of California, and become one of only a few states providing governmental funds for this groundbreaking research.
The referendum is set for:
Tuesday, November 6, 2007.

How much will you donate when Gore enters (w/poll).
Fri Oct 26, 2007 at 07:00:33 PM PDT
I apologize for the short diary, but I think it's important as we head into this last weekend of October to make a point.
There are still many among us hungering for Al Gore to enter the race and bring a real debate to this nomination fight. A bold agenda centered on saving our planet. Plain and simple.
Many of us have hypothesized on this site how much we think Mr. Gore could immediately raise should he enter the race. Let's take a little poll.
Gore won't be on Michigan ballot. Crap!

Brownback out. who's next? Why we should care- (w/poll)
Thu Oct 18, 2007 at 07:20:05 AM PDT
Believe me, I'm no Sam Brownback fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I do find it interesting that he would decide to get out now. I think it's important for us to follow what's going on within the dark side because it will affect strategy on ours.....
From MSNBC:
Republican Sam Brownback will drop out of the 2008 presidential campaign on Friday, people close to the Kansas senator said Thursday.
Brownback, a longshot conservative contender, had trouble raising money to compete in the race. He is expected announce his withdrawal in Topeka, Kan.
He raised a little more than $800,000 in the third quarter of this year, his lowest quarterly amount since entering race. He has brought in more than $4 million overall and is eligible for $2 million in federal matching funds.
Please Mr. Gore... it's 90 days of sacrifice!
Sun Oct 14, 2007 at 05:14:26 PM PDT
I have been a huge supporter of Al Gore. I firmly believe that he's our best hope of not only winning the presidency in 2008, but of presenting a bold agenda that truly moves our nation towards energy independence while preventing the catastrophe of the climate crisis.
I have argued here repeatedly, here, here, here, here, and here for why Gore needs to be our candidate.
I have to say, if he chooses not to get in, I will be incredibly disappointed, and I have to believe he's doing it for one reason and one reason only, he's afraid.
Help Draft Gore fund an ad in the NY Times
Sun Sep 30, 2007 at 10:28:18 AM PDT
I just got this email in my in-box. Let's help Draft Gore get an ad in the NY Times. We know what kind of impact a bold full page ad in the NY Times can have.......Let's show Gore what the power of this community really is. Many of us have pledged to donate to Gore's campaign once he gets in; let's show him we mean it.

Ambivalent? Am I the only one? (With Poll, incl. Gore)
Sun Aug 26, 2007 at 06:56:31 PM PDT
I wonder if there are others here who feel like I do about 2008. I want a Democrat to win the White House more than just about anything right now in my life. I want it even more than I wanted it in 2000 or 2004, more than I wanted us to take back the Congress in 2006. My problem is, I don't love any of our candidates.....

Every seat must be challenged. A tribute to Arden.

Gore-Bloomberg??? (with Poll?)
Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 05:32:44 PM PDT
Cross-posted at Progressive Intelligencia
Alright, maybe my Gore in '08 fantasies are getting the better of me, and I apologize if this has been diaried elsewhere, but does anyone else think this ticket could be very interesting?
Now, I'm not saying that Gore will leave the Democratic party. I think there is virtually no chance of that happening.
But I do think it's possible that he could enter the race and then tap Bloomberg to be his VP. Personally, I've said for months that Gore-Obama (Gorbama) would be my ticket to beat, but I wonder what a Gore-Bloomberg (Goreberg) ticket would look like.
