Charles Barkley gives bushco a FACIAL (slam dunk in their face)!

Thu Feb 16, 2006 at 06:57:04 PM PDT

At half-time of the nationally televised sixers-bulls game on TNT tonite, Charles Barkley provided some political commentary and blasted bush/cheney on katrina and cheney's shoot 'em up hunting trip. Following is the transcript (I typed from TIVO)

I'm a total sports fanatic, and i've never seen such a blatant political attack during a sports event.  Way to go Charles!!

Oprah stabs Cindy Sheehan in the Back

Wed Oct 26, 2005 at 05:32:20 PM PDT

I am reading the November issue of Oprah magazine, which has a wonderful interview of Cindy Sheehan by the Vagina Monologue's Eve Ensler.

It ends with this quote "How long are we going to keep letting the men kill our children?  I hope it will stop right now."  Seems very enlightened, eh?

However, IN THE SAME ISSUE, is a 2-page ad for the military!  not just any ad, it's about the slickest and sickest military ad i've seen -- it's directed towards mothers!!!!

PLEASE HELP a katrina victim get to NYC

Fri Sep 09, 2005 at 08:40:23 AM PDT

Hi

I volunteered on moveon.org to provide housing to katrina victims and got a response!!  So now i'm trying to figure out how to get this guy from the shelter he's staying in at shreveport, LA to NYC (he's a new yorker who wants to return to his hometown -- he moved to NO after 9/11 because of the stress of the event).  He has his dog with him, so i need to find a way for him to travel that includes his dog, and how to get it paid for.

I don't know how to go about it -- i tried calling fema and red cross -- no luck.  I went to their websites -- no luck.  Can someone give me concrete info of what to do so i can get hime outta there???

rep 9/11 vs dem NO

Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 06:59:31 PM PDT

This is my first attempt at a diary, so forgive me if it's not deemed worthy of a diary, but as a New Yorker who lived through 9/11 (and who works just a few blocks from ground zero), i've noticed some interesting and troubling differences between the response to 9/11 and the response to NOLA.
