The Senate is deciding whether to further debate the budget resolution that narrowly passed in December but is up for reconsideration now because of some mistakes in the bill that passed. The rethugs chastised the dems for trying to delay and obstruct a bill that enjoyed "broad bi-partisan support" the first time around. They used a cutesy metaphor of the movie "Groundhog Day" to indicate that this is just the same debate over and over.

BUT, the dems are NOT rolling over on this. Right now Ted Kennedy is RIPPING into the administration's waging war on the middle class and systematically dismantling the Medicare system. Watch it now!

Quick, watch him! He's calling out the rethugs on many fronts:

• They are trying to BREAK the rules in order to change the rules
  
• My door has always been open, I'm willing and ready to negotiate
  
• Karl Rove has NOT been elected and should not be involved in this decision

Over the past several months, I've become addicted to this blog, to DU, to Air America Radio, and to several other sources of progressive commentary. I have found it reassuring to hear from others who have the same concerns and priorities as me. But lately, there is very little news or commentary that is even remotely reassuring or positive; in fact, it's downright terrifying! My urgent question to you all is this: what can I do to manage this growing panic which is starting to absorb my every waking moment? Normally I am a very calm, rational, optimistic person who takes life's uncertainties pretty much in stride. But as of late, I can't seem to quell this terrible sense of doom. More below the fold...

PLEASE, everyone, we have to find a way to raise the red flag about the massive irregularities that are arising around the e-voting machines in Ohio, Florida, New Mexico, and other key battleground states! You can read about some of the issues in CynicalBrit's diary, but please, let's not just talk to ourselves about this!! HOW can we get the media to talk about even the remote possibility that this election was STOLEN? We absolutely CANNOT let 2000 happen all over again!! If we do, it's quite possible that we will never have a fair election again!!! This is my first diary, and I apologize for my panicked tone, but I can't help it: we're in GRAVE DANGER here. What can I/we do to get the word out???
