At different junctures over the past 24 hours, we've heard that:
 - The National Guard pulled out of the NO Convention Center because of concerns for their safety
 - FEMA pulled out of its boat rescue operations because of concerns for their safety
 - Helicopter rescues, human deliveries, and food and water drops were pulled back because of concerns for their safety

U.S. Senators Held at Siberian Airport for Several Hours

MOSCOW (AP) - Two U.S. senators visiting sites where weapons of mass destruction are being stored were held for several hours Sunday at a Siberian airport while trying to leave Russia, a U.S. Embassy spokesperson said.

Sens. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., were held at the airport in Perm but allowed to leave after discussions between U.S. and Russian officials, the embassy spokesperson said on condition of anonymity.
