Journalism at Its Worst and Who is David Kos?

Tue Aug 07, 2007 at 08:55:12 AM PDT

We have local paper that is published weekly (weakly?) here in upstate NY. It really is just an echo and defense of Bill O'Reilly's attack on the Daily Kos website and it's creator David Kos (sic) (sick).

Examples of the hate-filled posts on this site, which founder David Kos has only recently made any attempt to delete, wanted "so many polyps" to be found on the President Bush's colon "that they eat him alive."

Kansas Bored of Education Gets What They Ask For

Thu Apr 13, 2006 at 06:17:50 AM PDT

Last fall the Kansas Board of Education voted to allow criticisms of the theory of evolution in the classroom. Randy Mousley, a Stucky Middle School teacher used a not so subtle satirical critism in the form of The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM), a creation of Bobby Henderson.

The ACLU hates God and Soldiers...

Wed Sep 14, 2005 at 06:52:16 PM PDT

I received an Email with a picture of soldiers with their heads bowed captioned with the following text:
If you look closely at the picture above, you will note that all the Marines pictured are bowing their heads. That's because they're praying.

This incident took place at a recent ceremony honoring the birthday of the corps, and it has the ACLU up in arms. "These are federal employees," says Lucius Traveler, a spokesman for the ACLU, "on federal property and on federal time. For them to pray is clearly an establishment of religion, and we must nip this in the bud immediately."

Eminent Domain and Rebuilding NOLA

Sat Sep 10, 2005 at 07:57:58 PM PDT

I have this feeling that all the structures will be completely devauled and people will receive "fair market" value for just the (swamp) land. Seems like everything is in place to effect this plan. The evacuees are for from home and establishing new lives. They have no reason to return. They are not allowed to return.

Private ownership will be transferred to developers and the City rebuilt at huge profit for BushCo.... Clear out the old housing, and make the place too expensive for the former residents to live there.

Just a sinking feeling I have.

Keep it Simple.... What Noble Cause?

Fri Aug 26, 2005 at 05:09:58 AM PDT

The movement seems best serve to NOT portray itself as "anti-war", but rather a movement to get an honest and consistent answert to "What Noble Cause?"

Stay on point, define yourself, repeat the message, and engage the media. All this will
(1) Get out the message
(2) Keep it simple
(3) Define the counter protesters as "willing to fight and kill for no reason"

Freedom is NOT America's gift to the World

Thu Aug 25, 2005 at 10:32:06 AM PDT

Freedom is NOT America's gift to the World, freedom is the Creator's gift to every man, woman and child.
    -George W. Bush 8/24/2005

Sounds like BushCo has (re)articulated the Noble Cause..

What Noble Cause? Well, now we know:
To bring our interpretation of God's freedom to every man, woman and child. Starting with Iraq. Exept for the women and children, they will have less freedom than was gifted to them by Saddam.

Oh yea, and less religous freedom. Christians, your brand of paganism is not welcome in GWB's new Isalmic State. I hope the rest of the world is ready for our interpretation of God's Freedom.

Do you hear me, Venezeula? Hehehe... remember, Pat Roberstson meets regularly with BushCo and he is a majoy donor. Do not take his threats lightly. I would be very interested to know what Pat Roberstson knows about the upcoming Chavez visit to NY... very interesting timing, indeed.

/So we killed 100,000 Iraqi in order to deliver God's gift of Freedom? Did it come with a receipt? You know, just in case.

Ask Three Poeple a Day: What Noble Cause?

How ofter does Bush meet with Pat Robertson?

Tue Aug 23, 2005 at 06:09:46 PM PDT

Cindy Sheehan and the rest of America can not get an honest answer to an important question... What Noble Cause.

Yet, this administration seeks private meetings with Pat Robertson. What is the risk to America for George Bush to consort with a man that, among other things, entreats his followers to pray for the death of Supreme Courts Justices.

Watch for the misdirection as the Righties come out to shelter Pat Roberston. I have heard on CNN the repeated meme that "it is not illegal for Pat Roberston to make such claims". As always they are trying to control the message, as with Cindy Sheehan.

Pat Robertson is a dangerous person... dangerous for Americans and America.
What Noble Cause?

What Noble Cause?

Thu Aug 18, 2005 at 12:41:01 PM PDT

All of the attacks on Cindy Sheehan miss the mark. It is important to stay on message and on point.

Yes.. Some people are against war. All war. Any War

I guess, some people will support war. All war. Any war. Horrible as they would be, they are likely to exist.

The rest will support a war. Some war. A war with a Noble Cause.

What is the Noble Cause?

Wed Aug 17, 2005 at 12:44:15 PM PDT

Cindy Sheehan is asking a very simple and yet important question... What is the Noble Cause.

What is the Noble Cause. Ask any Republican. See if you get the same answer twice. That is the real shame here. It is a very simple question that those who so adamently support this War in Iraq should be able to answer.

I will admit, in general, the President should not take the time to answer the questions of every individual citizen. In General.

However, in the case, GWB should should meet with Cindy Sheehan. And not only answer the question for her, but for all Americans. For the whole world. What is the Noble Cause which justifies this War? Since there is no Noble Cause, there is no need to meet with Cindy. If there was a Noble Cause, there would be no downside to meeting with her... just make it public. Very public.

But since there is no Noble Cause, there will be no meeting, public or otherwise.

What is the Noble Cause?

Just answer the question, George. Please.

How does Scottie talk with a straight face? (Daily Press Briefing and the Rove Comments)

It is like reading a daily comic, these WH briefings. Dilbert is alive and stuck in the WH press briefing... here is his report of today's proceedings.

Flash Animation from Last Fall... very relevant

Fri Jun 17, 2005 at 07:29:04 AM PDT

I remember seeing this last year sometime. It is a very moving flash animation in red and black with white text and plenty subliminal messages.

Even if you have seen it before, see it again. It is as powerful and relevant as ever. I would say Pass it along... We need to get angry. How many more must  die to make this man's friend rich? How many?

Thank you and God Bless.

Questions for the Christian Right:

Thu Jun 09, 2005 at 02:47:07 PM PDT

I found the following "letter to the Christian Right". If you have any other Biblical Directives I would be interested in seeing them. And remember, Support Equal Rights for All Americans! God Bless.

I don't Medicare, says Bush

Fri Apr 29, 2005 at 11:48:56 AM PDT

The President has finally revealed some details for His plan to address Social Security insolvency. His plan, in short, is Private Accounts. The establishment of private accounts will not in itself, according to the President, will not address the solvency issue but will none the less require tax increases to pay for the $2 Trillion in start up cost for the first 10 years.

The President has been holding town hall meeting for His faithful followers to assure them He knows best. His town hall meetings have been less than successful due to the lack of substance. The failure of the meetings to convert the followers necessitated the Nationally televised press conference last night, April 29, 2005. In the press conference the President outlined how His private accounts could be used to address the solvency issue. His solution? Cut benefits. Yes. That was the rest of His plan. Cut Benefits.

House Bill to proctect DEMS at Bush Rallies...

Sat Apr 09, 2005 at 01:19:20 PM PDT

I would love to see such a bill sponsored by the House Dems to bring attention to the outrageous actions of the current adminstration as it applies to GWB's public appearances.

I would love to see this debated and discussed on the House floor.

I would love to see the WH answer some direct and pointed questions and STOP blaming "staffers" and "over zealous volunteers".

God Does Exist, I Think

Sun Apr 03, 2005 at 05:48:09 AM PDT

Of course without a satisfactory definition of what God or a god is, almost anything is possible.

Spirituality is much more important that religious conviction. And while meditating, you have to wonder about Christianity. The central figure (Jesus) is a zombie with magical powers.

It is more likely that after Jesus died on the cross that his body was taken from the cave by whacko followers who consumed his flesh and drank his blood.

Occam's cuts deep, but to the heart of the matter. Amen.

Foxnews Celebrates Ratings Boom

Sat Mar 26, 2005 at 03:40:23 AM PDT

People are saying that a Foxnews spokesman is giddy with delight ragarding the recent ratings boom resulting from the tireless and selfless coverage of the Terri Shiavo Death Watch. "God has sent Terri to us to line our pockets".

CNN has filed a lawsuit contending in federal court that God has also intended for the Atlanta based Time Warner subsidiary to likewise benefit from similar coverage. The basis of the suit is that God did not adequately account for the higher IQ of the average CNN viewer. "We have to try twice as hard when presenting this 'story' to our viewer. I mean, for God's sake, our views have at least 4 to 5 additional IQ points."

Begin Shiavo induced rant:

Fri Mar 25, 2005 at 04:23:56 AM PDT

The fact that the wingnuts are willing to kill to save Terri's "life" is scary. They are so blinded by their own ignorant political agendae they can not see the folly of their motivations.

Fundies have taken what may have started as good ideas and turned them into perverted beliefs. And, because of those beliefs, they are willing to kill. You wanna ban books and censor behavior? Start with the bible and the monotheistic religions of Fundies.

Fundies, you have it all wrong. You are ignorant. Creationism is not a fact or a science. It is fanatasy. FANTASY. And you are killing America with your beliefs. Drop it. Stop it. Do it for the children. Won't anyone think about the children?

End Rant.

Righties Attact Lack of Dem SS Plan on Cable News

Thu Mar 24, 2005 at 02:54:57 AM PDT

With millions of wingnuts watching the cable news channels in the midst of this policital dog and pony show (Shiavo death watch), the righies are running ads pointing out that the Dems are playing politics by not putting forth a SS plan.

In a related comment is it sad to see the media reporting that the judges have ruled "against" Terri, and refer to the supporters of the Adminstration attack of Terri's right to die as Terri's "advocates".  It is Terri's husband that is her advocate. The courts are ruling IN HER FAVOR.

The adminstration, the righties, the fundies, the wingnuts and the media are self-serving bastards (pardon my French) that do not care one stitch for Terri, her husband, or her dying wishes. Sad.
