For most people saying the word "blitzkrieg" conjures up WWII and the german sweep of Europe. The term itself means lightning war and was adopted by the U.S. after WWII. If war is politics by other means then it could be said that politics is war by other means and for Obama, this week has been a definite blitzkrieg.

sorry that was me throwing up in my mouth just a little that I said that but it's the truth. I was watching hardball and trying not to destroy my nice LCD tv when to my surprise Andrea Mitchell called McCain out for the condescending, disrespectful disdain in how he talks about Obama.

Further she pointed out that this has been going on for some time, including McCain saying he would go with Obama to Iraq to "educate" him. She also predicted that this would continue and that this was similar to how George the elder treated Bill Clinton during the 92 campaign. Methinks that the media is losing its man-crush, or at least some of it, with regard to McCain.

Sorry this is short and I will try to find the video later. However I thought this was pretty important that someone finally called a duck a duck and saw McCain as being disrespectful etc. That will hurt McCain big time.

Ok, While we may still all be upset by FISA and even though I wish Obama had voted differently he's still one of the best damn candidates I have ever seen run for president. We've all seen the diaries on the rec-list about the WSJ article and the reasons to donate to Obama. We've heard the media reports that Obama's fund-raising has been "slowing down".

Folks, this is one chance to change a media narrative by people power. While we won't always agree with Barack on everything, we agree on enough things to work together to change this country. So let's have a money-bomb day today.

Update [2008-7-11 12:34:12 by Dreggas]: - oh and for a little more incentive for why we need to get republicans out of the government and elect Obama, I spoke with my mother on her birthday yesterday, my father is on disability and mom works so they make ends meet, in fact they aren't doing too bad, but they now have to go to some place that gives out free bread every couple weeks just to save a little bit of money. Never before, at least in my lifetime, did they have to do that.

It's amazing just how quickly people are ready to throw the baby out with the bath water when it comes to Obama, not just with regards to his support of the SC's decision regarding the 2nd amendment (guess what a lot of people think the 2nd amendment guarantee's an individual right to keep and bear arms and that's not going to change) but especially with his support for "Faith Based Initiatives". The latter being just the latest.

Maybe it's the name "Faith Based Initiatives" or maybe it's because it has bush stink all over it but have people forgotten that Obama got his start working in some of these "Faith Based" programs? Those that defended TUCC, the church Obama attended, were quick to point out all of the good work that church did but now that Obama says he'd support federal funding for organizations like that, provided they played by the gov't rules so many people have their panties in a bunch.

I'll admit, I didn't have high hopes for Clinton's speech today. And after this long primary I felt like that old saying "once bitten twice shy". I also admit I would still keep her at arms distance from me. That being said I lost some more of my cynicism today.

That speech was one top notch. It was a speech like those that she gave in the beginning of this campaign, one of the reasons I was, at least moderately, willing to support Hillary if she became the nominee even though I was an Obama supporter.

Back in 06 when the primary wars began I remember writing a few diaries I happened to stumble upon again. They were about Pie as a snark device with which to either A) poke fun at kos' "If Obama Runs, he wins" FP diary (and the comments therein) as well as another diary at the time WRT the "Ridiculousness and Danger that is Obama", can't remember the exact post.

My father, who not months ago thought Obama wasn't too bad, has returned to insanity. He forwarded me some stupid chain mail with the picture of Obama not putting his hand on his heart during the National Anthem. Along with Red and Blue lettering repeating what John McCain (who my father used to despise) had to say about the pledge of allegiance.

I know this is not much of a diary but I needed to vent. I just can't get over it. Just when I thought my father was returning to sanity he has jumped right back into the damn kool-aid filled pool.

As if yesterday's quote wasn't enough with regard to Hillary saying "Rich People, God bless Us", now we have Howard Wolfson on todays conference call saying that's not what she said, she said "God Blessed Us". This comes courtesy of Balloon-Juice

People say "oh no you're taking it out of context" but like Markos said yesterday, imagine if Obama had said this. Even in context the quote was bad. It was a reminder once again of how the rich see themselves as above the little people.

Personally, I didn't watch the Fox interview but I have read the transcript and have perused various accounts of it throughout the blogosphere and you know what? Big Fucking Deal.

By going on FOX News Obama did not legitimize a network that already has gained legitimacy with a large number of Americans. If they hadn't do you think we'd have the Shithead in chief we have now? It's reality folks, and it won't change if you just ignore it.

Oh boy, here we go again. As with most here I know the story of Michigan and Florida but it looks like Hillary still didn't get the message and is, in fact, trying to use Michigan as a stealth spoiler at the convention:

Alright I've just about had it with the shit being flung at Obama with regard to something his pastor said. So with that in mind it's time to start showing the media what real offensive comments are like. I usually don't care if my diary gets a lot of play but I'd ask everyone to send this out to the media and to anyone they can think of showing them what is really offensive.
