Angry Joe story, day 3

First it was a "one-day story" about a radio outburst. Then it was a blog story. Now it's a newspaper headline:

Online Buzz Benefits Lamont

Lieberman Joust Fuels Bloggers, Spurs Donations To Foe

Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman dropped his usual air of imperturbability during a drive-time radio appearance Wednesday, snapping at the host over a column criticizing the senator and backing his challenger, Ned Lamont.

Six years ago, when Lieberman last ran for re-election, his comments would have had the shelf life of an ice-cream cone. But on Thursday, they only grew louder, amplified by Internet bloggers.

Mr. Cheney, I'm sorry

Mon Feb 20, 2006 at 10:26:56 PM PDT

Inspired by the contrition of Mr. Whittington, the man with the audacity to put his body between your shotgun and a quail, I'd like to offer my own apology to Mr. Dick Cheney.

Mr. Vice President, I would personally like to apologize to you. I realize that you've been through hell, and it's my fault. I blame my own empathy for this tragedy. If it wasn't for my concern for the health and well-being of Mr. Whittington, I wouldn't have given the shooting a second thought. In retrospect, I realize now that if the Vice-President shoots something, whether it be a bird raised to be a living skeet or a 78-year old man, it deserves to be shot.

As long as I'm making this apology, I would like to pass on a few other apologies...
