Can people please put snark in the title?

Fri May 02, 2008 at 12:25:08 PM PDT

This won't be a long diary but please, put snark in the title so I don't read the whole thing and wonder then have a gotcha moment.

Oh, I know there are tags, but geeze...sometimes we drive through and just see the titles and folks can take it seriously.

That's all.  I'll go back to making a serious beef and broccoli for dinner.

I just grew more bitter

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 04:00:45 AM PDT

In the early 1980’s when people were dying left and right from AIDs, it really was thought by many in my peer group to have been a government plot to rid the country of gay people.  Some people thought that the virus was tested in the jails and then spread from there. No matter what the government says, deep inside, I do not believe them and have moved on.

This is what happens when you have no trust in your government.

Rush Limbaugh scares me

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 05:11:21 PM PDT

If you ask my husband, he would tell you that I am not much frightened by anything except for flesh-eating zombies.  But I bought a Zombie Survival Guide to help me with that.

But Rush Limbaugh scares me.  Not that I am quaking in fear of him, but more  like he is more foreign to me than many things on this earth.  I do not understand him the powerful hate that he sends out to rides the airwaves.

This is what change is like

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 12:29:57 PM PDT

I admit that sometimes I was puzzled by Barack Obama even though I support him 100 percent in this primary run and will do so in the General election.  I do not understand why he does not go nuclear on Hillary Clinton with the talking points that I am sure that the Republicans have waiting in the wings to throw at her if she became the nominee.  He is for the most part respectful of her even when she is rolling down in the mud trying to gather up enough to splatter him with it.

I've thought about it and was stunned to realize that the way he runs his campaign shows us clearly that this is what change is like.

Hillary needed to win big. She did not.

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 07:30:38 PM PDT

This is a fact.

Most of us knew that Obama was going to lose PA.  But his numbers are wonderful.  I was nervous that it was going to be 20+ for Hillary.  I grew up in PA and he did well there.

Obama Advisor - 60,000 Troops in Iraq until 2010 (UPDATED)

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 10:42:29 AM PDT

I read this at Huffington Post Here is the article
http://www.nysun.com/...

The discussion is quite lively on Huffington's.  I just wonder what Kossacks think.

I do not know what kind of paper the New York Sun is either.  But I am sure someone out there knows.

Hillary knows how to work us up

Wed Apr 02, 2008 at 12:37:08 AM PDT

She is a master at it.  Smoke and fun house mirrors.

Though I remember that she voted for the war and the Kyl-Lieberman amendment.  She thought long and hard about those things and was so wrong about it.  So wrong.

So now, she is talking really loud about these disenfranchised voters that she didn't care about until she was behind, not that they would even help her all that much...

But you know what she is doing?

Perhaps they protest too much?

Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 10:44:18 AM PDT

Who are these guys on TV going on and on about Pastor Wright and Senator Obama?  Do they have an agenda, a personal political one?  Are they Right, Center or Left?  And who made them the authority on anything?  Their backgrounds explain why they are pounding this into the pavement.

Is anyone going to jail for this?

Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 04:34:14 AM PDT

For the Iraq War?

Someone or Someones really need to go to jail for this.  Is it possible and can it be international?  If not international, can it be shown worldwide?

Warning! Do not read this if you have high blood pressure.

Sat Mar 15, 2008 at 05:52:02 AM PDT

To all you Wobblers,

So you thought it was going to be a cakewalk?

Welcome to the real world.

You thought change was going to be pretty.  And that the lions were going to lay down and let it happen.

Nope.  But this is the time to show your resolve.  If you are not willing, then move on, nothing to see here.

If you choose to continue, warning, there will be blood.

Fear is the Mind Killer

Fri Mar 14, 2008 at 05:26:10 AM PDT

I love that quote from Frank Herbert’s Dune.

This is just my opinion after reading sooooo many diaries about electability and Pastor Wright and Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro.  I am a Senator Obama supporter just so you know right up front.

FEAR.

I believe that we, the American people are victims of a misled furor of patriotism that led us into Iraq where we killed the head of state and his family members, tortured, maimed, and have Iraqis and Americans dead and wounded in the thousands.  The person and persons who sent us there wear flag lapel pins and probably put their hands over their hearts for the National Anthem and the Star Spangled Banner.

Sen. Obama is truly being vetted

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 06:41:25 PM PDT

I know some of you want to hear from Gore, Pelosi, Edwards etc... about what's going on with the primary.  But I do not believe it will happen soon.  Senator Obama is on his own and he has to be at this time.  He is running for the Presidency, Commander in Chief of the good ole US of A.

Don't fall into the Ferraro trap

Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 06:58:57 PM PDT

Come on people, don't let the Ferraro thingie cause you to fall into a trap.
The trap is to frame this campaign along racial lines.  The press is already talking about African Americans voted this way and whites voted that way.  It is bull doodoo. It is a past that we must rise against and unite as an American people.

Senator Clinton's problem

Mon Mar 10, 2008 at 03:29:17 PM PDT

It is evident to me after all the weeks into this election process that the problem with Senator Clinton's campaign was that she did not go into this journey prepared.

Prepared for a challenge.
Prepared for the change in what people felt after 8 years of GWB.
Prepared for the influx of new voters, new ideas.
Prepared to work for our votes.
Prepared for the fact that the resonating message is not about fear but real hope that we can do better than the last 8 years.

What was she thinking?  That it would be a 'cakewalk?'

My Vagina Monologue

Sat Mar 08, 2008 at 06:43:51 AM PDT

Just because Senator Clinton is a woman does not mean I owe her my vote.  Just because Senator Barack is an African American does not mean I owe him my vote.

I can decide on whomever I wish without taking their gender or race into consideration.  This is how I approach things.  Equal.  Not that the world is, but my little piece of world is like that.

One cannot tell a book by its cover.  I believe it. I try to live it.

It is politics

Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 10:03:41 PM PDT

Greetings,

It's politics, down and dirty.  I do not know why so many are surprised and outraged.  Politics is not pretty, at all.  In all my years it has always been quite ugly.

What we see here is the old ways, versus the new ways.  Senator Clinton has been in politics for 35 years and it shows in her approach. Nothing new there  It does not appear to be very nice.  But remember, it is politics and if we cannot stomach her methods then we will have a really hard time with the Republican  machine with the most repugnant Mcain as their nominee.

The reason why I will vote the way I will...

Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 11:43:48 PM PDT

I am somewhat distressed that there is so much vitriol between the Obama camp and Hillary camp. I do hope that in the end we can unite behind the nominee to take the White House for Democrats in the general election.  I will do so if the nominee is Senator Clinton.  I will have to.  I won't like it, but I will have to.

But I want to tell you why I won't vote for Hillary in the primary.

It is because she voted for the war.  It is just that simple.

So many people have died, Iraqis and Americans.  So many wounded...for what?  And she voted for it.
