Roberts:We don't have to prove he's a criminal...

Thu Jul 28, 2005 at 06:55:52 AM PDT

President Bush has to prove he's one of the Nine best judges for ALL of America.  Not being open to the American people isn't the way to do this.  Picking someone with no record judging, belonging to secret societies and denying it, isn't the way to do this.

This would be a better frame for this debate.

Supreme court is a national election, 44 Democratic senators represent 3.3 million more American citizens than 55 GOP senators.

Dem Senators represent more people: (148 million to 145 million, using 2004 Census estimates).

Democrats serving in the Senate today were elected by 61 million votes, while GOP senators were elected by 59 million. Also, the total votes received by all candidates, win or lose, was: 99.5 million Democratic, 98.3 million GOP.

Who did Rove betray today?

Wed Jul 20, 2005 at 06:22:35 AM PDT

How did the Iranians find out we could read their codes?
Who did Rove betray today?
Where is Osama?
Who was the Anthrax bomber?
Why are we ignoring domestic terrorists like Eric Rudolph?
When do we get a balanced budget?

There are both Rights and Responsibilities to the office of President.  We can start talking about Bush's supreme court rights once he's met his constitutional responsibilities.

This is a talking point, and all anyone representing me needs to say to the media today

Ann Coulter: Please convert US leaders to Christianity

Fri Dec 31, 2004 at 08:33:28 PM PDT

Dear Ann Coulter,

re your web site:

To The People Of Islam:
Just think: If we'd invaded your countries, killed your leaders and converted you to Christianity YOU'D ALL BE OPENING CHRISTMAS PRESENTS RIGHT ABOUT NOW!
Merry Christmas

Please convert George Bush to Christianity. He only seems to like the end-of-days part, like he read the bible from the beginning and his head and heart got filled before he got to the Love part.

Name me one thing we did after 9/11 as a "Christian" nation that the old USSR wouldn't have done as a "Godless" nation if they had suffered that attack.

Please lead our leaders into attacking others less, and examining the beams in their own eyes.

If converting them to Christianity is too much to ask, at least teach them to play well with all of God's children.

And while you're at it, Ann, rather than being forced to pray standing to be seen by men, for political gain, a little praying in secret would undoubtably benefit us.  The God I worship is everywhere, even where the children of other faiths aren't forced to recite things they don't understand or agree with.

Love,
Jim

Meet the dead: So families can go, while Bush hides.

Fri Oct 15, 2004 at 10:13:15 PM PDT

Poll results on http://www.armytimes.com/static.php?f=view.php had many interesting results, I think the one below should be drummed and drummed.  Kerry should propose an immediate bill to grant two round trip tickets to any military family:

Should the military do more to accommodate families who wish to go to Dover Air Force Base, Del., to meet the remains of loved ones who die?

Yes.        87.54 % (6,118)
No.           9.00 % (629)
Don't know.    3.46 % (242)
Total votes: 6989

So, they can go, while Bush hides.

"MBA" president should have called this one right

COMING SOON: The final report by the American weapons inspector in Iraq
"that Saddam Hussein had the intent and the capability, that he was pursuing an aggressive strategy to bring down the sanctions, the international sanctions imposed by the United Nations (news - web sites) through illegal financing procurement schemes,"

So we should have sent in ACCOUNTANTS and not lost any American lives.

Every time you see a website, you could also see comments from any dailyKosser on another window.  Help keep track of the good guys, and see an argument against the bad guys.  Browse to a company website, and find out they fired someone for having a Kerry sticker on, or donated to "S-BVets4Bushit"  It's easy to use, works inside of Mozilla browsers which you should try anyway (open multi tabs by control-clicking and read when ready).

Bush fights wrong war again

Sat Aug 28, 2004 at 08:13:07 PM PDT

Bush keeps picking the wrong war to fight.  First it was in wasting young American lives to purchase a new dictator for Iraq.  The soldiers are willing, the commander is unworthy.

Now he declares war on the Navy's system of honoring injured soldiers in Vietnam, getting confused angry old men to swear to things they had no way of knowing, or that they had previously sworn the opposite of.  Why did Bob Dole fall on his sword for this man?  Again, the soldiers are willing, the commander is unworthy.

Too bad Bush is unable to recognize true dangers to America and instead becomes the danger.

Gov NJ Gay=Good Hair=Kerry=Gay???

Tue Aug 17, 2004 at 08:12:22 AM PDT

Just heard on LA radio:

  1. Gov NJ is gay
  2. Poll said NJ not surprised
  3. Reason: good hair
  4. Kerry has good hair
  5. Kerry "flies Kristof out to west coast" for $900 cut
  6. Is Kerry Gay?  We don't know....
  7. He sure isn't a man of the people.

How often have they claimed the Kristof lie?

A storyline for Democrats

Sat May 15, 2004 at 05:58:27 PM PDT

The blogger formerly known as Calpundit posts a call for a narrative for Kerry (http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2004_05/003927.php).  I think we need a narrative in general, a narrative for our party:

Government has always been a way for people to get what they want.  The thing is, which people get what they want?  America started out with the king getting what he wanted.

Liberals in our unborn Nation, the Founding Fathers, once looked at the world as it was, and came up with a new way, with freedom and power for more.  The conservatives of the time fought for the King, and lost.

Liberals looked at the world later and wanted freedom for the enslaved.  The conservatives of the time fought for slavery, which they now call states rights, and lost.

Liberals looked at the world later and wanted equality for women.  The conservatives of the time fought to keep women in "their place", and lost.

Liberals looked at the world later and wanted an end to monopolies and excessive control by robber barons.  The conservatives of the time fought to keep power in the hands of the few, and lost.

Liberals looked at the world later and wanted an end to sixty hour work weeks, insurance if injured on the job, retirement benefits, and reasonable wages.  The conservatives of the time fought to keep power, and lost, but continue to chip away at their loss while our attention is turned.

Liberals looked at the world later and wanted an end to lynchings, grandfather clauses, and separate but equal.  The conservatives of the time fought to preserve these things they cherished, and lost, but continue to chip away at their loss while our attention is turned.

Liberals looked at the world later and wanted an end to back alley abortions, and to get the government out of our bedrooms and wombs.  The conservatives lost this battle, but continue to chip away at their loss while our attention is turned.

We are improving the world.  Help make it easier.  Vote for a liberal.

The question/suggestion I had was an additional link to the electoral calculator prefilled as 2000 went, to enable scenario playtime with less effort.  Also cool would be to play with 96 and 92 preloaded.

Do you hate me if I'm ready to pair up two candidates?

Wed Oct 15, 2003 at 09:50:11 PM PDT

I am proud of all our candidates, but find myself favoring Dean and Clark about equally.  Clearly Dean has paid his dues more than Clark to our party, but that doesn't get translated into any electoral advantage.  Now we have to sit around and watch everyone weaken each other.  If the other party were fighting someone they felt as strongly about as we do about GB, they would have narrowed it down by now (as they did early through the tool of money, swamping McCain).

I actually picture, based on how the President and VP roles work, that without on the job training, as the two are perceived right now, Clark would be the more impressive president for foreign affairs, and Dean the more legislative/internal, which means the VP position.  Too bad we don't elect an internal and external president.  I think it's easier to learn the foreign part than the domestic, but that's not the way most non party voters see things.

How great it would be to look out for the long term good of our party, acknowledge either will make a great president, and accept the (misguided) perceptions of non true believers that we have something to fear from external threats to this country and need a soldier type in the executive position.  If we could get it to happen in that order (Clark top of ticket first run) we would have 16 years guaranteed.  And I say that as someone not doubting anything about Dean's ability to beat GB, just wanting some insurance.  Am I missing anything?
