Katrina the Gathering, a card game

Sun Sep 18, 2005 at 01:26:47 AM PDT

I tried a number of searches and did not get any hits that someone else might have posted this, so I'm posting this link to "Katrina: the Gathering", a parody of "Magic: the Gathering", a collectible card game, with the Katrina disaster as the theme. As a magic player and Kos subscriber, I can tell these two guys put a lot of effort into creating a reasonable "expansion" set to the M:tG card game while at the same time taking potshots at everyone involved in the disaster...

Republicans back special tax Cut for Gays and Lesbians.

Wed May 04, 2005 at 03:54:46 PM PDT

It's true, Republicans all think that Gay and Lesbian couples are so special, that they are entitled to a special tax rate over hetrosexual married couples. How could they possibly have done this? By making sure gays and lesbians can't be leagally married.

Those of us among the married know exactly of which I speak. There has almost always been a marriage penalty for households where both partners work. Despite this, Republicans are willing to forgo the extra taxes that would be collected from gay and lesbian married couples, in essence providing them with a tax cut that other couples cannot get unless they choose to "live in sin".
