Hate Is Not a Progressive Value

In 2008, we are faced with a choice between two strong options to bring the Democratic Party back to the White House. There is a real choice between leadership styles and political gifts among our two remaining candidates. They have different strengths and weaknesses and their ultimate potentials might differ based upon their differences in outlook and the political frameworks they envision. But, without mistake, both Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama offer us hope, after years in the political desert, for a better government and more progressive, if not exactly a progressive, policy path. Across the spectrum, their specific agendas for the future diverge to a very small degree.

We are all Karl Rove's Bitch

I see no reason that we should pick solely on Tim Russert -- as deserving as he is and as good as it might feel.
You only have to look back at the detritus strewn around our national political landscape since 2000 to draw the conclusion that we have all been Karl Rove's bitches.

Can you be a small government progressive?

I'm not a frequent poster here, political science major or even policy wonk but I listen to debates, positions, concerns and wonder if it is possible to be a small government progessive? And if, so isn't that the sort of position that could be a winning majority?
Many polls have indicated that there are majority positions for much of the Democratic agenda. At the same time, election after election Republicans tap into several themes that seem to win elections:
- Social conservatism (i.e. "values").
- Low tax, small government libertarianism.
- The fear and security vote.
Clark Folks -- Let's track our contributions
Thu Mar 04, 2004 at 04:34:30 PM PDT
Recently, on February 29th, a few Clark supporters worked together to launch a grassroots site aimed at supporting Congressional Democrats in vital races while promoting Wes Clark.
It's a pretty simple concept: log your contributions to a Congressional Democrat or candidate (or John Kerry) and we maintain a running tally.
Periodically, we report these tallies to the affected campaigns via email as coming from Wes Clark Democrats.
If you are a Clark supporter donating in these important races, then please consider using the site. If you aren't a Clark supporter, we still have good information about key races and links directly to donate to those Congressional candidates.
All are welcome!
