About a month ago, I started a new job. A new, low paying job (I make .15 above minimum wage. I bring this up to say, there is no opportunity where I live. It is a rural area stricken with poverty and under-education). At the new job, I met a friend. Let's call her "Tina."
Tina is the mother of six. She had her first kid at 15 and is married to a man who is 11 years her senior. Tina is 33 and trapped in her bad marriage. When i first started working, I mainly knew Tina as the woman who's husband wouldn't let her work (out of jealousy, for having a life outside of home, but also because he suspected her intentions with our teenage male coworkers. As if!) So she'd show up late for work, looking a mess. Then she'd leave me in the middle shift, after being on the phone with her jealous husband for an hour. When she first left and didn't come back, I thought I might never hear from her again ..
In case you missed it, here is the segment by OLielly regarding dailyKos:
A clear smear, and easy to refute. So why do our Senators and Presidential candidates legitimize OLielly's (frankly) absurd argument by responding to it, or attacking it, rather than merely pointing out that it is absurd?
I have had a great amount of support from friends and family, who are normally politcally inactive, in regards to Jim Webb. Still, I have to admit the biggest motivator is our sitting Senator. I still get some lukewarm answers when I ask someone, why are you supporting Jim Webb?
Here is a flyer I am going to distribute to every room on campus. Enjoy, and please use it and distribute with my blessings.
The Onion is on point with an article titled Long-Awaited Beer With Bush Really Awkward, Voter Reports. I would not diary something like this in most circumstances .. but my goodness .. the onion is killing me. I am dying of laughter and I need to share the joy.
WARREN, PA--Although respondents to a Pew poll taken prior to the 2004 presidential election characterized Bush as "the candidate they'd most like to sit down and have a beer with," Chris Reinard lived the hypothetical scenario Sunday afternoon, and characterized it as "really uncomfortable and awkward."
Of course these polls do not have any real weight or scientific validity, but I have to say, participating in this one really made me feel good. If you enjoy an overwhelming and honest response to Bush and his war lies, you will really love this poll!
