Ricky Martin endorses Hillary!
Wed May 28, 2008 at 05:47:31 PM PDT
Ricky Martin is a Puerto Rican favorite son and pop singer who rose to fame, first as a member of the Latin boy band Menudo, then as a solo artist since 1991. He has sold almost 40 million albums around the world with 21 top-ten hits on the U.S. Latin Charts, eight of which reached number one.
Today, Ricky Martin endorsed Hillary Clinton for president!
http://news.yahoo.com/...
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Pop star Ricky Martin is backing Hillary Rodham Clinton ahead of Puerto Rico's primary on Sunday. The Grammy-winning singer on Wednesday said Clinton has shown a commitment to the needs of the Hispanic community. Martin is one of the territory's top-selling artists, whose hits including "She Bangs" and "Livin' la Vida Loca."
This should help Hillary to get out the vote and rack up a big win in the June 1 contest.

Obama's explanation on Pastor Wright raises more questions
Fri Mar 14, 2008 at 05:57:38 PM PDT
On Keith Olbermann tonight, Obama used interesting language about Pastor Wrights' comments, indicating that he knew about the comments for at least several months. The comments date back to at least 2001 after the 9/11 attacks and Obama has been an active member of Pastor Wright's church for almost 20 years.
Also Obama keeps harping on how he "wasn't in the pew" when the comments were made. Does this mean he doesn't have to react to them if he doesn't hear them in person?
Finally on the Huffington Post today is Obama's most damaging comment,

Rasmussen has a poll released today that is truly an eye-opener. In the Democratic stronghold state of New Jersey, Hillary crushes McCain but it is a toss up between McCain and Obama:

TPM: Hillary gaining in Texas! w/poll
Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 01:45:36 PM PDT
TPM Election Central has polling data from last night showing a surge for HRC in Texas;
http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpoi...
one pollster argues that Hillary Clinton has in fact regained the momentum in the race. Here are the latest InsiderAdvantage numbers, compared to their previous poll from Monday 2/25:
Clinton 47 (+1)
Obama 43 (-4)
The internals show Hillary expanding her lead among Latinos, holding steady among whites, dropping slightly with women but making gains among men.

Jon Alter/Newsweek is biased and dead wrong w/UPDATE
Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 07:46:02 AM PDT
Among the large chorus of sexist and biased journalist/pundits/media types, Jon Alter has shown his true colors in a piece in the Newsweek March 3 issue:
http://www.newsweek.com/...
Withdrawing would be stupid if Hillary had a reasonable chance to win the nomination, but she doesn't.
Actually it is Jon Alter who is stupid (actually he is smart, but he is biased). There is no doubt that he is cheerleading for an Obama nomination, perhaps so that he can then trash Obama in the general election and help McCain get elected.
Below the fold are the reasons that the race will go on until at least late April.
Rasmussen today: Hillary as good as Obama vs. McCain
Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 09:22:45 AM PDT
Rasmussen has a new poll today of head-to-head national match ups vs. McCain:
http://rasmussenreports.com/...
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that John McCain has gained ground against Democratic frontrunner Barack Obama.
McCain 47
Clinton 44
McCain 46
Obama 43
This is Hillary's best performance in the poll in the last two weeks.
Latest polls: Hillary hanging tough
Fri Feb 22, 2008 at 10:18:45 AM PDT
The national daily tracking polls from Rasumussen and Gallop show that Hillary is holding her own. Both of these including polling after the Wisconsin and Hawaii contests:
Gallup:
http://www.gallup.com/...
Clinton 45
Obama 44
The latest three-day average finds Clinton favored by 45% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters and Obama by 44%. Gallup interviews from Feb. 19, the first day following Obama's strong win in Tuesday's Wisconsin primary, do not show an increase in Obama's support that some might have expected as a result. Clinton's technical one-percentage point lead is the first time she has been ahead of Obama in Gallup Daily Poll tracking since Feb. 9-11, although it is statistically indistinguishable from Obama's one-point lead in Gallup's Feb. 16-18 interviewing.
Rasmussen:
http://rasmussenreports.com/...
Obama 44
Clinton 41
This has closed from a 7-point difference two days ago.
How conservatives are tainting the Dem nomination
Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 12:30:08 PM PDT
Many of you will remember that the founder of this beloved web site, Markos, encouraged Michigan Democrats and Independents to crossover and vote for Mitt Romney in the Republican primary last month. This was based on two realities - first that the Michigan Democratic primary was a non-contest and second that a vote for Romney was actually a vote for the Democrats to get the White House.
http://www.dailykos.com/...
Next Tuesday, January 15th, Michigan will hold its primary. Michigan Democrats should vote for Mitt Romney, because if Mitt wins, Democrats win.
I suspect we are seeing the same effect based on the results of the Wisconsin primary. More below the fold.

Obama has gone too negative on Clintons?
Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 05:31:03 PM PDT
The Obama campaign has a consistent pattern of negative attacks on the Clintons dating back several months ago. Some examples below the fold with some analysis on how this might cost the Democratic party the general election.
New Polls: Clinton big lead in OH, PA

Ohio: Clinton 55 - Obama 34
Penn: Clinton 52 - Obama 36

It also shows Clinton performing as well as Obama against McCain in Florida:
McCain 44 - Clinton 42; McCain 41 - Obama 39
Obvious anti-Hillary bias at CNN tonight
Sat Feb 09, 2008 at 08:46:26 PM PDT
Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama spoke at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner tonight in Richmond, Virginia. Did anyone notice that Obama's speech was covered wall to wall but Hillary's speech was cut away from early at CNN? Viewers were told they would have to go to CNN.com to see the remainder of Hillary's speech.
This is analogous to what they did after the South Carolina primary. I wonder if the Clinton campaign is steaming mad about this. I sure am.
Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) endorses Hillary!
Thu Feb 07, 2008 at 06:04:08 PM PDT
Hillary Clinton got another red state senator to endorse her run for President, from Senator Blanche Lincoln from Arkansas.

Sen. Lincoln was the youngest woman ever to be elected to the Senate when she was elected in 1998 at the age of 38, having previously served in the House of Representatives.
See below the fold for what Sen. Lincoln said in her endorsement and what it might mean and how the national media has been relatively silent about it.
