Pelosi's Website, The Gavel, has made public, a letter sent from "A Group of Concerned Department of Justice Employees" about the politicalization non-political positions traditionally held by "career employees."

I can't find thins anywhere on line and I'm sorry this diary is so short. Keith just opened his show by saying

"Breaking News, the editorial board of the Army Times, Navy Times etc. to print an editorial on Monday in which they will call for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's resignation"

I'm so confused...

"Countdown with Keith Olbermann" finished the first quarter ahead of CNN's Paula Zahn in the key 25-54 year-old demographic ("the demo"). This marks MSNBC's first quarterly primetime victory over CNN in the demo in almost five years.

You know how Bush gives non-campaign speeches and makes the audience sign loyalty oaths?  That pisses me off.  Well guess what, because he gets away with that, he decided to take it one step further and charge the taxpayers for his flights to campaign for Republicans in Congress.  Dan Froomkin wonders why no news outlets are covering this. I sure don't.

This is just so sad and pathetic....

Tom Delay & Duke Cunningham are as thick as theives...

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) yesterday [June 14, 2005] defended Rep. Duke Cunningham (R-Calif.) after calls from congressional Democrats to investigate the Republican appropriator for selling his San Diego home to a defense contractor whose firm had received $65 million in federal funds in 2004.

On July 6 I chose to go to jail to defend my right as a journalist to protect a confidential source, the same right that enables lawyers to grant confidentiality to their clients, clergy to their parishioners, and physicians and psychotherapists to their patients.

John Dean predicted, much to my dismay, that no one would be indicted.  However, this week he has done a 180.

In his introduction he asserts that:

Having read the indictment against Libby, I am inclined to believe more will be issued. In fact, I will be stunned if no one else is indicted...the person who should be tossing and turning at night...is the Vice President of the United States, Richard B. Cheney

As you can imagine, I've done a lot of thinking -- and a lot of listening -- on the subject of what I should have done differently in handling our reporter's entanglement in the White House leak investigation. Jill and John and I have talked a great deal among ourselves and with many of you, and while this is a discussion that will continue, we thought it would be worth taking a first cut at the lessons we have learned.

Remember when those contractors were torched and hung from a bridge in Iraq?? That photograph was all over the place.  On the front of every newspaper, above the fold.  On the 24 hour news networks.  It was a horrific picture and I did my best to avoid looking directly at it.  However, the media has the right to print it.  Interestingly, the federal government had no problem with displaying those dead Americans.

They work hard for the money.  So hard for the money.  I'm not talking about that waitress in the 80s video, I'm talking about the people hired to do PR for Halliburton.  Why do they keep doing stuff like this?  Why don't they wait until all this Guantanamo crap has died down?  Its about as smart as committing murder when Jessica Fletcher is in town.  Enough already!!

Looks like we aren't the only one's who don't want Katherine Harris to run.  Harris is learning that even when you get your employer's brother in the White House you are not guaranteed life long devotion.  I thought crime families were supposed to be loyal.  Someone needs to tell the Bushes.

I searched this topic and didn't find it in "stories or diaries."  I apologize if this is repetitive.

Remember how obsessed the media was with this story?? Amazing how the entire country was so fixated on this issue at the time but now that the scientific evidence is released, there are not nearly as many stories in the MSM as there were during the "Schaivo Marathon."

Keith Oblermann of Countdown (the only valid cable news program) showed us again that he is not a GOP Whore last night.  He had a unique focus regarding the history of the filibuster.  Apparently the same Focus on the Family who railed against the filibuster on Justice Sunday strongly supported it in 1993 when used against appointees who were openly gay.
