Fighting Dem on ABC News Tonight

Wed Nov 30, 2005 at 08:33:00 AM PDT

Patrick Murphy, the Democratic challenger in the Pennsylvania 8th District (Bucks, Philly, and Montgomery Counties) will be on ABC World News tonight at 6:30. He'll be on in a short segment giving a Democratic response to Bush's Iraq War speech. Mike Fitzpatrick, the ultra-conservative incumbent Republican, will also be on with the Republican response. We'll be having a watching party tonight in the district at 6:30 PM or you can watch at home. I'll keep you updated where.

Creating more Patrick Murphys

Tue Oct 04, 2005 at 11:24:28 AM PDT

The Washington Post has a good story out today about Democratic Iraq War Vets -- particularly those in my home state of Pennsylvania -- who are running for US House seats. The article features Patrick Murphy (http://www.Murphy06.com) in the PA-08 who is calling for an exit strategy.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/04/AR2005100400074_pf.html

Murphy is a lawyer specializing in Constitutional Law. What's nice is that he's facing an opponent who's tied at the hip with Delay. (Of course, nearly ALL of the Rethugs are...)

The question I have for my fellow Kossacks is this: Is the money stopping from the Delay taps? I doubt it. How best can we encourage more Patrick Murphy's to join races, especially in red districts.

Over a million people have now served in Iraq --  certainly one for every district: I think that if we start giving seed money NOW to every one of these guys - and publicize it -- more Patrick Murphy's will emerge...

...and we take back the House in 2006.

Calling all Philly Kossacks

Wed Aug 03, 2005 at 12:22:23 PM PDT

Howard Dean's plan to fight the Republicans in all 50 states, in every district, is working.

Last night, Paul Hackett - the Democratic candidate for the Ohio 2nd District special election. This result was simply IMPOSSIBLE according to the old party play-book.

Tonight, WE have the opportunity to change the play-books in Pennsylvania. Five candidates will speak tonight that have the ability to unseat conservative incumbent Republicans in the US House.

Get thee to MEETUP!

Wed Mar 02, 2005 at 12:04:48 PM PDT

DFA Meetup is tonight around the world.

We plan on working to make Rick Santorum cry like a wimpering baby at ours:

http://dfa.meetup.com/109

We'll be planning a mock-Funeral March for Social Security that ends up on Rick Sanotrum's office, learning how to talk in public and private about Social Security with a Rockridge Institute professor, and amassing a giant crowd for Ed Rendell, Hilary Clinton, and Harry Reid coming to town.

Drexel College Repubs shockingly honest about SocSec

Tue Feb 22, 2005 at 08:21:44 AM PDT

In a surprising display of candor, Drexel College Republicans admitted to knowing the real plan for Bush's Social Security : ending it.

Today, I picketed at one of Rick Santorum's Privatization town hall meetings at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Anti-privatization forces and Drexel Dems out-numbered Pro-privatization forces and College Repubs. 6 to 1. There were about 40 of us total -- but CNN, the Washington Post, ABC were all covering our anti-privatization protest.

CNN started filming, so we started to chant "Hey-Hey Ho-Ho, Rick Santorum has got to go!" In response, the Drexel Republicans retorted with their own chant: "Hey, hey. Ho, ho. Social Security has got to go!" Our jaws just about dropped as CNN continued to film. We stopped our chant, and let the Repubs take over -- they were doing our job for us!

Who has been feeding Drexel Repubs the lead paint???

Senator Privatization

Mon Feb 21, 2005 at 04:01:07 PM PDT

Just about everyone in the blogosphere has Rick Santorum as the wing-nut to oust next year. You know that he plans a dirty game, but he's over-confident.

Santorum is playing a dangerous game -- thinking that he can push through Social Security privatization and still get re-elected. (Though PA has the 2nd oldest population in the nation.)

I think we can refute the notion of an easy victory by  associating Social Security Phase-out with his name. May I suggest calling him "Senator Privatization" at every opportunity?

For Philly-area Kossacks only:

We can start now by protesting Santorum tommorrow at Drexel. (9:30 am at 32nd & Chestnut).

The Drexel Dems are getting excellent press on this, and if we show up loud and proud, Santorum is going to have his name forever associated with Social Security privatization.
