I was pretty sure life sucked in the field of manual labor and couldn't get much worse until I saw this. I'm a pretty shitty diarist and writer, but I hope a few of you watch this.
Support the troops? Yeah, ok, and then what? Oh I have my bumper sticker, yeah whatever, I said I support the troops. What more do you want? You want body armour? You say the interceptor body armour is crap? But I support you, just not your informed opinion. You're just a marine.
I live in a suburban city that was once a small town. My high school history teacher always told us about what it was like when she grew up here; 2 main roads and alot of farms. Things have changed alot since then and I've graduated almost 5 years ago. Things have changed to the point where city contracts are just about given to the mob and eventhough we pay alot of taxes there almost seems to be nothing to show for it. A place where drugs are begining to run rampant and the local police force seems to be the fastest growing job sector, but I'm not complaing, it's besides the point. More on the flip.
Every now and then, it's good to go on Yahoo! and read the comments for random news stories. It gives you a good idea about what the average Joe thinks. If you have the time, go on Yahoo! and read a whole thread sometime. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you may even throw up a little in your mouth. More on the flip.
So, let me get this strait. The FDA official in charge of women's health disagrees with policy and protests by resigning. She gives up a really good, high paying job. Guess who they replace her with. Oh my, this is too rich. Alert John Stewart. It's like a huge, terrible, darkly comedic, punchline. If only it weren't true.
Yeah there's a hurricane, there will be many more. Maybe someone shoulda told them not to build there.
Yeah, there's a hurricane, maybe you shouldn't bitch about high oil prices. The rest of the world pays the same. Maybe you shoulda bought a pugoet like the rest, instead of your SUV.

Yes, apparently if you can afford it now, stem cells are ok! But mostly for your baby and wife. You might get a piece of the action. Prolly not.
Well, where do I go from here? I wanted to go to school. Once, I did. I went for one semester and I went pre- med. I did fantastic. 3.7 gpa or something like that. Real fine.
I dropped out. I had my reasons. Stress was the main reason. I was still making the grade but the anxiety was killing me. Just anxious, no real reason. Long, painful, lost many friends and girlfriends later....
Imagine, you're in the woods with your friends. It's so long ago that you can actually live off the land. There are about 30 of your kind. Things are good. Considder yourself a tribe.
And I dunno what to say. Everytime I talk to him, and yes, the internet connection to Afghanistan fuckin sucks, it seems like he down plays things. I always get, "It's not like nam man."
Democrats are good in the sense that Republicans are worse. Personally, I feel as though Republicans are too far to the north-east and Democrats too far north. Centrists are ok, but little is accomplished being a centrist. We need a south-west corner, and a south-east corner too. But Communism is too far(unless you count Native Americans and other small government, but that doesn't apply here.) http://www.digitalronin.f2s.com/politicalcompass/
More on the flip.
There's been many diaries dedicated to Hunter S. Thompson, but I feel that none have shown the magnitude of his genious as well as they should. I found an article, on ESPN.com, of all places. It was written the day after 9/11.
I was on Yahoo today, reading the posts of the comman man. Mind you that that scares the bejeezus out of me. I would say shit, but I wasn't sure if it was allowed:)

A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful, and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It's a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity. http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/j/jimmycarte158450.html
So, 43 calls in 41 and 42 cause 40's a dick? (Referring to Tsunami Aid)
At least 42 made sure he had one. (Joking)
I sense that this quote makes Carter (one of my heros) inherently anti-Bush. I mean, you'd think Bush would call him first. Habitit for Humanity? Bahh Humbug.
