Dartmouth's liberal elite

Sun Apr 10, 2005 at 05:33:22 AM PDT

Our friend from the right RFTR points us to The Volokh Conspiracy, which offers the following statistics from Dartmouth:

... of the 341 professors registered to vote in Hanover, NH, Lebanon, NH, and Norwich, VT, 225 (66 percent) are Democrats and eighteen (5 percent) are Republicans. Ninety-eight (29 percent) did not register a party. ...

These stats validate the liberal point-of-view.

Math and Science in America

The vivid discussion in Armando's diary Lawrence Summers and Political Correctness begs a bigger question.

Why are American high school kids in general falling behind in Math and Science tests compared with other countries?

If there is any solid scientific proof out there for the explanation that it is "genetics", I'll accept it.  In the meantime, I will consider that explanation baloney.

The reason may be cultural.  I'll give a few examples.
