Repub+Healthcare=Socialized Medicine

Tue Jun 05, 2007 at 06:17:10 PM PDT

I just knew it, but I did it anyway. I knew if I watched the damn debate tonight that sooner or later after laughing at that bunch of freaks that one of them would say something to really piss me off! This time it was Rudy Guilliani, and the question and topic was about healthcare.

Were Dems blackmailed on vote today?

No need to go into how bad everybody around here feels tonight about the war funding bill without the time-line. We all feel let down, betrayed, mad, left wondering just what the hell does our American Democracy mean anymore? Well, I just talked to a friend in Northern VA who attended a Democratic meeting tonight and spoke to a Democratic Congressman and left the conversation wondering WTF?

Caution: anti-war activists, stay off of FOX

Mon Mar 19, 2007 at 05:41:38 PM PDT

Just saw a nice young lady on Oreily's show trying to argue with him over why we need to get out of Iraq and stop torturing people. She was very intellegent and I agreed with her one hundred percent. Problem is, trying to argue with these Fox right wing shills is counter-productive and a waste of time! We need to stay away from this news outlet like we need to avoid the plague because it only gives them more gas for their fire. Our Presidential candidates have now set the example we all need to follow, ignore and avoid them, period!

aah Crap, Bush is back in my town today

Driving down the beach highway headed home from the store last night, I noticed the local police and city workers were out setting up temporary fencing alongside the road shoulder and blocking off the parking lots adjacent to the beach. I wondered what could be going on as I slowly approached a stoplight. While sitting there alone in the car it all of a sudden hit me: I remembered hearing something on the six o'clock news about President Bush returning to the Gulf Coast to visit. All of a sudden, once again, that feeling of being pissed off over living through the aftermath of Katrina six blocks away from the Gulf came back and possessed me all over again. Weird thing is, when I get mad over the storm this far down the road it isn't about all of the past misery and loss  of income that it caused me. I once again get the maddest over that arrogant, incompetent, spoiled-brat "daddy's boy" that has two more years to occupy the White House. God I wish he wouldn't come back down here!

A new idea for the Gulf Coast, a WPA program

Fri Feb 23, 2007 at 08:56:52 PM PDT

In my local Mississippi Gulf Coast paper today, I ran across an article that made me feel that there is some hope down here after all. Never mind the fact that I live in a red state that is also known for being one of the poorest in the nation. Never mind that the first week after Katrina I stood in lines for hours to get MRE meals and bottles of water next to people who drove SUV'S with Bush-Cheney 04 stickers still on the bumpers. Never mind that I had spent the last 15 years of my life living in Virginia and working as a union manager and organizer and in strategic positions in top level Democratic campaigns at the state and federal levels. And never mind the fact that since the hurricane the costs of rents, housing, insurance, groceries, and just about every darn thing I can think of ( with the exception of wages ) has doubled or tripled in this poor mans land. Today I saw a great idea!
