The Empress Has No PantSuit

By Saz.

Once upon a time, in the not so distant past or very near future, there lived a famous lady who dreamed of being Empress.   In some part, she was famous in the way that anyone who is smart and works hard is famous.   But in most part, she was famous for her husband.  He was FAMOUS!  For, in fact, he had been Emperor.  Not just any emperor, but The Emperor at a time when peace and prosperity reigned over the land.

NYT - Is Obama's Charity Giving Insincere?

Wed Mar 26, 2008 at 10:54:35 AM PDT

The New York Time has a new hit piece out on Obama, questioning his sincerity in making bigger charity donations after 2004.

The article by Leslie Wayne leads with this paragraph:

Senator Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, sharply increased their charitable donations as Mr. Obama began to run for president and the family’s income increased from book sales, according to tax returns that the couple released on Tuesday.

I find the lead in funny because it contains two possible reasons the Obamas increased their charity giving.  He was running for president or he made more money.

Which do you think the NYT's reporter went with?

LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN, CONSERVATIVE HYPOCRISY and HILLARY'S BETRAYAL

In case you missed it being outraged by Passportgate! There is a new essay at the Huffington Post on Religious Right and Republican hypocrisy by a guy who's been there, Frank Schaeffer

When Senator Obama's preacher thundered about racism and injustice Obama suffered smear-by-association. But when my late father -- Religious Right leader Francis Schaeffer -- denounced America and even called for the violent overthrow of the US government, he was invited to lunch with presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush, Sr.

Dear Hillary, We're Breaking Up.

Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 02:02:26 PM PDT

Dear Hillary,

We're breaking up.

When you first ran for Senate all my republican friends called you all sorts of unkind names.  I said,  you just don't know her, wait and see.   You worked hard, got respect and showed everyone that you weren't just riding your husband's coattails or was just doing it to be president.  I really respected you.

But now, Hillary, I am having my doubts.   You're reaching for that presidential nomination so bad, with all kinds of dirty tactics, that its beginning to look like you think you deserve it.
