comments on the Hotline item that interest groups that should sit on the liberal side of the aisle, and which should, as a result, direct their cash and support to liberal candidates, are sending that support to Republicans who are holding Congressional seats in blue-leaning states.

Why did President Bush hold a press conference today?
The prevailing wisdom is that it was a defensive maneuver, to push back hard against the illegal spying revelations.
I don't think so. I think this press conference is proof, one more time, that the old magic is gone from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. More in the body...
NY-GOV: Golisano closer to in

He founded -- and funded -- the Independence Party to get away from the influence of the two major political parties in New York State. When that didn't work, Rochester billionaire Tom Golisano decided it was easier to switch than fight.
Today, the Associated Press reports, Golisano filed papers to change his registration from independent to Republican.
BREAKING: Cindy's going home asap

CNN just now showed tape of a Cindy Sheehan news conference. She said her mother has had a stroke and she is heading home to be with her.
Cindy said, in the brief clip, that the camp would continue as other Gold Star Mothers were there.
Pray for her. And keep the strength flowing to Camp Casey.
BREAKING: WSJ: Secret Memo Was, In Fact, "Top Secret"

On Countdown right now, WSJ reporter says the memo was not only marked "S" for secret, it was also stamped Top Secret and had a marking that told the reader that the information in the memo was not even to be shared with friendly foreign governments.

If the WSJ is starting to score bulls-eyes, Rove's got a problem.
It's not necessarily a legal problem, but it's gonna get harder and harder for him to keep his job.
