Al Gore in 2008?

"The Once and Future Hope?" (WaPo: registration required)

Richard Cohen in The Washington Post has an article about possible Democratic contenders in 2008.  He gives a casual mention to Al Gore as a potential candidate.   Our memories of the 2000 election are fading.  The media has all but forgotten the man.  But think about it: he's from the South, more progressive (now at least), and experienced.

If you set out to create the perfect Democratic presidential candidate, you would probably choose someone from the South or the border states, since John Kerry lost virtually the entire region on Tuesday, and someone who is comfortable talking the language of religion and values, since John Kerry was not, and someone whose wife is identified with conventional values, and, last, someone who took a very early position against the war in Iraq, which John Kerry did not. Such a person already exists and, as luck would have it, has a name: Al Gore."

Outsourcing Like Crazy

From the LA Times: Office of Tomorrow has an Address in India

A very informative read on outsourcing and its possible impact on the U.S. economy.

The article often quotes from the co-founder of a major outsourcing company OfficeTiger.  This Joe Sigelman sounds like he's on a quest to farm out pretty much any entry-level semi-skilled job in the U.S.
