Port of Tacoma Escalation Protest Images

Wed Mar 14, 2007 at 02:54:54 PM PDT

Link to images from Monday night's (March 12th, 2007) protest rally and march.

Rumor has it that the USS Soderman has left the Port of Tacoma en route to the Middle East.

The following is cross posted at flickr.com (and elsewhere):

Impeachable Offenses, Nation, Land and Humanity

Fri Mar 02, 2007 at 09:42:20 PM PDT

Capitol North EntranceI attended a rally and hearing yesterday in support of Washington State Senate Joint Memorial (SJM) 8016, which would, if passed by the Washington State Legislature, call on the US Congress to begin a thorough and uncompromising investigation of actions by the Chief Executive, and the Vice of that office, that could lead to impeachment...

You can find a photo album of the event here.

After thinking about yesterday's events, the rally and the hearings, I have realized that they were a very profound experience for me.

During the hearings, I listened to the testimony of the expert witnesses and my fellow citizens as they urged the Senate Committee to adopt this bill (SJM 8016). The testifiers told their truths and then thanked the Senators for their work and for listening.

The Oil Factor: Behind the War on Terror

Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 10:16:49 PM PDT

Tonight, I went to a screening of The Oil War: Behind the War on Terror hosted by writer/director Gerard Ungerman.  The film was deeply informative regarding the oil assets of Central Asia, and America's relationship with that part of the world vis a vis oil and gas supply and demand.

America and the people of this nation are in a deep ethical quandry regarding the demand for oil.  3/4 of America's oil comes from abroad.  Americans are responsible for fully 25% of the world's daily oil consumption - even though the American population accounts for less than 5% of the world's population.

Blame and Vengeance Don't Work

Sat Nov 05, 2005 at 12:14:47 PM PDT

If we are to build a better future, for ourselves, for society, for the world and Mother Earth, then the notions of blame, vengeance (among other fear based social responses) must be left behind.

Bush frames battle of 21st century

Sat Oct 08, 2005 at 09:48:26 PM PDT

from the October 07, 2005 edition -

In a major speech, he outlined five key steps to combat terror.
By Howard LaFranchi | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor

WASHINGTON - President Bush went on the offensive Thursday with a spirited justification for the war on terror that sought to refocus Americans on what he sees as the central undertaking of this century: defeating the forces of Islamic radicalism.

In a speech that outlined his administration's step-by-step plan for confronting the 21st century's "ideology of hatred" and that restated why the battle is so important, Mr. Bush sought to address not only waning attention to the war on terrorism but also the debate over exactly why the US and the West are targets.

Citing 9/11 and a string of terrorist acts since 2001 stretching from Bali to London, Bush said, "No act of ours invited the rage of the killers - and no concession, bribe, or act of appeasement would change ... their plans" for burying liberty. [emphasis added]

Fitzgerald and Miller, Karl Rove?

Friday's edition of the Christian Science Monitor contains a comment by Daniel Schorr.  It is in regard to Judith Miller's (now three months') on going incarceration:

Terrorized by Bush and Company, "Neoconservatives" et. al.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 10:22:14 PM PDT

Ever since the SCOTUS appointed George Bush and Dick Cheney to the executive administration in the year 2000, I have felt a range of emotions and states of being: from apathy to depression; from incredulity to rage; brief glimpses of hope and encouragement to brief snatches of fear.

It is the last descriptor that I want to address here and now.

National ID Card by 2008

A new federal rule passed which requires states to comply with federal Identification guidelines, and tie in state information with an interstate ID network database.

The known unknowns of a national ID card

A new federal law now orders every state to create a standard system for driver's licenses. If Washington is not ready by May 11, 2008, your license won't get you on an airline flight or perhaps (they're not sure yet) allow you to open a federally insured bank account.

Another Reason For Firing Of Four Star General

Mon Aug 15, 2005 at 12:31:41 AM PDT

This is a story about the neo-conservative agenda and operations at the pentagon vis a vis nuclear weapons and the firing of General Kevin Byrnes...

There isn't much meat to the story, but it does raise some very interesting questions and concerns.

Nuclear Training Drill May Have Provided Another Reason For Firing Of Four Star General

Suspicions mount as to real reason why Army General Kevin Byrnes was fired for sexual misconduct only months prior to retirement. Sources close to the Pentagon say Rumsfeld has wanted to get rid of Byrnes for more than three years.

The Real Enemy: Neoconservatism

Wed Aug 10, 2005 at 11:37:18 PM PDT

The real enemy to America are psychopathic neo-conservatives.

Neo-conservatives have betrayed the republican party, they have contaminated not only the republican party, but America and the world with their filthy imperialist aspirations.

American's will benefit from an election cycle in 2006, which focuses on drawing out and focusing on the neo-con agenda.  Most American's are sensible, when the truth about the neo-cons is broadcast in the broader media structure, America's dissent and derision of all that the neo-cons stand for will serve to put these malicious killers out of power and hopefully where they belong, behind the bars of prison cells.

Bush and Blair Have Blood on their Hands

Mon Aug 08, 2005 at 02:54:11 PM PDT

If Bush and Blair knowingly used falsified evidence as justification for waging an unnecessary, immoral, and illegal war, as the Downing Street memoranda, and certain other points of evidence - see M. Smith's new story, suggest: then are they liable for the deaths of over 2,000 coalition troops and dozens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians?
