Sickos, Lady Dudes, & Satan-Driven Liberals

Thu Jun 28, 2007 at 03:29:06 PM PDT

Today I have seen more email from organizations urging me to attend the premiere of the movie Sicko tomorrow than I have for any other event in the past seven years. Too bad our theatre would not publicize their movie listings in advance so planning a movie party was impossible. Then I find out some local activist got the movie in advance from Moore and is doing a screening at his home outdoor theatre tonight, a day in advance. Cool!

The other things that have filled my inbox (and the blogs) are articles on Paris Hilton's jail release and the Queen of Trolls, Ann Coulter. I couldn't help thinking how the Paris-Hilton media outlets, Ann Coulter, and our corporate-controlled country that gave us our death-care healthscare system are all part of the same problem. The true Sickos are all united against the American people to distort, distract, and detour all the while dismantling our democracy.

Follow me on the flip.

Republicans Target Ron Paul

Tue Jun 19, 2007 at 04:32:36 PM PDT

Often times I get frustrated at how much the Democratic Party has been hijacked by the corporatist, anti-populist factions. Then I remember that it isn't just the Democratic Party that has been hijacked, but the Republican one as well.

Ron Paul sent out an email alert today, informing his newslist members that he was not invited to participate in the next Republican debate in Iowa.

Why? Did the fact that he kept winning poll after online poll after the first debate cause the censorship? Or could the fact he has online search engine traffic equivalent of Paris Hilton have something to do with it? It is amazing how machine will work inside the parties to make sure another voice is not heard. Regardless of what people may think of Ron Paul in the Republican Party or Gravel, Biden or Dodd in the Democratic one...I am firm believer in letting the people decide.

Pee on My Leg, Tell Me it's Raining (AZ 5 Edition)

Fri May 25, 2007 at 12:54:16 PM PDT

It's always interesting to see in the aftermath, what kind of bullshit the Democratic leadership will spew to try to spin their selling out America as a "win". With that sentiment in mind, I received my first email today from Rep. Harry Mitchell, AZ's 5th district. Harry won the seat through a lot of hard work and money on our part. This is one of two seats we snatched from Republicans in 2006. So we can be clear on Harry's votes, here is the rundown:

*He voted for the blank check on the Rule vote.
*For the first vote on the supplemental.
*For the second vote.

Well, at least he was consistent in selling us out.

His letter follows:

DCCC spinning their failure as a win

Thu May 24, 2007 at 06:59:35 PM PDT

This just in from the DCCC:

Breaking News: Because of your help, the House just passed legislation that will go to the White House that includes critical issues Democrats have been fighting for including: canceling the President's blank check in Iraq, raising the minimum wage, and increased funding for military health care and veterans' benefits, and help for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Wow. Let's all jump up and cheer. $100 billion that could have taken care of health care, jobs, etc. if fed to the killing machine.

I used to work for a boss like this. Who would spin everyone of his f@#k ups as something "good":

THEN:
Two weeks ago, President Bush vetoed our legislation to demand accountability in Iraq and declared he would only sign a bill without any accountability for his management of the war.

NOW:
Now, the President has agreed to accountability and reporting provisions. That means for the first time we can force the President to be held accountable for his endless war in Iraq. We canceled the President's blank check in Iraq.

Peaceful Warrior - Free Movie Night

Sun Apr 01, 2007 at 02:33:14 PM PDT

I have always considered myself a peaceful warrior. So, when I heard about the movie Peaceful Warrior based on the best selling novel, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" I decided I would attend it once it was released.

Well, apparently there has been a promotion going on the past three days that I just discovered today. If you have no plans for tonight, check out the movie free courtesy of Best Buy.

Nick Nolte stars, but that should not detract you. He can be good in films, despite his personal issues.

Progressives, Hacks & Mavericks: Your Vote Needed

Fri Feb 23, 2007 at 02:47:23 PM PDT

After a quick search, I didn't see anything posted on this and I suspect they are going to make a decision real soon. So, as my virgin diary, I decided to ask for your vote.

The maverick, Russ Feingold, is opening up his PAC, the Progressive Patriot's Fund to allow you to vote on who he should give his next $5000 check to. No, you don't have to be a donor to his PAC to vote (although I am and highly recommend it).

Normally I wouldn't pick sides as I see many good candidates on his list, however, the name of his PAC is PROGRESSIVE...which to me means an actual progressive should get the vote. There is also strategy involved here. Follow me on the flip and let me explain.
