why is Texas trying to execute him?

Wed Aug 29, 2007 at 05:25:46 PM PDT

In violation of rule 3 of the diary entry rules, I am reraising an issue I missed before, but raised to day on firedoglake

Brown was executed on July 19, 2006 for LaHood’s murder. If Foster didn’t kill LaHood, why is Texas trying to execute him? It’s the "law of parties," which states that a person can be held responsible for a crime committed by someone else. Texas is the only state where the law of parties applies to capital cases, where someone can be executed because of someone else’s actions.

4 miles from the ballot box and turn out is heavy

Tue May 15, 2007 at 08:34:47 AM PDT

The headline reads "Strong Voter Turnout" in this Republican county.

Google Maps says that the distance between the post office where my absentee ballot was mailed from, to the voter bureau where it was mailed to, is 4 miles, driven in 8 minutes.  Typical delivery time is 1 day, 2 at the most.  It took FOUR days for my request to reach the bureau, enough for me to miss the deadline.

So this Democarat cannot vote in this cycle.

Any news on the SD vote on abortion?

I edited the diary because this seems to be the only/first thread. Please recommend it if you want to keep the issue in front of Democrats this night. Previously I wrote .....

Corrected (Sen-ALL) & (PA-19) Senate campaign websites and a Woman's Right to Choose

Wed Sep 27, 2006 at 07:16:30 PM PDT

I decided to check out a website for a Democratic challenger in a house race in another state.  Like so many other Democratic websites, under the issues page, I could not find a reference to this candidates stand on a woman's right to decide whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term.  I decided to quantify my impression that a lot of candidates' websites skirt the issue, so to speak.

Over the weekend, I hope to look at the websites for the Democratic representatives listed in the daily election round-ups, but for today, I have completed a look at the senatorial campaign website, under their "Issues" section only; perhaps they commented elsewhere on their site.

See the results below.

According to the DCCC's GOPActionHouse.org, The Republican canidate, Todd Platts votes with Bush 84% of the time.  For the 1st session of the 109th congress, Platts voted for Family Research Council positions 77% of the time.  But he only earned a 27% lifetime rating from US Public Interest Research Groups Scorcard

We can do better!  See how on the flip.

Polling DailyKos: PA Conservative Democrats v. Progressive Democrats

Polling DailyKos:  PA Conservative Democrats v. Progressive Democrats

(This was going to be comment to this article, http://www.dailykos.com/...
but I have made it my first diary, as I was late to the discussion and because I wanted to add a poll.)

I was curious about the stance of Kossacks in relation to PA senate discussions, over time, (especially since one primary candidate seems to have positions more like Lieberman and another more like Lamont, but the two races seem to have very different support from the Kos community).

So I pulled the polls from the archives (find them below the jump).  I quickly and roughly grouped them discussion or leaning towards either the Progressive Democrat or the Conservative Democrat.

In truth, I do not think that this discussion or the polls are about Casey v. Pennacchio as much as is it about Conservative Democrat v. Progressive Democrat and perhaps stereotypes about Pennsylvania voters.
