Soap Box Free Speech: Open Plea to Democratic Law Makers

Fri Sep 29, 2006 at 10:44:53 AM PDT

I don't make a lot of post because there are some pretty sharp cookies at KOS that do a really tremendous job.  That being said.... I have a thought that has been pinging in my brain since my last trip to DC.  If the democrats really want to be heard they should get out of the capital building and make their way to the Washington Monument, the Vietnam Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial.... all those wonderful symbols of freedom.

They should bring with them a soap box and a bull horn.  They should stand there and filibuster to the wind.  I can only imagine the crowds that would eventually gather as Kennedy, Fingold, Biden, Clinton, O'Bama, Reid, Schumer, Kerry, Murtha, Pelosi, Boxer.... you know, the guy and gals who are supposed to be speaking the same language we are.

SO TO ALL THE SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN LOOKING FOR OUR SUPPORT I SAY........

WHAT IS THE MESSAGE: Is Yes and No in the Dem. Dictionary?

Sun May 07, 2006 at 08:07:42 AM PDT

I am losing my patience at this point.  It is now the second week in May.... 6 months to go and I still do not hear "The Message".  I am screaming at my TV, as Pelosi cannot seem to simply say, "YES" or "NO" to Russert.  Unless we get the message across, we are going to lose or not win enough.
We all know what the issues are.
1.) Iraq
2.) Terrorism
3.) Health Care
4.) Environment
5.) Torture
6.) Lobbyist
7.) Tainted Elections
8.) Taxing disparity
9.) Globalization
10.)Border Security
11.)Port Security
12.)Security period
13.)Iran
14.)Corruption
15.)Domestic Spying
16.)Incompetence
17.)Global Standing
18.)Diplomacy
19.)Sudan
20.)Israel
I could go on.

Bush wants to be Lincoln

Sun Feb 05, 2006 at 09:48:38 AM PDT

I have heard many of the Neocons fall back on Abraham Lincoln as being the greatest president to have every lived.  After all, he saved the Union through force and how they love all of that "shock and awe".  Despite the fact there where Democrats that where active in attempts to come to a peaceful compromise. The Copperheads or Peace Democrats where looking for a way other then war.  Obviously, the fractured Democratic Party of the 1860s was their own worst enemy and reason gave way to madness.

Alito Netscape Poll : Freep this Poll

OK, tried to bounce in and do this as a one liner, but rules are rules.  Anyhow, bouncing around I came across this poll on Netscape News and judging from the numbers, looks like we need to be represented.  Take a hike over there and give it your honest opinion.

Olympic flame hijacked

Wed Jan 25, 2006 at 10:06:14 AM PDT

ccording to The Independent,

Italian demonstrators have hijacked the Olympic torch on its way to the Winter Games in Turin in unprecedented protests targeting the event's sponsors, Coca-Cola.

Eleanora Berlanda, the Italian 1,500 metres champion runner, was pounding the streets of the northern city of Trent bearing the torch when eight protesters, their faces hidden by scarves, burst through barriers along her route and grabbed at it.

Ms Berlanda tried to fend them off, but was soon overwhelmed and gave up. Four of her attackers seized the torch and held it aloft. Police intervened and the flame was handed back to the runner, who continued on her way to Turin's ski slopes. The flame is due in Turin on 9 February for the Games, which run from 10-26 February.
