Tin Foil Hat Time, One Should Hope

Wed May 12, 2004 at 07:28:52 PM PDT

Now I pride myself on being reasonable and logical, but more than once I have been astounded at the lengths certain elements of this administration will go to to achieve their ends, and, more so, by their boldness.

Would they go so far as to murder an innocent man to win public support and distract people from issues?  At least two web sites suggest as much:

http://www.breakfornews.com/NickBergEnemiesList.htm

http://www.infowars.com/print/iraq/berg.htm

My first reaction was that even the neocons wouldn't be so bold as to try and pull something like this, but then I gave it a bit more consideration.  Why wouldn't they do it?  Experience has taught them that the press will never challenge them, no matter how brazen their actions.  And morality does not seem to be one of their guiding principles.

Please, tell me I'm just being paranoid.  Explain to me that while our political opponents are monterous, they are not monsters.

Vermont Exit Polls

Tue Mar 02, 2004 at 04:01:11 PM PDT

I don't even know the source on these numbers, so I can't vouch for them:

Dean       50%
Kerry      40%
Edwards     6% (write in)
Other       4%

Without Edwards on the ballot, Vermonters are left with a choice between a show of support for our enormously popular ex-Gov and a rubber stamp for Kerry.

CNN singles out Dean yet again

Tue Feb 10, 2004 at 11:10:07 PM PDT

The CNN Quickvote poll on their main page right now reads "Should Howard Dean stay in the race until the convention?"

Why is are they not asking whether the other candidates should be leaving the race?  Dean came out far ahead of both Clark and Edwards in Michigan, and even Kucinich beat them in Maine, but the media doesn't seem interested in calling on either one of them to quit the race.

If the only ratonal is that they each won a state that the Democrats will likely loose no matter who they run in the general election, it is an even sadder commentary on how the media views this pivotal moment in our country's history.

~sigh~
