Miles O'Brien Lies on CNN

Thu Aug 26, 2004 at 03:24:50 PM PDT

This is the text of the e-mail I sent to CNN because of their obvious willingness to do no actual interpretation of the news, but simply be a speakerbox for Bushco.  He said that the fact that John Kerry saved Jim Rassman's life was "in dispute"

Dear Mr. O'Brien,

I was watching CNN today and you stated that there was some dispute as to whether or not John Kerry saved Jim Rassman's life in Vietnam.  I was wondering, since you seem willing to allow facts to be so openly disputed, can I be invited on to state that the moon is made out of Key Lime Pie. I have seen the moon, I have eaten Key Lime Pie, and I am relatively able to say out loud that therefore the moon is made of Pie.  Since you seem so willing to overlook fact when making assertions, can I get some free airtime?

You are not a journalist, you are a parrot (see example)

SBVfT: " We have no concrete proof for any of our assertations, but John Kerry is a liar "

Miles O'Brien and CNN " John Kerry is a liar, squak! John Kerry is a liar "

At least when I watch Fox news I know I am being lied to, you seem to want me to believe you actually do research.  That seriously demeans my and most American's intelligence.

Sincerely,
Mr. Matthew Wisnefske

Zogby be out!

Not too much new, picked up lead a slim lead in Florida, but Bush's Ohio lead is growing.  More heartening is that now in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington St we are outside the margin of error, and have held on to our Tennesee (no way in hell) lead.

Not too bad, but like most of the new polls, nothing to shake a stick at.

Why the polls are BS

Sun Aug 01, 2004 at 03:09:06 PM PDT

I have seen some "OMG the sky is falling" talk here lately, O the media is spinning this against Kerry, no bounce, no bounce bull. Lets together take a moment to examine the polls and  think about this, shall we?

First, Mr John Zogby.  His poll stating that there was no bounce from the convention cited that from July 27-29 there was no real change. Kerry went from 2 up to 5 up, but his number didnt rise, Bush's Fell.  48-46 --> 48-43

http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=848

well, here's a thought! from July 27-29, what hadn't happened? Oh Yeah, KERRY'S SPEECH!  the fact the Bush fell when all that can be shown from this poll is the Clinton speech for 3 days and the Edwards from 1 day means that there was any movement is a great fucking sign.

Mr. Zogby then goes on to give us more information, even which he says means that the horserace numbers are suspect.  He shows Bush getting creamed with women, singles, hispanics, young voters, was tied with men and southerners and had a 25 pt lead with people who didnt vote last time.  If you look at this page, its almost tempting to call it for Kerry. (Bush had 19% hispanic support to Kerry's 69!)

http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=849

Now, the folks at Newsweek.  they give us a ginormous 2 day sample poll, one day of which, like Senor Zogby, was before the Kerry speech.  I dont know about you, but post convention bounces should probably be polled "post" convention, no? A further look at the internals here is also cherries jubilee! The post convention sample was Kerry 50% Bush 40%, only factoring the pre speech segment (which even these people said means that the poll is shit) led to the 7 point lead (49/42) Plus there are a number of down screen sub polls that shout, "WTF are you talking about?! No bounce my shiny metal butt!!!"

I dont have enough info on the CNN Gallup poll, but that there was huge discrepencies between Registered and Likely voters is telling, as is the fact that the poll hasnt been released yet and people are taking it for gospel.

Now, see, the bounce is there, and unless you think that the spin will be enough to remove it before Mr Mcswerveandcrash and Dick "fuck yourself" Cheney get their Neo-fest, go get a Mt dew if you're under 21, or a PBR if you're over it, and RELAX!

(Insert soothing Ocean noises here)

Brad Carson needs $$$ Too!

Sat Jun 19, 2004 at 11:23:39 PM PDT

Hi all,

As I am sure we are all aware, Brad Carson has an incredible opportunity to win the Senate Seat in Oklahoma.  Now I know he isnt in the DKos 8, but he is running a fundraiser, (with a baseball theme, wonder where he got that idea?) and could use the moneda!  Please be kind, I know I wish I could do more, but $$ will have to do.

The Kerry Administration

Wed May 19, 2004 at 03:26:57 PM PDT

OK all... Im tired of bad news, from Iraq to the economy to John Kerry only being slightly more intersting than the toenail on my pinky toe of my left foot... I want positive thoughts and optimism about the future...

And so, In line with the "Veepstakes" of which I am so sick of... I wanna see who we all want in the cabinet of the Kerry administration. Who are our favorites?  Who do we wanna see shaping the new agenda?

New Polls: We're winning!

Theres Blood in the water... and its looking red.
If Kerry can pick up some steam... Were looking at a 10 point lead and an electoral college lock in July

I'm still having a problem with this Kerry fellow

Sun May 09, 2004 at 01:37:16 PM PDT

Let me begin by saying, before you flame me, I'm voting for Kerry, because out of all my choices, his is the only logical one left.  Having said that, for the past year now, I just cant seem to bring myself to like, or even respect, this guy. He seems to equivocate on everything, and his first reaction to almost every problem is "what is the best poitical solution"  Now with this abuse scandal, he should be out in front offering us something... ANYTHING, but he remains tense, Senatorial, aloof.  I look at his voting record, and I dont see the progressive list that is so often touted as proof of his credentials, I see the political votes of a man from Massachusettes. I think if he were from Texas or Idaho, he'd be as conservative as Jesse Helmes if I got him re-elected.  I would never vote for Bush, and I hate Nader. I cant in good conscience leave the top slot blank, not in as important a year as this one, and not in a Battleground state... Wisconsin.  All of you who proclaimed he was the best choice, explain this to me, a former Dean and Edwards man, because I feel that these two, or Clark, would be railing on Bush and have a solid lead.  I mean, if we lose this one, then we have to do some looking at the media and the primary system, cause both are failing us if we come up with this "douchebagbutimvotingforhimanyway" BS ever again.

There, Ive vented, please feel free to vent as well.
