I wish I could blind myself

Tue May 09, 2006 at 11:21:17 AM PDT

I wish I could blind myself as others do. I wish I could make myself believe as they do. How much simpler my life would be, how much easier to sleep at night.

But like a howling psychosis that rumbles through the head of the sick I can't make my sight leave me, and the visions keep coming true.

Pete Stark Town Hall Meeting - Deafening Silence and Shame

Sat Apr 01, 2006 at 03:16:03 PM PDT

I went to a town hall meeting today that was being hosted by California's 13th District representative Fortney "Pete" Stark. I am ashamed of my congressman today.

Ivy League and the Left: Failures on both sides

Wed Dec 07, 2005 at 10:43:46 AM PDT

Those who know me personally know that I've been a fan of Camille Paglia ever since she shared pages in Playboy with the Chairman of the Board's daughter, Nancy Sinatra. I was doing some searching on the internet to see if she'd done anything new and ran across an old transcript of a speech she'd given at MIT in September of 1991

There's a lot there, but most notably there is the prediction of the rise of the neocons and the cause of it.

Big Giant Head and Logic Loops: O'Reilly almost right about something?

Thu Nov 17, 2005 at 11:58:05 AM PDT

As much as it makes me feel slimy to do so, I visit the websites of right-wing pundits just to see what they've got to say for themselves. I try to justify the website hit they get by saying to myself that I've cost them a portion of their monthly bandwidth, but the truth is that I try to be fair, even to those who really don't deserve it, like the Big Giant Head Bill O'Reilly.

I guess these guys can't be wrong ALL the time, just most of the time, and since finding common ground is one of the only ways we'll win the war of words against these cretins I have a tendency to search for that common ground.

BushCo and His Homeless Children

Sun Sep 18, 2005 at 05:14:44 AM PDT

I realized, after about 4 days in a row of working more hours than I actually slept, that things simply aren't going to get any better soon. There is no cavalry coming, no dawn, only an extended dark night. This is how the homeless feel as winter comes and daylight dwindles to a few precious hours. Only for them, there will be no going home for the holidays, no turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, no family to be with, just the sounds of life going on around you and the deafening sound of silence and the horrible realization that nobody cares if you live or die.

America is homeless, ousted onto the streets by our scolding parents who insist we 'do something with our lives or else.'
