David Shuster Makes Good With Hillary (with Video Snark)

Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 07:46:38 AM PDT

Last week, the otherwise excellent reporter, David Shuster was substitute hosting the always obnoxious Tuckers! show on MSNBC and made a very unfortunate comment about the Clintons "pimping out their daughter, Chelsea."

The 40ish Shuster argued forcefully in his own defense, cleverly disquised as an apology, that no insult to Chelsea's virtue was intended, but that he was merely employing a modern, if crude choice of words to make a larger point.

Whether that point is that the Clintons have added prostitution to their evil arsenal of dirty tricks, is still open to debate.

Speaking of "dirty tricks," one has to wonder just what the standards for customer's hygiene would be for a First Lady-cum-Madame or a Former President-cum-Pimp.

Oooohhh.  That was a low blow, wasn't it?

Speaking of "low blows," are we now compelled to speculate on their prices?

A possible "Happy Ending" after the flip.

LIVE Blogging:Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner Live on C-Span- Edwards speaks 1st

This is a short diary, but I haven't seen another on the subject so I'll put one up.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

politicsiowa.com is reporting that John Edwards will be kicking things off at this important Iowa event, and that it is one of the last opportunitys for Iowans to see all the candidates at once, and has been used in the past  to unveil new campaign themes, such as in 2003 when John Kerry debuted his "Real Deal" theme.

They are also reporting  HRC will unveil her new campaign theme:

First, my apologies to Carol Burnett, for paraphrasing her line in her legendary "Gone With The Wind" sendup. It was so pitch-perfect, I don't know how she got thru it, wearing that fabulous Bob Mackey creation, complete with curtain rod.

But since it seems like it's getting more and more acceptable to tell the truth about Senator Hillary Clinton, as long as Barack Obama gets credit for it, I thought I'd offer this:

Timmeh and John Edwards at the Auction

Tue Oct 16, 2007 at 06:26:41 AM PDT

On Sunday, October 7th, John Edwards was on Meet The Press and Timmeh gave him the what for about the dire warnings, even mentioning this website by name, about the hazzards of taking public financing.

I was astonished by John Edward's response.

"This is going to be an election, Tim.  It's not going to be an auction."

My original tribute to JRE, for putting his host, and those who think he can't survive a General Election, is below the flip.

It's just over a minute.

This is so creepy, I don't know how to diary it  :Updated

Tue Aug 28, 2007 at 06:55:41 AM PDT

I hope this story  from the Boston Globe turns out to be just one of those things that sometimes happens when a populist campaign turns all fiery, the way John Edwards' has.

Update:
TPM is reporting that:

Man Arrested For Impersonating Edwards Aide
Florida man Michael Duga, a career criminal whose record includes selling drugs and car-jacking, has been arrested for making his way into a John Edwards event by falsely telling people he was a former staffer for ex-Senator Max Cleland (D-GA) — as it turns out, Cleland did have a staffer who was also named Michael Duga.

She Got 18 Months in Prison for Refusing To Commit Perjury: CRASH producer to make film.

The Right Wing Echo Chamber is furiously blogging and sending out lists of friends and felons (sometimes both) that Bill Clinton pardoned for use as talking points by their minions.

One of the first mentioned, ironically, is a name that's familiar to any of us who helplessly watched the horror of the Kenneth Starr Inquisition: Susan Mcdougal.

I say 'ironically' because, unlike Scooter Libby, Susan Mcdougal actually served 18 months, many weeks of which were in solitary confinement,  because she refused to lie or to be led into a deviously crafted perjury trap set by the Starr Chamber.

To many of us, and I include myself, she is a hero.

C-SPAN lets The Savage Nation Speak for itself

Washington Journal's Brian Lamb read hate letters from the denizens of Michael Weiners Savage Nation this morning, complaining, at his behest, about C-Span's "censorship."

Appallingly, C-Span failed to air the acceptance speech by Mr. Weiner.

Migrant Whales: Can Lou Dobbs save us from them? Updated (with fishing poll)

Wed May 30, 2007 at 02:45:45 PM PDT

Dam!

That's no typo.  We need to dam our damned river deltas at their gaping mouths before any more of these so-called "Wayward" whales sneak into our pristine rivers and completely clog them.
How long will it be before folks in Minnesota are needing ever bigger fish hooks, and our Walleye population is on the verge of extinction because of these monsters?  How high-test will our line have to go before America wakes up to this threat?

All this, a-hem, dare I say, foolish talk a of compromise on some sort of "comprehensive" migration plan is endangering the sovereignty of our Nation's waters

dKos sovereignty threatened (with poll)

Mon May 07, 2007 at 06:50:41 PM PDT

Lou Dobbs was on his latest tirade about the "illegals" crossing our borders to steal our jobs, infect us with leprosy, and clog our schools and hospitals.  In an effort to ignore him, I started scrolling down the recent diary list till I came to this diary  which positively sent a shiver down my spine.

Splitting hairs:  How John Edwards can remain my mane man

Wed Apr 18, 2007 at 11:03:32 AM PDT

I can barely afford a haircut at all, and certainly not a $400.00 one, but I do not begrudge Sen. Edwards the pricey cut he got from Joseph Torrenueva of Beverly Hills.
Hell, it was a bargain when you compare it to  Laura Bush's $700.00 haircuts, which we probably pay for involuntarily thru our taxes.

Rightosphere shows the Edwards their love

Thu Mar 22, 2007 at 09:41:11 AM PDT

First, Thank God Elizebeth  is such a strong and dignified person.

I can't do this subject justice, and am torn between ignoring these Rightwingers so my thoughts can be purely on Elizebeth Edward's well-being
and my personal disgust at the nature of many of the comments I've seen over on politico.com.
I'm reminded of the faux outrage expressed by the MSM ove comments made at HuffingtonPost and by Bill Mauer on his show after the bomb exploded near Cheney in Iraq.

Nightmare before Valentines Day: photo gift catalog for RightWing Women

Tue Feb 13, 2007 at 01:52:44 PM PDT

Only one Shopping Day till Valentines Day, so all you guys, (and you too, Mary Cheney) better get on the stick and send Michelle or Anne whoever you fancy something extra special.
And Don't Send the same old boring flowers!  This year, why not send them something they'll truly love, like a hunky Vermin Teddy Bear.

Dead Eye Dick's Forgotten Anniversary

I don't know how this got by me!  Yesterday marked the paper Anniversary of Dick and Harry's amazing hunting trip.  This, at about the same time that Gene Pitney, who had the hit single "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (written by Burt Baccarach) died.

Many of you have probably gotten so carried away with trying to salvage what's left of the US Constitution and democracy, you may have forgotten all about the importance of taking your daughter to the nearest zoo, tame quail pen, or kennel to  impress on her the importance of our remaining Second Amendment.
That's what our Vice President, Dick Cheney will be doing with his daughter Mary to celebrate our mid-term election.

Bachmann ad (MN-06) beyond "Nasty"

Sun Oct 22, 2006 at 05:09:33 PM PDT

Maybe I'm just thin-skinned, cause that's what happens when you've had to develop the broad shoulders it takes to endure the GOPs onslaught of attacks on your preferred candidates over the years, but I believe the Bachmann campaign has reached a low point.

Roll Out The Perils ( Theme Song / Flash Video for the GOP)

Sun Oct 15, 2006 at 09:01:32 PM PDT

Being poor and unable to contribute much financially to the overthrow of the Republican Party on November 7th, I have done the only thing I know how to do beyond working phone banks. Which I have faithfully done, and will continue to do.

First, I should explain that I fancy myself to be something of a songwriter and am an occasional performer, but because most of my material around election time tends to get very topical (in my own mind urgent, even), it lacks the shelf life of heros like Woody Guthrie or Dylan.

Sadly, I lack their musical skills, too.

It occurred to me recently that the greatest favor I could do the Democratic Party might be to write and animate a Theme Song for the Republicans.

Who Will Cry For Mary Cheney? with poll

Sun Jun 18, 2006 at 05:21:52 PM PDT

Not her daddy, that's for sure! On Monday, June 26th,  Dick Cheney is coming to Minnesota to tell the world and his gay daughter Mary how "supportive" of her he actually is, by attending a fundraiser for leading homophobe and anti-gay marriage amendment proponent State Sen. Michelle Bachmann.  Sen. Bachmann is the Republican-endorsed candidate for the US 6th District seat currently held by US Senate candidate Mark Kennedy.
Multi-millionaire hosts William and Karen Hawk's
$5 Million home in Minnetrista is not in Sen. Bachmann's US 6th district, but that won't be stopping Mary's daddy from showing up.
For a mere $250.00, you can attend a reception with him, and if you want a picture with him, that will only set you back $1,000.00.

Dixie Chicks On CBS 60 Minutes

Sun May 14, 2006 at 04:37:13 PM PDT

Who can forget they refused to back down about their "ashamed Bush is from Texas" comments a long time before Steven Colbert stood up for us? You don't have to love their music, or country music, but you gotta give them their props! I had said I was going to take this diary down quickly and was using it only as a "Heads Up," but after watching them, I realize this was also about the big line of crap Michelle Malkin and the right wing thugs are trying to pass off about left wing hysteria. These musicians recieved death threats. They are not backing down. As more and more entertainers and brave souls stand up to Bush and his complicit steno pool, we need to honor and promote them.
