How Would Laura Bush for President Make You Feel?

Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 10:48:12 AM PDT

Let me first say that if Mrs. Clinton had gotten the nomination, I would've voted for her in a New York Minute. Everything Obama said about her yesterday was true: She has busted her butt for Democrats. But yesterday when it became apparent that it was officially over, I said to my girlfriend "We just dodged a bullet".  I'll explain why I felt that way below that imaginary crease in the paper...

I'd Never Say Hillary's On Drugs!

Sun Mar 02, 2008 at 06:55:02 PM PDT

Now some people have been saying Mr. Obama is a Muslim. One of the items entered into "evidence" is the infamous photograph of Barrack Obama during a visit to Africa, taken while he was wearing the local, tribal garb.

It's that same shot we've all seen a million times now:

H&B

Nevermind that it doesn't look like Muslim garb. That's not what's important. He just looks different and often, that's enough for some people in politics to run with.

Mrs. Clinton tonight didn't take the high road by putting to rest all doubts that Barrack Obama is a Christian. Instead she said:

I take him at his word that he's not a Muslim

That's not very unequivocal.

So in that same not-very-unequivocal vein, I'd like to state as plainly as I can that:

I do not think Hillary Clinton is on drugs!!

Follow me below the fold where I back up my statement with photographic evidence not unlike that picture of Mr. Obama in Africa...

The Savage Weiner Burns

Wed Jan 23, 2008 at 06:46:58 PM PDT

(My apologies if this has already been diaried; if so, I'll delete. I couldn't find it if it has...)

One of Hate Radio's most f***ed up personalities, Michael "Weiner" Savage is not having a good day. A campaign that was launched by  Brave New Films is having a most desireable effect. Sponsors like  Intuit,   Chattem,   ITT Technical Institute and   Union Bank are all pulling ads from Mr. Weiner's "Savage Nation" radio talk show. Just a few reasons why below the fold.

I Just Donated $50 To John Edwards and Why. Join Me?

Fri Jan 04, 2008 at 02:03:57 PM PDT

I know there are a lot of Edwards supporters here at DK, many of whom have busted their asses for John Edwards. The disappointment was palpable last night when Barack Obama pulled out his victory. However, I DO want to congratulate Mr. Obama on a well-fought campaign. If he's the party's nominee, he'll have my vote. I guess I just wanted to express why he's my second choice and encourage all of the Edwards supporters out there, if they can, to give what they can, for the next battle in New Hampshire. It's shaping up to be a tough fight. To use the flogged-horse sports analogy, it's 4th down and we're down by two touchdowns and, at least in New Hampshire, the "other" team has the ball - AND the clock's running out! It's now or never. Anyway, here's how I feel and why I just gave 50 bucks to John Edwards and hope you will too... It's below the fold.

I have no plans to look at those flowers

Thu Nov 08, 2007 at 07:23:48 PM PDT

OK, if you read nothing else in this diary, please read this: Al Gore's not running! I know that. I'm cool with that. So if some &#@! leaves a comment along those lines they deserve thirty days in the Daily Kos Stockade because that's not what this diary is about! I say that because I wrote a diary yesterday that was not about Al Gore running for president but you'd never know that by many of the comments. No, the diary was about my receiving an email from an organization that was hitting me up for money, yesterday to put Al on the ballot in California. Please follow just a little more down below...

Would Al Gore Please $#!t Or Get Off The Pot?

Wed Nov 07, 2007 at 06:43:11 PM PDT

First let me say that if Mr. Gore throws his hat in the ring, I'll be the first to support him. I want to support him - I really do. But his coy ambiguity is truly driving me insane! Second, it's not the intention of this diary to drum up support for a (very barely) possible Gore bid for presidency. I'm done with that; don't worry. Lastly, I feel compelled to apologize, not only for another Al Gore diary, but the brevity; there's not a lot to say that hasn't already been said - and read - a million times here at DK. But I must say I'm really, really frustrated - again - because of an email I just received and would like to get it off my chest. More below the imaginary crease in the page...

Iraq? Fuhgettabout it. It's All About Iran Now

Fri Sep 28, 2007 at 11:12:51 AM PDT

Scott Ritter has an excellent essay over at Truthdig, the gist of which is this: The number one priority of the American anti-war movement should no longer be about Iraq, but Iran. If he's right, the feces is about to hit the oscillater. More below the fold:

Breaking: Space Shuttle Tile Damage Discovered

Fri Aug 10, 2007 at 04:37:41 PM PDT

Miles O'Brien, who is sitting in for Wolf Blitzer on CNN's Situation Room has just reported that the Space Shuttle Endeavour has experienced yet another tile failure.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, I cannot find a link to it on CNN's site. A little more below the fold:

Bush Admin Subpoenas Michael Moore

Fri Jul 27, 2007 at 04:17:48 PM PDT

Apologies if this has been diaried. If so, I'll delete. I'm also hastily typing before running out, so I hope it makes sense! :)

According to NYDailyNews.com The Bush administration has subpoenaed Moore over his trip to Cuba with 9/11 rescue workers. Imagine you're turning a page to read more below the fold...

CNN Ad: Head hurt yet?

Fri Jul 20, 2007 at 07:34:37 PM PDT

First an apology for whining about something so banal and insignificant. I understand there are far more pressing issues to discuss and debate. I also understand that the "elves" working behind the scenes here at Daily Kos  (Let's give 'em a hand, folks!) have absolutely no control over what a CNN ad looks like.

Nope, I'm just here to bitch and moan so if you agree, tumble over the imaginary crease in the page...

John Edwards in Roanoke, Va - With Pics!

Thu Jul 19, 2007 at 10:14:40 AM PDT

Since Prog227 has already written an excellent diary about about John Edward's appearance in Roanoke, Virginia last night, I just thought I'd add some photographs to let folks have a look.  As Prog227 reported, there were a few, real live TROLLS out front of Shaftman Performance Hall and when they saw I had a few rather formidable-looking cameras around my neck, started yelling at me to take their picture, so I'll include a few shots of their hypocrisy about hypocrisy. Pics below the fold:

God Tells Bush How He Feels

In light of today's unfortunate developments I thought a little levity might be in order. It's below the fold:

Sorry, I still have hope - No Poll!

Tue May 22, 2007 at 08:20:07 PM PDT

I'm afraid I must agree with pretty much everything that One Pissed Off Liberal discusses in his excellent rant about the un-endurable crap we've had to endure today. In that diary OPOL says:

"But watch how many people come into this thread and start with the bullshit rationalizations...AGAIN!"

I'm not going to rationalize anything. They sold us down the river. But I do have a few un-asked for thoughts and observations to make below the fold.

What makes a Koolaid Drinker drink?

Tue May 08, 2007 at 08:09:30 PM PDT

Lars's very well-written diary  Red to Blue: Confessions of a Former Loyal Bushie got me to thinking about why people who are so obviously gifted and intelligent, drink - or have drunk - from the bottomless well that is Rethug "Koolaid". It's often impossible for many of us to understand why. Below the fold are some of my  very unscientific observations with a few rhetorical questions thrown in for good measure:

Some things we need to point out

Mon Nov 14, 2005 at 06:35:36 PM PDT

I'm watching Senator Kit Bond on Hardball doing what republicans do best - apologizing for George W. Bush's war. We all know they're factually wrong when they "remind" everyone that the dems and repugs looked at the same intelligence. There are more examples but democrats certainly are not privvy to the Presidential Daily Briefings for example. Once again the POTUS at best has not told the whole truth, and at worse he lied yet again in his speech on Veteran's Day defending the indefensible and calling those who disagree unpatriotic.

Now we're all used to Dubya's proclivity for living in some alternate universe (You're doing a heckuva job, Brownie) But can someone please explain to me - forgive me - how practically every other fucking republican can conveniently reside in La-La Land while explaining away this war?

I think we need some newer and perhaps a bit more aggressive talking points. Let me explain below the fold:

Tone down the rhetoric?

Tue Oct 04, 2005 at 07:59:05 AM PDT

Why is it that every time George W. Bush comes on the television I feel physically ill? I'm serious - I have to, at the very least, hit the mute button and usually that alone doesn't work; I have to change the channel. The very sight of the guy makes me want to hurl and his voice is like fingernails on a blackboard. This same phenonmenon happens to most of my friends and most of the people I know and respect. I cannot recall feeling this way about anyone else, ever - even Richard Nixon and yes, I'm old enough to remember him well.
