Just got the following email dump from the Snohomish County Democrats. Thought I would pass it along
Everett, WA – Today U.S. Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02), who will serve as a super delegate to the Democratic National Convention, endorsed Barack Obama for President of the United States of America. Larsen released the following statement:
"Today I am endorsing Senator Barack Obama for President. I believe Senator Obama is the best candidate to turn our country’s hopes for a better future into reality.
Obama hired an out of state phone bank to inform his supporters to go to the caucus. Unfortunatly they had the wrong day, telling people to go to the caucus location on Sunday and not on Saturday. Of course the first response was "it's a Clinton dirty trick" but as it turns out, it was just a mistake.
This is really emblematic of the smearing going on around here lately. It's great that everyone is paying attention, especially the hordes of new comers that both candidates have attracted. But, unfortunatly, the first response out of many people's mouths is scandel. Truth is, most of the time honest mistakes are to blame for the problems that come up during campaigns.
Just got this from the Patty Murray email list. I'm sure she won't mind if I pass it along to the dKos community.

Gregoire has come out swinging against her upcoming opponent Dino Rossi. In 2004 Gregoire and Rossi took it down to the wire, with Gregoire winning on the third recount of the election. One of Rossi's main attack lines was that Democrats are bad for business.
Hey Dino, back at you buddy, how do you like them apples?
Seems like everyday we show up and fight over this Democratic candidate or that candidate. I'd just like to say, that come hell or high water, I'm going to be working my behind off for the nominee come this fall. We've all seen what 8 years of Bush has looked like with false war reasons, signing statements, emergency appointments that last forever, secret prisons and a never ending effort to spy on us.
I'll be working to stop all that in the fall. All three fo the top candidates will make one hell of a president. I'd be proud to walk into the booth and pull the lever for any of them.
In the end we are all Democrats and we should be proud of that.
[blockquote] SAN ANTONIO Nov 16, 2006 (AP)-- Clear Channel Communications Inc., the nation's biggest radio station owner, said Thursday it has agreed to be acquired for about $18.7 billion by an investment group.
The transaction would be one of the biggest deals in which a company has been taken private, and showcases the vast sums that buyout groups have been able to assemble to acquire public companies.

In addition they are selling 40 some odd tv stations and almost 500 radio stations. Is this the end for our not so liberal friendly media congolmerate?
One of the memes that has emerged from this election is that the new Democrats are centrists and that the party has shifted to the right. Bleh, we all know the truth, but why let that get in the way of hammering home the problems with the Rethuglicans.
Let's Rove this and attack into the spin. From this point on the new meme should be that the Republicans have gone so far to the right that honest hard working folk just can't be Republicans any more. Nobody wants to be an extremist and that is what it means to be part of the party of Rove.
So, don't be ashamed of the spin. Instead turn to your Republican friends and say "I guess good people are just realizing how out of the main stream Republicans have become". Give them a chance to switch without showing up the reasons they voted R in the past.
Is it too early to start thinking about 2008? If 2004 is any indication we should start to see the shake out of our intra party fight take shape by mid December as the candidates start trying to round up the troops for the 07 first quarter fundraising litmus test. Sounds like a bunch of fun.
So before we get all divided into our Hillary, Obama and Clark camps is there anything we can do in the next month?
Just flipping by Fox a few seconds ago and Gretta was trying to get comments on a story that will be published by the Washington Times in about an hour. The story goes that Russian Special forces were seen moving the explosives from their depot into Syria. Supposedly this happened just before we launched the war effort.
Anyone have any additional info on this? On the face it seems like a bad lie by the administration. If people start to ask questions it will fall apart quick. Why didn't we bomb the trucks? Why would the Russians care to move those explosives? Why didn't we confront them at the time if we knew about it?
It stinks, they know it stinks, but will it hold off the hounds for the weekend and through the election. Is this the wage the Rove moment of this election?
Update [2004-10-27 23:0:16 by kamosa]: Looks like the Right has their marching papers on this one. I just caught Buchanon making the same charge on MSNBC. Get on this folks.
You and I both know what we watched last night. Joe Scarbrough declared Kerry the clear victor in the debate last night. 72% of people on CNN's poll said Kerry won the debate, Bush running just a little ahead of both did well.
Kerry stomped Bush a new one. He won the expectations game, he won the debate and now int he post debate period, when he could use that win to push forward his numbers the SCLM is focused on.... wait for it...
Horse race issuses...And how people always "Spin" debate performances. So, if you hear a co-worker talking about how well Kerry looked compared to Bush, please remember that person is "Spinning for Kerry" not giving you an honest opinion of the debate.
I am so sick of this crap. If Bush even shows up the media gives him 4 stars triple A+ and predicts a 10 point bounce. If he doesn't and Kerry cleans his clock they focus on how people lie to make candidates look better.
This is how we are losing and will continue to lose. I hate this so much.
By now you've seen the smear campaign going on about the documents that show GW didn't show up for his guard duty and didn't follow orders.
Well, guess what the woman behind this smear is a donor to "The Wish List" which is a GOP group that recruits and trains GOP candidates. Kind of a Rethuglican Emily's list.
Look for Sandra Ramsey Lines in the following document.
Oil it $47.40 per barrel today. How much farther must it go up before we start to feel serious effects on the economy? Answer we are already feeling the effects.
"The U.S. uses 20 million barrels of oil a day. Prices are currently inflated by about $15 a barrel, and that additional cost is effectively a $300 million dollar-a-day tax on Americans, eating away at disposable income for people in this country," said Gheit, adding that no tax break would be able to offset an amount that large.
Seems like we have been booting around the idea of getting the WA state Kossaks organized enough to hold a meet up or something similar.
As much as we all love DailyKos, this seems like the wrong tool to start this organization process. Diaries go by to quickly, and I'm sure the other 49 states will get tired of hearing about our efforts fairly quickly.
So, I was thinking that we should set up a yahoo group or a group on meetup.com. That would allow us to organize our efforts and get us out of everyone's hair.
WASHINGTON - Over two decades, the income gap has steadily increased between the richest Americans, who own homes and stocks and got big tax breaks, and those at the middle and bottom of the pay scale, whose paychecks buy less.
The growing disparity is even more pronounced in this recovering economy. Wages are stagnant and the middle class is shouldering a larger tax burden. Prices for health care, housing, tuition, gas and food have soared.
The wealthiest 20 percent of households in 1973 accounted for 44 percent of total U.S. income, according to the Census Bureau. Their share jumped to 50 percent in 2002, while everyone else's fell. For the bottom fifth, the share dropped from 4.2 percent to 3.5 percent.
From the threads I've noticed that there are a lot of Kossaks from the Seattle area. I was wondering if we could get a quick roll call just to see who and how many are hear.
So, list your Name and City if your from Washington.
The U.S. trade deficit widened much more than expected in June, hitting a record $55.8 billion as the biggest drop in exports in nearly three years combined with record imports, the government said on Friday.
Wall Street economists had expected the deficit to widen, but looked for a gap of just $47 billion. In its report, the Commerce Department also revised May's trade shortfall to $46.9 billion from the previously reported $46.0 billion.
I'm one of those liberals that agrees with free trade, but this shows that we are not managing our trade relations in a way that can handle free trade. We need to be exporting more, not less products. We need to be making more, not less products, but that's another story.
We all know why Kerry is on the path to victory now. However, the Right wing wind bags will need to make up reasons to explain why their perfect leader didn't win the election. So, let's have a little fun... What excuses can we expect to hear in Freeper land on Nov 3rd?
My guesses:
Al Queada hacked the elections. WE ALL KNOW that the left has been pointing out the vulnerability of electronic voting machines, so maybe some mid east hacker subverted the vote.
Hillary pulled some of that Manchurian Candidate crap on John Edwards, to get even with Bill taking Edwards wife to somewhere nicer than Wendy's.
The liberal media stupid. I heard it on Limbaugh, or Scarbrough, or Fox News, or maybe from the Wolfer that the liberal media wanted Bush to lose so they rigged the elections.
How can you announce surging profits and layoffs on the same day. This is beyond hubris on the part of management. This is why I think we are in a corporate profits bubble right now that may burst at any point. They are undermining the very foundation of our economy to get the last few inches of "profitability" out of their company. At some point though, the foundation will give out and all will come tumbling down. This is maddness.
