We'll never be positive again...
Fri Apr 18, 2008 at 08:27:29 AM PDT
I've spent so much of my time in negativity when it comes too politics. I've spewed hate and anger over and over again in postings and conversations. I despise Republicans for what they've done to our country and our democracy and the world, but something settled in with me today that has me sadder now than I've been in a long time...
Listen to outraged Dems! - Spineless Wasserman Schultz Just Stepped In It!
Thu Nov 08, 2007 at 09:56:54 AM PDT
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz just stepped in a load of crap on local 940 WINZ this morning. The phones lit up with outraged Dems calling up screaming about the outrage of her refusing to say she will vote no on Iraq funding, help with impeachment, etc. etc. I have never seen anything like the calls and emails that flooded the station.
Listen to the calls here. I am the first caller.
Warning to fans of Hillary Clinton that like to troll rate. I slam Hillary in my call, because Wasserman Schultz has endorsed her and I think that is likely why she has become less of a Democrat and Progressive on these issues and less willing to have the backbone to do what the American people want. Don't listen if you don't want to hear it.
Links to original interview and emails are here.
Who are these people? Why are you voting for her?
Fri Oct 26, 2007 at 02:42:56 AM PDT
I just read this diary about the numbers on Hillary and I think it is time to ask who the hell these people are that are voting for Hillary Clinton. I mean, these are primary voters. They are supposed to be more informed than the general electorate.
They have to know...
- that a good percentage of the population can't stand her
- that she is in fact a triangulating poll player
- that she likely will get slammed in the general
- that Republicans are salivating over the prospect of her candidacy
- that she sells out to the highest bidder
- that she is/was for the war in Iraq and is lying about pulling our troops out and will in fact keep them in
- that she has sold out on the principles of health care for all
- that she has the charisma of a frog and couldn't inspire anyone
- and on and on and on and on.
Are you really voting for her because she is a woman?
Would you really throw your vote away?
Can someone, anyone please explain to me who these people are that do not see her for what she is.
Dear Presidential Candidates You are on notice... smell test
Fri Aug 03, 2007 at 05:44:12 AM PDT
Dear Presidential Candidates,
Something stinks in here.
The old adage of actions speaking louder than words should definitely guide your decisions when it comes to this community. We are not a bunch of naive children that have never had a come-on by a sales guy. We are not too enamored by your celebrity to think that everything you say is true.
LGF Beats Daily Kos? Are you kidding?
Thu Dec 14, 2006 at 05:25:09 AM PDT
Hey folks get your collective butts over to the weblog Awards and vote for DailyKos. The nutjob scum bags over at Little Green Footballs are winning and voting closes on Friday. Recommend this diary if you want to make sure everyone else votes too, because to let that loser win would be tragic.

Welcome To Our F'ing Party - Republicans - Email From an R Friend
Wed Nov 08, 2006 at 06:44:55 AM PDT
A long time Republican friend sent me this excellent email this morning. Made my already fantastic day even better.
My Friends email:
Well Boys, I did my part and voted primarily Democratic this election. (Still voted for Crist) Bottom line for me Republicans did not earn the right to govern for so many reasons.
My reply:
That is great news! Welcome to the dark side. :)
Seriously though.. they had their chance and proved that they are incompetent - a train wreck. While not perfect, Democrats know how to run government - fairly.
Welcome...
to the party of fiscal responsibility.
to the party of fairness
to the party of civil liberties, libertarian values, and privacy
to the party of tax fairness
to the party of smart foreign policy
to the party that wants to actually catch the terrorists and treat the root cause of terrorism
to the party of environmental sensibility
to the party of equality for all
to the party of true opportunity
to the party of ethical standards
to the party of small business
Just welcome to the fucking PARTY! We need you, want you and look forward to your active participation.
Holy Cow! - Surprise Pickup In Florida - Calderin in FL-25
Mon Oct 30, 2006 at 10:16:41 AM PDT
This is a shocker. Just received an email from my friend Democratic County Chair Jimmy Morales here in Miami-Dade county, FL.
Michael Calderin is in a statistical dead heat with Mario Diaz-Balart. This would be a SWEET pickup. Please click over to the site and
give what you can. If you are in South Florida volunteer your time. This is one of those Holy Shit I can't believe we have a chance at this one races.
Below the fold is the email from Jimmy. It could certainly be statistically in the margin of error, etc. and he won't win, but would love to see this long shot win happen in my congressional district. Don't forget the .01 at the end of your contribution so they know where it came from. I am going to let Jimmy know the Dkos is coming. ;) Calderin is a geek, so the victory would be all that much better.
Frame Shop - Racist R Busted! - Dems Frame It as a "Foley" - Brilliant!
Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 05:33:07 AM PDT
Seems like we Dems are getting smarter everyday. I had the pleasure of picking up the Miami Herald this morning to this headline:
Arza won't heed calls to resign
So far so good. Republican gets outed by another Republican for being a racist pig and using the N word over and over again in a voice mail. When the R that outed him files a formal complaint, the outed R (Rep Frank Arza) calls and leaves racist threatening messages again! You gotta love the self-destruct. It's just beautiful.
Now normally Dems in Florida would blow this opportunity. As a matter of fact, most of them "graciously" (stupidly) accepted his bogus apology when this first came to light in the spring, but not this time. No sireee.... Find out what they did below the fold.
(TX-22) Tonight I Bitch Slapped A Homophobe (Updated) And Won!
Fri Oct 20, 2006 at 06:38:17 PM PDT
This was so much fun, that I just had to share. Tonight I was reading my email in Gmail and noticed an ad at the top that was bashing Nick Lampson running for Delays seat as a liberal. Even more liberal than Hillary.... All toogether now:
OOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo!
Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh no!
So, I clicked the Google Adwords ad and what did I find? Evidence, I said evidence that Nick Lampson wants to destroy marriage and that if he wins, he will surely make homosexuality mandatory for all newborns from this date forward.
Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh no!
Below the fold, I'll tell you about the bitch slap.
The Sickening Thwack of Skull Cracking On Pavement Becomes
Sat Oct 14, 2006 at 10:19:03 PM PDT
the steady wet thump and smack smack smack of splayed skin mixed with brain matter against the concrete sidewalk. Had it not been for the hand on shoulder of my best friend, that is most likely what I would have experienced. Well, experienced is too sensory a word, because the one time I lost violent control of myself there was no immediate experience. It was a delicious flash of overwhelming electricity. No thoughts entered or exited my brain just a constant rage, blinding and almost coma like. Exhilirating.
Upon waking up from my friends pull, I was sickened by what I had become, by what I was capable of doing. Killing would have been easy in that moment. The reason for it was related to love/anger, jealousy, insecurity and so much more, but the details are not important.
How this relates to us below...
(FL-18) She Knew. She had to know. (with poll) He knew too and so did he and she and ....
Fri Oct 06, 2006 at 06:38:40 AM PDT
I am convinced that Ileana Ros-Lehtinen(FL-18) and just about every Republican member of Congress knew about Foley. If the Pages were warned by staff, that means every damn person in that Congress knew the problem with Foley and it means that my congress person knew and probably joked about it and she did nothing about it.
How do we corner them on it? Sure it makes sense to ask the will you support Hastert question, but the first question that needs to be asked is when did you know and what did you do about it. Push Poll?
If you knew your Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen knew about the molestation of Pages by Congressman Foley would you be less likely to vote for her.
Miami Herald:
It's rumored that you knew... is that true? When did you know? What did you do about the problem?
[PHOTO] ABC Lies - Full Page Ad Says Based on 9/11 Commission
Fri Sep 08, 2006 at 09:56:52 AM PDT
I did a search to see if anyone covered this and could not find it. Will delete if so.
ABC is now claiming that 9/11 commission is only part of the basis for the movie, but according to the full page ad in my Miami Herald today, they aren't saying that.
"Based On The 9/11 Commission Report"
reads the headline for the ad.

They are trying to sell lies as fact. We know their agenda and this ad says clearly that they are out to sell this as fact. Call Bullshit!
A Kindler Gentler Terrorist Fear Campaign? How the Rethugs Will Use Terror in The Midterms
Mon Mar 13, 2006 at 07:43:04 PM PDT
I have been wondering how the Rethugs will use their fear tactics in order to sway voters during this election. There is no way they could credibly use the color alert system, because no matter how incompetent the press may be, they are likely to call bullshit on that tactic. They could lie about threat levels, without raising the color level. They could arrest someone... All of these things smack of political grandstanding and will be too obvious.
So, how will they do it you ask? It's so obvious that we should have thought of it long ago and I don't know if there is anything we can do about it.

Mr. President will Ariel Sharon Go To Hell?
Fri Jan 06, 2006 at 06:11:39 AM PDT
White House Press Conference - the day after the passing of Ariel Sharon.
Brave reporter: Mr. President, according to your religious beliefs, those that have not been saved (accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour) will go to hell. Do you believe that Ariel Sharon is going to hell, since he is a Jew? Do you believe that all Jewish Israelis are going to hell and that in fact every Jew in the world is going to hell?
President: Well John, that is for the Lord to decide.
Brave Reporter: Yes Mr. President, under your religious beliefs that would be the case, but is it or is it not true
3rd N.C. Soldier Dies W/Flu Symptons-109 degrees fever
Thu Feb 17, 2005 at 05:25:45 PM PDT
So, is this depleted uranium?
An attack of some sort on our soldiers with bio weapons?
A new Gulf War Syndrome?
His family said he had symptoms like the flu. He fought it for three weeks, but his fever soared to 106 degrees. The day after Christmas, he died.
"They came out in five minutes and said, 'He's gone,'" said Duane Garton, Clay's father.
According to a preliminary autopsy report, Garton's liver and spleen were swollen. His wife said doctors told her he died from infection.
It is the third recent example of soldiers dying after exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Capt. Gilbert Munoz was a special forces soldier at Fort Bragg who was deployed to the Middle East. After he got back, he died from a bacterial infection.
Sgt. Christopher Rogers was a reservist from Raleigh. He went to Afghanistan. After he came home, his temperature hit 109 degrees. His widow, Windy Rogers, wonders whether he had what Munoz had.
"Chris was admitted with flu-like symptoms. Whatever it was, it shut all of his organs down -- shut them all down -- and I want to know what happened," she said.
Young Partying Evangelicals(scantily clad) That Oppose Bush - Photo
Fri Dec 10, 2004 at 06:57:24 AM PDT
Salon has an
interesting piece(subscription or view an ad) up today about a new breed of evangelist. These are young folks that travel to party spots and try to spread christianity to folks that are partying on ecstacy, coke, and booze. I expected a piece about a bunch of born again Republicans trying to forcefully convert people and espousing the evils of their party lifestyle. What I found was quite different.
Scantily clad evangelicals that actually party and drink a little after their day is completed is pretty unusual in my book.

New Citizen Proudly Casts Her First Vote For Kerry
Tue Nov 02, 2004 at 12:09:46 PM PDT
Went into Eckerds to pick up some supplies with my friend. As we waited in line to pay, the woman behind the counter said with a thick accent, "I like you". We looked at each other smiled and asked why? She said because today I voted for the first time since I got my citizenship for the same great man and pointed to my John Kerry button. She was beaming with pride. She was glowing and you could just sense the excitement in her voice.
