Extending an olive branch
Tue May 13, 2008 at 10:26:03 AM PDT
OK, we all know that we need to extend an olive branch to Hillary Clinton supporters who are feeling hurt and aggrieved right now. It doesn't help that there are a lot of sexist comments here on dKos. Yes, I know a lot of these comments are hide rated. (I know that because I'm one of the ones hide rating them.)
We also know that the hurt and negativity has gone both ways. I don't think it's constructive to re-hash all the arguments for and against whether this or that comment was a sign of sexism or racism. Bringing all that up is just going to rub the wound raw.
So, how to heal?
What's on HillaryHub?
Sun May 11, 2008 at 09:53:35 AM PDT
A lot of people have been making the case here that Hillary Clinton supporters will need to be wooed back into the Democratic fold if they are to vote in November, and that we Kossacks can play a part by being honest and respectful of them.
However, the candidate's campaign might want to do a little bit of that itself when it comes to their home website.
Briefly: HillaryClinton.com is in the business of fooling its visitors and leading them to anti-Obama smear websites.
How Clinton might win (it's a long shot)

A lot of pro-Clinton blogs are making much of this article by Jay Cost which maps out a plausible path to the nomination for Hillary Clinton.
I'd like to take a look at an older post by Digby, a look at Cost's article, and what it means for Clinton's current aggressive campaigning.
Dean Expects Primary Loser to Support Nominee
Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 09:39:26 PM PDT
Don't know if this has been diaried before, but Howard Dean said something pretty important on "Meet The Press" about what needs to be done to heal the party once a clear nominee has emerged.
It's important, because it breaks against arguments advanced from both Hillary and Obama supporters, and we as a community need to acknowledge that Howard Dean has a clear-eyed view of the process of healing, having gone through it himself.
How did Obama "take Fox on"? [Updated]
Sun Apr 27, 2008 at 11:59:56 AM PDT
What a difference a Fox interview makes! Like many Kossacks, my first exposure to Obama's interview this morning with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday was reading through the live-blogging and comments on this thread (Thanks, mselite!). Apart from some early anxiety over how smart or dumb a move this was on the part of Obama, the overall consensus appeared to be positive. (But then, we Obama Kossacks are just mindless cultists...)
However, look a little further afield, and you'll see that many liberal bloggers are having babies. (No, I'm not going to visit anti-Obama sites.) What are some of them talking about, and why have they gone cold on Obama?

Everybody runs on their biography

A whole lot of people are caught up playing "What If..." games, and trying to bend the time-space continuum to predict silly hypotheticals. What If ... Obama were John Edwards? Well, then ... he would have got further, faster. Or not.
Look, nobody knows. That's why we've got the anthropic principle to fall back on. Briefly put, things are the way they are because of the way they are.
In other words, Ferraro made a tenuous point in a terrible (and possible cynical) way. I want to look at that point, suggest where she goes wrong, and suggest what everyone's missing.
Hillary's debate strategy - a theory
Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 09:49:59 AM PDT
If you think the nomination is sewn up for Obama, don't think too fast. Hillary had a chance last debate to turn it around in the debate, but wasn't able to. This time, she's got a better prep strategy.
Or at least, that's what I think. Feel free to read the theory and critique it below.
Idiot Kossacks fooling themselves about Obama

You stupid Obamaniacs have no idea about THE FACTS. Here are some that cannot be indisputed. Read em and weep:
When you p*** off Glenn Greenwald...
Sun Jan 27, 2008 at 07:45:54 AM PDT
...you know you've got a problem.
After refraining from commenting on the primary race since it began, Glenn Greenwald finally speaks up. Why? Because the big dog made him.
Clinton v Obama - The battle, it is good
Fri Jan 25, 2008 at 04:56:05 AM PDT
I know a lot of my fellow Obama supporters think that the Clintons' attacks on him have been unfair and that they should be forced to stop. And many are happy that Obama is crying foul and trying to work the refs (just as Bill Clinton is, I might add). I used to think along the same lines, but recently I've begun to see the Clinton attacks as a good thing.
Obama strategy: humor
Thu Jan 24, 2008 at 05:44:16 AM PDT
OK, here's the thing. I think Obama has let the Clintons really get under his skin, and it's beginning to affect the way he comes across with the press. He's starting to sound a little peeved and paranoid.
