Please help me out.  I'm at work so I don't have time to do much research, but I'm listening to the podcast  of last night's Randi Rhodes Show (on Nova M)  She had Jonathan Alter on to talk about FISA.  Johnathan's take on the current FISA bill was that it is re-instating the 4th Amendment.  That while the Congress was on break last August, the administration issued a warning that a terrorist attack was imminent and emergency legislation was needed to allow them to spy domestically without ANY restrictions, including the meager ones in place from FISA & the Patriot Act.

In my first Fitness Monday Diary I asked YOU to choose.  YOU the reader chose the topic of this, my second Fitness Monday diary.  And after three long weeks of mildly grueling research, at a staggering cost of $5.97; I bring you in this new hi-def Daily Kos diary on nutrition.

(I really need to stop reading Cheers & Jeers while watching BBC’s Planet Earth series, and yes I did spend $5 on a nutrition book I found at a tag sale.  The .97 is for the Twinkie brand, non-nutritional-food-like-substance I purchased and consumed immediately afterward.)

Ok, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's New Year's resolution is to get in shape. (What's wrong with round?  Round is a shape.)

I have little in the way of fitness credentials.  I'm not a personal trainer or dietitian, etc.  In fact my job involves the health of plants much more than the health of people, and if I were in top shape I probably wouldn't be looking for support here.  However, I've played sports for as long as I can remember, I coach a high school rugby team, I've been in and out of shape several times, and I know what works for me; maybe it'll help you out too.  If I'm wrong I hope someone will correct me, that's part of why I'm here too; to learn.

Fitness on Kos?  I know it's a political blog, but one of the things I love about it is that its a community of people from all walks of life, with all different backgrounds, and expertises.  We've come together to improve our political system, our minds, & the world around us; why not join me after the flip and improve our bodies too.

I was just checking my email before going to bed when I read a mass email from my Senator, Bill Nelson (D-FL).

Dear Friends,

I spent most of August on a statewide tour of Florida so I could hear directly from residents and local officials about the issues that concern them most....

Enough!: Orlando - SCREW YOU PAT BENATAR! SCREW YOU! edition.

If you haven't read it yet, please check out Wino's diary.  I give him props for being the first one out there, the first one there every week, and just being plain tenacious about spreading the word.

We dropped one this week, only 4 while we had 5 last week.  It's ok, more will come.  There's no doubt in my mind; something's wrong with our government and people are starting to wake up.

Sunday I stood on a corner, here in Orlando, for an hour with several cool people, holding a sign simply saying "ENOUGH!".  A lot of people asked us "Enough what?" and that got me thinking of what Enough! means to me.

Finally I was able to get out there and tell the world that I've had Enough!
It felt good.

I diaried yesterday about Enough! in Orlando and it fell off the recent diary list pretty quickly.

Ok Orlando.  Lets try this again.

I've been looking for some way to speak out.  Some way to let my frustration  known to the world.  I've been looking for a good protest here in Orlando, FL.

I know Code Pink is active in Orlando, and though I haven't gotten involved with them, I respect their cause.  However, as much as I'm outraged about the war; I'm outraged about the incompetence, negligence, and outright maliciousness with which this administration has been running rough-shod over the constitution.

Finally, I've had Enough.

Wesly Clark Jr.'s post here at Kos, 'Had Enough?', is to me a call to arms.  A call for action.

So, after reading about Bush’s blatant disregard for the checks and balances written into the Constitution, I decided to take a couple of minutes to give my Congress-critter and Representatives a call; just a quick, friendly "Hello."

BREAKING: Washington DC - A top presidential aid leaked earlier today that President Bush has been meeting with a committee of spiritual and moral advisers on the topics of show trials, and torture.

The following is a letter that I will be sending both by email and by snail mail to my representatives.  Please feel free to use any or all of it to do the same.  We need to let our representatives know that; NO, AMERICA DOES NOT TORTURE!
