I can't wait for Al tonight. And yes indeed we need to stay focused in these last few critical days/hours of the election season. But micro-breaks are healthy for maintaining focus, especially when they involve using different parts of the brain. The following was an extra credit addendum to my final examination in a sophomore Logic and Philosophy course.

WOW: Diebold and the SECRET Unredacted SAIC Report

Maryland's second major evaluation of electronic voting technology took place in 2003 and was contracted to be performed by Science Applications International Corporation. The officially published report was merely 38 pages whereas the original, unredacted document (with appendices) was a full 193 pages. That's quite a striking difference between what the Governor of Maryland was given (redacted) and what State Board of Elections Administrator Linda Lamone received directly from SAIC.

Here's an interesting, recent story for those that seem to think that ATMs are inordinately secure and essentially bulletproof. It comes from renowned computer security expert Bruce Schneier. Anyone who even dabbles in cryptography should recognize that name.
