Bush TANG documents possibly altered

Expanding the AWOL issue to general credibility (w/poll)

Thu Sep 09, 2004 at 10:12:55 AM PDT

It is becoming ever clearer that Bush did not fulfill his duties in TANG, ca. 1972-73; it is also becoming clearer that the Bushies have not come clean in regards to available records documenting this period of his "service", and have in fact attempted to distort perception by stating that he had to have followed proper protocols, otherwise he never would have been honorably discharged.  In light of the evidence now coming out, it is also becoming clearer that he was assisted by powerful benefactors in the state of Texas in both getting him one of the prized slots in TANG, and then in protecting his service records from blemishes regarding his drill attendance and performance conduct.

Time to Get Mobilized

Fri Sep 03, 2004 at 11:45:14 AM PDT

We have 60-days until the election.  Here is my One-Man / Six-Point Plan (posted previously) for electing KE04:

1.)  I have devoted the back of my car with KE04 & anti-Bush bumper stickers.  I have never been a bumper-sticker hound, but I remind myself that Clear Channel, FAUX, CNN, and others are available for BushCo, so we have to even the playing field where we can.  People have died for our country in wars fro freedom, for the right to unionize, for civil rights and voting rights to blacks in the South and latino farm workers and asian immigrants in the West - if they can give that, then I can put a few stickers on my car and live with looking like a Freak for America.  Afterall, I'm just fighting for my country - what's wrong with that?

(2.)  Since my vehicle is advertising KE04, I encounter people in parking lots who either support me or want to argue - so I keep a portable file in my car to hold photocopies of articles from Krugman, Ivins, TruthOut.com, etc.  I go to the KE04 website and print copies of the healthcare plan, the energy independence initiative, and anti-Swift Boat flowchart materials, and I will print and copy more articles that come out which support KE04 and undermine BushCo.

(3.)  I have sheets printed with the website addresses of all of the different internet websites I use while following this election;

(4.)  I have volunteered my time with the Democratic Party headquarters in my city (Tucson, AZ) and will maintain materials in my vehicle that state the Democratic Party's case on the major issues.

(5.)  I will confront BushCo supporters in a civil and polite manner and inquire as to their reasons for supporting this adminsitration.  I will keep myself versed on the GOP talking points and will do my best to be prepared to provide counter-arguments as I am able.  As best as I can, I will avoid loud confrontations by smiling, and thanking them for their time - BUT I will break out serious whip-ass on anyone who tries to get nasty with me because I'm a guy who knows his facts.

(6.)  I will keep copies of key sections from the books by the following authors handy, and will be prepared to distribute them to people:

a.  James Carville
b.  Greg Palast
c.  David Brock
d.  Al Franken
e.  Paul O'Neill
f.  Richard Clark
g.  Joe Wilson
h.  Bill Clinton
i.  Hillary Clinton
j.  Molly Ivins

ALSO - just as a general rule, I am shifting to a more pro-KE04 and pro-DEM tone to encourage people to look at their ideas and arguments.  Bashing Bush still feels good, but winning over voters requires the infusion of positive energy.

C'mon folks, lets get moving - the elections this fall won't win themselves!

I went to my local post office today on company business.  They have a wall-mounted televison in the window clerk area, and normally they have the station tuned to CNN.  Today, however, it was tuned to FAUX News - when I asked the clerk why the change from CNN, she looked at me funny and replied "I wasn't aware of any change in our courtesy news coverage".  I asked who would make the decision for changing the type of televised news source, and I was told the station manager - and she would not give me that person's name.

Please use the link above to contact the USPS and tell them you object to broadcasting FAUX News in postal sations.  You can email them by using the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the page.

MSNBC poll - Is Kerry Ready To Be Presdient? 62% say HELL, YEAH!

My one-man Kerry Campaign - you can do it, too! (w/ poll)

Fri Jul 30, 2004 at 11:10:03 AM PDT

Here is the outline for my personal K-E04 campaign:

(1.)  I drive a Chevy Tahoe - every square inch of the back of this vehicle is being devoted to K-E04 & anti-Bush bumper stickers.  The comments I receive run 15:1 favorable, but the BushCo supporters are aggressive and obnoxious.  However, I'm a good sized guy, and I have no problem telling someone to support their V.P.'s policies, and go f*ck themselves.  I have never been a bumper-sticker hound, but I remind myself EVERY DAY that Clear Channel is available for BushCo, so I gotta even the field any way I can.  People have died for our country in war, for the right to unionize, for civil rights and voting rights to blacks in the South and farm workers in the West - if they can give that, I can put a few stickers on my car and live with looking like a Freak for America.  Afterall, I'm just fighting for my country - what's wrong with that?

(2.)  In the back of my vehicle, I will keep a portable file holder for hanging file folders.  In these folders, I will keep photociopies of articles from Krugman, Ivins, TruthOut, etc.  I will be following the news media and will print and copy more articles that come out which illustrate the lies of BushCo since and before January, 2001.

(3.)  I will prepare sheets with the website addresses of all of the different internet websites I use in following this election.

(4.)  I will change my voter registration from IND to DEM, and I will volunteer my time with the Democratic Party headquarters in my city (Tucson, AZ) and will maintain materials in my vehicle that state the Democratic Party's case on the major issues.

(5.)  I will confront BushCo supporters in a civil and polite manner and inquire as to their reasons for supporting this adminsitration.  I will keep myself versed on the GOP talking points and will do my best to be prepared to provide counter-arguments as I am able.  I WILL NEVER RESORT TO SHOUTING OR VIOLENCE IN THESE CONFRONTATIONS - if tension gets too much with these people, I will smile, thank them for being active in the political process, and leave.

(6.)  I will keep copies of the books by the following authors handy, and will be prepared to introduce people to them:

a.  James Carville
b.  Greg Palast
c.  David Brock
d.  Al Franken
e.  Paul O'Neill
f.  Richard Clark
g.  Joe Wilson
h.  Bill Clinton
i.  Hillary Clinton
j.  Molly Ivins

That's a pretty good start, IMHO.  I can doably maintain all of these efforts unitl Nov. 2, 2004, and invite any and all comments and suggestions - namely, internet resources and books by authors not mentioned above.

5 Red States from 2000 show KE-04 ahead (w/poll)

Thu Jul 29, 2004 at 12:50:29 PM PDT

http://www.geocities.com/samboni1342/state_polls.htm

TN (ZOGBY 07/23 - MoE 3.5%)...KERRY=49 / BUSH=47

MO (ZOGBY 07/23 - MoE 3.1%)...KERRY=49 / BUSH=48

W.VA (ARG 07/28 - MoE 4.3%)...KERRY=47 / BUSH=44

NH (ZOGBY 07/23 - MoE 4.4%)...KERRY=47 / BUSH=43

AZ (Az St Univ 07/18-MoE 4%)..KERRY=42 / BUSH=41

However, all within MoE, which makes the August fundraising and spending limits look all the more ominous.

BUT - combine this with solidifying numbers in states that barely went Gore in 2000 (MN, NM, OR, PA - all trendng solidly into higher margins for Kerry)

AND - combine this with consistently improved numbers for AR, CO & NC & SC over 2000 results, as well as the lack of progress for the GOP in WI, MN, & IA despite the resources poured into those state campaigns, real progress is being shown, inch-by-bloody-inch, across the country.

Again, August campaigning will be crucial - KE04 will be under restrictions, while BushCo can both raise and spend at will.  The 527's like MoveOn & ACT will play an important role in keeping public eye focused on BushCo lies and ineptitude, while they run pictures of Kerry in clean suits, promote O'Neill's hatchet job that is being shilled by Drudge, and use Goebbels tactics via Murdoch, Scaife, Novak, Safire, Will, Krauthammer, O'Reilly, Scarborough, Miller, Limbaugh, Savage, & Coulter to coordinate synchronized actions with BushCo's White House.

Get ready, folks - we're in Helms Deep, and the Orcs are coming from as far as the eyes can see.

This was a non-televised political rally, right?  They do know that she despises Bush, right?  That she is an American adult protected by the First Amendment, right? Obviously, they do - but as they are headquartered in FL, I guess they're too chickenshit to put up with the heat they Jebbie has been tossing at them.

Sea-Changing America's Policies for Foreign Oil

Wed May 12, 2004 at 02:40:00 PM PDT

We all pretty much agree that underneath the endless lies and psuedo-patriotic propoganda  used by both Bush pere and now Bush fils, the REAL reason the U.S. has been at war with Iraq is OIL.  As liberal and progressive Americans, we despise the seemingly endless cycle of warfare that our petro-lust has propelled us into, but we also realize that the current state of industrialization so vital to the economies of the world pretty much requires petroleum until alternative fuels can be developed to replace it.  The U.S. seems unwilling to forge consistent national policy toward the Middle East region that aligns us with the interests of the Arab-Muslims, and we have in fact been the major advocate for Israel; yet, we still need their oil, and it seems that GOP administrations would have us do anything to get it...other than replacing President, which is only a stop-gap solution at best, what can we do?

Defining the Choice America Faces in '04

Wed May 05, 2004 at 03:08:49 PM PDT

I propose a new frame for presenting the picture that America faces this fall, predicated upon a simple premise:  Our national institutes of politics and commerce stand in contradiction to one another, and we need to decide if we want to DEMOCRATIZE our COMMERCE, (or) CORPORATIZE our POLITICS.

Emory Univ. slash 25% from cost estimates on Kerry's health plan

Fri Apr 02, 2004 at 09:06:42 PM PDT

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040402/ap_on_el_pr/kerry_health_care&cid =536&ncid=536

I hope this link works - Kenneth Thorpe, a respected health policy adviser out of Emory Univ. in Atlanta has released detailed analysis that states lower projected costs of Kerry's health plan proposal from the $900 billion figure used in recent BushCo ads to a much more modest $650 billion, a whopping 25% reduction.

Dangerous Irrelevance

Thu Apr 01, 2004 at 03:31:00 PM PDT

http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,3604,1183336,00.html

I provide the link above to make a point; I have been visiting this site for a short time, and I am deeply impressed by the breadth of knowledge and committment to issues exhibited by the patrons of this site.  I have posted a few items in diary form and have received numerous comments regarding my posts, but the lack of information as to how people can either organize or join up to voice outrage and opposition to this administration on a national level is troubling.
The free-form design of how comments and links are posted to this site is important - but the neo-fascists are on top right now because they focus and direct their attacks in a cohesive manner, and it's time we got focused, got busy, and let everyone else know how they're making it happen and why.

After reading this article by Sidney Blumenthal, I am ashamed that my disgust with this "man" Bush and his actions at this event has been kept mostly private.  I want to know where I can go to complain to the networks and media organizations that sent attendees to this dinner to laugh at this "man".  I want to know how to direct my screams into the ears of those who are responsible for the shame I feel as an American, and I want to point the finger at those people who attenended this event and laughed at jokes that ignore the outrage of what is taking place in our names.

In short, I need help to get mad as hell and to not take it anymore.

2004 Democratic campaign strategy at X-roads

Tue Mar 30, 2004 at 08:21:38 PM PDT

While Kerry is forced to hit the road in search of campaign dollars, and has of yet not picked a running mate, BushCo basically has run of the campaign as they start burning some ammo on aerial assaults in "defining" Kerry.  With so much ammo (read $$$) in their arsenal, they can afford to throw as much sh*t as they can, knowing that some is certain to stick in the minds of voters.  Meanwhile, the highly promising fissures we have been noting in the GOP ranks will undoubtedly close up in such an important election season and start falling into line in order to preserve GOP majorities in the White House and Congress.  In spite of our best hopes, we WILL face a united, well-funded GOP that will use the trial-and-error process to find those themes that will strike fear in the hearts of voters in swing states, reducing serious, thoughtful discussion on important issues to idiotic sound bites and distorted imagery.
