IowaIndependent:  Richardson to Direct Supporters to Obama

Wed Jan 02, 2008 at 10:09:26 PM PDT

[I apologize for posting a short diary, but it doesn't look like this has been blogged on this site yet.]

Iowa Independent just released an "exclusive" report that Barack Obama and Bill Richardson will ask their supporters to support the other if they do not reach the 15% threshold in the caucuses tomorrow.

The Lesson of Corzine:  Wear your seatbelt!!

Thu Apr 12, 2007 at 11:40:06 PM PDT

First, my best wishes that Gov. Corzine has a full and speedy recovery; he needs all the support he can get right now.

However, I was shocked at this sentence in the New York Times article on his car accident today:

Mr. Fuentes said he was unsure whether Mr. Corzine was wearing a seatbelt; he often does not.

He often does not wear his seat belt?!?!

Broken:  Kucinich will run for President

Mon Dec 11, 2006 at 07:35:53 PM PDT

Dennis Kucinich will announce tomorrow that he will run for President in 2008.  He says he will run because "his party isn't pushing hard enough to end the Iraq war."

''Democrats were swept into power on Nov. 7 because of widespread voter discontent with the war in Iraq,'' said Kucinich, 60. ''Instead of heeding those concerns and responding with a strong and immediate change in policies and direction, the Democratic congressional leadership seems inclined to continue funding the perpetuation of the war.''

What are your thoughts about Dennis running?

The Improbable Senate

Sat Nov 11, 2006 at 01:04:19 PM PDT

The Democratic takeover of the Senate was quite improbable for two reasons.  The first has been discussed by many:  of the 33 seats up for election this year, 18 were already held by Democrats, leaving only 15 Republican targets.

But what about the second reason?
