Open Letter To Democratic Presidential Candidates
Thu Nov 01, 2007 at 08:24:57 AM PDT
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
That's the Constitutionally mandated Oath of Office that one of you will be taking in January of '09 (at least that's the plan right now).
And here's another snippet of that Constitution (the 1st Amendment for those of you that don't recognize it):
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Under Budget? WTF?

FLASH: Drudge Compares Colbert Viewer Numbers To ALL OF FOX NEWS
Tue May 02, 2006 at 03:29:28 PM PDT
Drudgereport 4:28PM MST:
FLASH: Colbert averaging just over one million viewers a night, year to date (1,077,000] on COMEDY CENTRAL, which is less than FOXNEWS's 6-11pm line-up...
Comparing 1 1/2 hour comnedy show to a 5 hour lineup of a major news channel? That can mean only one thing:
The Colbert Report has almost as many viewers as the entire Fox lineup. Why else would Drudge not publish the numbers.
Dear Mr. President,

How are you? I am fine. Now that you're not sleeping well and I am.
How's your dad? He seems like a nice guy (except when he wanted us to watch his lips - that was kinda creepy)? It's funny isn't it, how dad seems to end up always being right. Heck, I'm just a year or two younger than you and although my dad's no longer around, he's still right, (dammit! ;-)
Habeas Corpus
Thu Nov 10, 2005 at 05:52:48 PM PDT
Did
this slip by?
The Bush Administration, through an amendment introduced by South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, has just successfully stripped federal courts of jurisdiction to hear applications for habeas corpus brought by those unilaterally declared enemy combatants without any process and held by the U.S. indefinitely throughout the world and even in the United States. This was accomplished by means of a last minute amendment to the Military Authorization Bill, brought up on the floor of the Senate without committee deliberations and virtually no advance warning to the American people that it was happening.
Let's not get so involved in watching the implosions and disarray that we miss the what the other hand is doing.
