Katrina-The Abandonment of New Orleans (Photos)
Fri Aug 11, 2006 at 01:25:08 AM PDT

The one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is August 29th. As a tribute to those who suffered the storm and our Government's neglect, I'd like to share photos I've gathered from the internet.
The abandonment of the Gulf Coast by our Government in the aftermath of Katrina affected me deeply. I believe it was a tipping point in America's view of the Bush administration, and the Republican Party in general.
Katrina not only damaged the Gulf Coast, it damaged the soul of America. I still feel so ashamed of the neglectful treatment the victims of the storm suffered, and I'll never forget the shock and impotent rage I felt watching Katrina unfold. I am still not over it!
Compiling the many photos for this diary was difficult emotionally. This is a very disturbing collection of images, but the truth and realities they contain desperately need to be faced by our nation.
Highlights from G8 or The Incredible Shrinking President

The G8 Summit started out well...
Unfortunately George's mission was seriously
hampered when he suffered an attack of ISPD
(incredible Shrinking President Disorder) an
illness that has plagued Mr. Bush for almost
6 years.

EMBRACING OUR FIGHTING SPIRIT
Many Republicans criticize with righteous indignation the Democrats they see as angry, or hostile, those they perceive to be lacking a compromising spirit. Those of us in political office or otherwise who are willing to stand up to the Republican's agenda are harshly and angrily condemned, characterized as "Rabid Lambs".
David Brooks reads "Crashing The Gate" (Satire)

It appears David Brooks, Op-Ed columnist of The New York Times, and Author of the recent New York Times column "Respect must be paid" published on June 25th 2006, has had an amazing turn around in his view of Markos Moulitsas Zúniga and the Daily Kos Blog.
Kerry Camp fights back
Thu Jun 15, 2006 at 05:27:09 PM PDT
Karl Rove is up to his old tricks again as he responds to Senator John Kerry
and Representative John Murtha's suggested plans to exit Iraq. His pathetic
ranting is just another well worn attempt to portray Democratic leaders as
weaklings and cowards, as reported by-Raw Story. Amazing given the fact
that both Kerry and Murtha have served in our Military with honor. Unlike oh,
you know, that tough guy Karl Rove, or so many others in the Bush administration.
I'd list them but it would take too long.
Exclusive photos: Yearlykos convention infiltrated

I was unable to attend the Yearlykos convention,
however I have come into the possession of exclusive photos which suggest
the convention may have been infiltrated by a representative of the
Republican party.
Letter to former Bush supporters...you know who you are

We need to talk...first, quit hiding in the bushes. Ok, things haven't been great lately, you've been through a lot. First the denial, overlooking mounting evidence that the idiot you helped elect has been destroying our country. It's not easy to ignore something that big, talk about your elephant in the room.
