Christopher Hitchens killed this kid
Fri Oct 05, 2007 at 09:53:59 AM PDT
And, that's ok, Hitchens says, because the boy felt he was doing some good.
Having volunteered for Iraq, Mark Daily was killed in January by an I.E.D. Dismayed to learn that his pro-war articles helped persuade Daily to enlist, the author measures his words against a family's grief and a young man's sacrifice....
What Bremer Got Right in Iraq (he says)

Pretty much everything.
Everything that went wrong, everything, is the Iraqis' fault.
Making An Inconvenient Truth Convenient to Get To: A Moral Imperative
Sun Oct 08, 2006 at 09:27:00 AM PDT
Inspired by the thought that "People of most faith traditions are called to love one another and to be responsible stewards of God's creation. ... Global warming is not a political issue; it is a moral issue.", a local church group has blitzed our community with multiple showings of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. They presented it on several school days right after school at a church just down the block from the middle school, and on several nights as well. They made An Inconvenient Truth convenient to get to at least.
More media consolidation: Warner owns YouTube
Mon Sep 18, 2006 at 02:01:10 PM PDT
YouTube, Warner Music Group sign on the dotted line. Internet video phenom YouTube Inc. has scored a landmark deal to distribute music videos from the vaults of Warner Music Group Corp. (WMG).
The deal gives Warner the right to review posted videos to determine if they violate Warner's copyright. Couldn't be that blackmail helped make this deal go down, could it?
Mother Wants Dead Son Off Anti-War Shirt: and other t-shirt-related incidents
Mon Jul 24, 2006 at 11:50:15 PM PDT
Judy Vincent, mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, learned last year that Cpl. Scott M. Vincent's name is among about 1,700 on a t-shirt that reads 'Bush Lied' and 'They Died.'
She pushed for an Oklahoma a law making it a misdemeanor to use a soldier's name or likeness without consent. The law goes into effect this November. U.S. Rep. Dan Boren, D-Okla., introduced a similar bill in Congress two weeks ago...
The shirt vendor "has the right to voice his opinion, as we all do," Vincent says. "But I do believe the First Amendment stops when you use a person's name or likeness to make a profit. ..."

Wants Dead Son Off Anti-War Shirt
For a while it seemed that the battle was to make sure that t-shirts not supportive of the Bush administration and/or the war in Iraq were not on public display. But now that the hypocrisy of the fight to remove t-shirts from the backs of their wearers has been exposed, the battle to control what t-shirts say and which are produced begins.
So if you leak classified information to a journalist and you know that the info is false...
Sun Apr 09, 2006 at 01:07:03 PM PDT
... Then, it isn't really leaking isn't it?
It's more like lying to the press.
Since BushCo do it all the time, it's not against the law, right?
Because by definition, nothing the President does or authorizes is against the law.
Fax to Filibuster Alito
Sun Jan 29, 2006 at 04:58:49 PM PDT
Alito is NOT ABOUT abortion. Bush cares NOTHING about stopping abortion.
Alito is about giving Bush permission to illegally wiretap.
Alito is about giving Bush permission to torture people who are still presumed to be innocent (they haven't even been indicted, let alone convicted).
Alito is about preventing investigation of executive privilege abused.
I understand that the filibuster is not a tool to be used trivially. Alito is not a trivial threat. Senators should stand up for our Senate, stand up for the Constitution, and stand up for us. They must filibuster Samuel Alito's nomination to the United States Supreme Court.
People nowadays just don't know their place.

Click here to see CAP poster....
Now let me get this straight. He joined CAP but he didn't really join it and even if he did join it, which he said he did on the job application, he didn't do anything while he was in it, which he probably was because he said he was in it on the application, but maybe he meant to join it but forgot, or maybe he did join it, but then he forgot after he remembered to put it on the job application.
Seems like there are many right-wing reasons for a terrible assault
Tue Dec 13, 2005 at 10:23:46 PM PDT
on US territory in the next half year or so ....
The Wall Street Journal cites another one:
"We realize that our views on this subject won't carry the day, at least not until the U.S. suffers a more serious attack."

So whatdya think it will be? O'Reilly has already endorsed the fire bombing of San Francisco. That's another city that's way full of people who vote the wrong way.

Bush estimates that 30,000 Iraqis have been killed
Mon Dec 12, 2005 at 01:17:31 PM PDT
in the American occupation of Iraq and the resulting insurgency.
And, that's how it's being reported pretty much everywhere. "President Bush offered encouragement to war-weary Iraqis on Monday but acknowledged they have paid a heavy price 30,000 dead as a result of the U.S.-led invasion and its bloody aftermath."
So, where did he get this number from? Are there estimates from other sources that are more -- reality-based?
