A question for LieberDems

Tue Aug 01, 2006 at 10:17:04 AM PDT

Digby posed a rhetorical question the other day, and I've been scouring the tubes for an answer, but haven't yet found one. Since I've seen quite a few LieberDefenders in the comment threads, I thought I'd ask it here:

What good has Lieberman's bipartisanship done the Democratic Party?
Why, exactly, does Lieberman feel entitled to demand the absolute loyalty from the party that he won't give to it?
And why do the Grand Satraps of Beltway Establishment Gasbaggery agree with him?

A half-step in support of Feingold

Okay, I've never done this before, but I had an idea today that I'm trying to push. Crooks and Liars has a clip from a new piece of Demogoguery about Russ Feingold's censure motion, saying the crazy Dems want to censure the President for 'fighting terrorism." It seems to me this little bit of dishonesty is a good place to draw a preliminary line in the sand. Call your timid Dem senators, like my own Ken-doll Salazar (he's not anatomically complete) and urge them to at the very least strongly condemn the divisive dishonesty of this ad. It's a small step, that's why I think Reid, Clinton, Kerry et al might actually be willing to take it if we encourage them a little. I think we ought to do what we can to change the media's vocabulary on this subject, and not let Ken and Karl's meme take hold.

Thanks.
