URGENT:
Myanmar Cyclone Nargis Disaster
Pass far and Wide - Forward
Dear Friends:
Estimates are that more than 100,000 people have lost their lives to cyclone Nargis.
We are rapidly mobilizing for a trip into Myanmar to work in a relief effort there.
Knowledge of the region and local languages is an immediate plus.
We will be traveling with another group, leaving in a few days.
For this effort we need $4000 to cover travel expenses and help with aid supplies.

Press Release:

Feb 27, 2008

I have filed a case against the Government of Thailand with the International Criminal Court in the Hague, charging the Government of Thailand with the crime of Genocide against the Akha people.

Thailand's New Drug War 4,000

Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 07:49:20 PM PDT

Thailand's Samak and Charlerm are promising a 4,000 dead drug war sometime soon, and with the US giving all the money for weapons and IMET training now that there is a "democratic government" we can assume it will go much higher.

Akha Freedom Bus Found

Tue Jan 29, 2008 at 05:56:01 PM PDT

Finally after a month of delays we have found the Akha Freedom Bus for the trip across the US. We will be using this support vehicle as a huge billboard for the Akha cause, as well as for Michu and the children and volunteers to travel in when they are not riding.

www.akha.org has the recent pics of the bus.

However, I will be riding full time, except for time in evenings used to post videos of the journey each day or as often as we can do that.

It is crucial to bring attention to the US Public how US policy affects the Akha.

We note that the US Military aid to Thailand has been $2 billion recently to cover IMET training, and that doesn't include any protections for the Akha or other minorities who suffer at the hands of Thai security forces. The Thai military people are no doubt brought to the US for some of that training.

Akha Ride For Freedom Gaining Steam

Tue Jan 22, 2008 at 10:14:44 AM PDT

The Akha Ride for Freedom, from Lincoln City, Oregon to the UN at new York is gaining steam as donors come on board for the bus that will carry volunteers, family for the trip by horseback across the US. http://www.akha.org

The Akha number some 500,000 in SE Asia but at 70,000 in Thailand they rate as one of the most oppressed groups in the country. The Queen of Thailand has taken large swaths of Akha land, condemned at the UN level, and driving the Akha into unprecedented poverty. The land is converted to flower farms for rich tourists and mono crop pine plantations.

Akha Bus: Ride for Freedom

Sat Dec 29, 2007 at 05:19:50 PM PDT

From Lincoln City, Oregon to the UN at New York on a horse called Hampton with a group of family and volunteers.

You can make a difference....

DNA and Fathers, Can you Hear the Hissing now?

Fri May 05, 2006 at 10:21:49 PM PDT

I can hear the hissing already, women saying that the father has nothing to do with who should pay the bills.

Yes, a law, in the land of sue, that says that if you are not the father you don't pay for the children of dead beat women.

Love them, sure, pay for them voluntarily sure, but no fucking law that says that when a woman goes out and gets knocked up by someone other than her husband, the man she is married to still has to pay for it.

More for men's rights in a country that damned us to hell on visitation with our children and joint custody.

Propaganda, Ethics and Swidden Agriculture
Endless Fables
We would like to make it very clear at the outset that swidden agriculture is one of the most economic means to grow food, and is one of the most environmentally safe ways to grow food.

The basic concept of swidden agriculture is to farm one to three alternate crops (rice / soybeans) on the land and then allow the land to rest for many years, a multiple specie wild thicket coming back, which provide renewal of top soil, plant species, insects and animal life.

After years, the land is then recut, and planted once again. Religious Jewish texts require that land be rested at least once every seven years. The Akha and other mountain farmers rest the land much more than that.

Antonio Maria Costa Has Got to be Out of His Mind

Thu Mar 16, 2006 at 07:43:10 PM PDT

Is Antonio Maria Costa Out of His Mind?

Vienna 2006 Commission on Narcotic Drugs:

"UNODC Director Antonio Maria Costa: No mention of HIV/AIDS. UN Office on Drugs and Crime Director Antonio Maria Costa noted the successes of international drug control in limiting deaths associated with illicit drugs. Strikingly, he did not mention HIV/AIDS. He urged European governments to increase pressure to reduce demand for drugs, and warned that societies have the drug problems they deserve."

Maybe some societies have the drug problems that Antonio Maria Costa and the UNODC forced on them, did he ever think of that?

From our house to yours.

They are free.

Enjoy.

This collection of videos is over several years, the most recent are from northern Laos, where the Akha are dying of starvation and disease.

New York Times Prints PURE STUPIDITY about Opium in Laos

Sun Mar 05, 2006 at 11:21:03 PM PDT

"Out from Under an Opium Cloud"

One doesn't have to guess why the west more often than not has no clue about what is going on in the world. The article of Jeff Koyen of New York, recently published in the New York times and a few other publications makes this glaringly clear.

Just a few days ago, local journalists in Vientiane, Laos, asked the minister in charge of the eradication plan cooperation with the US about the situation in Laos and "rumors" that many people had died as a result of the eradication policy.

So the dirty little secret of the US Govt. and the UNODC is slowly leaking out like the reaking blood of a body in a coffin.

People Should KNOW what their FRIGGIN Govt' is UP to

Sat Mar 04, 2006 at 09:27:27 PM PDT

Two helicopters went down of the coast of Africa. First clue I had that the US was even there.
Summer Pulse 2005.
Huge US Naval operation off coast of China.
7 Aircraft Carrier task forces of a total of 12.

Wow, when I was in the navy during the big Reagan build up for a 700 ship navy, it was 7 and that was a LOT, but 12, sure says a lot about US global expansion intentions.

13 years in Thailand working with the Akha and not a peep out of Laos. Figured I had to get over there. Then I see this one article by a fellow named Tom Fawthrop, about the Akha dying like flies in Laos. So it was time to investigate.

IMPEACH: Pres. Bush is a BIG LIAR

Wed Mar 01, 2006 at 07:47:06 PM PDT

Ten Million people should take their trucks, 4x4's, SUV's, junkers and drive on the capital in DC and demand that this guy be thrown from the building. The RUSSIANS had bigger balls and their boss was less of a CRIMINAL.

March on DC. Throw the bum out.

The news is out, President Bush is a big &$(@# LIAR.

He knew, about Katrina like he knew about 9/11.

This guy should be impeached, then he should be tried, and then he should be punished, preferably with the toughest laws in Texas for murder, negligent homicide, throw the book at him.

A bigger criminal the world has not seen, Saddam, Hitler, make good co defendants.

Get rid of the Liar.

Senlis Council. Opium for Afghanistan. And Laos

"Forced Poppy Eradication Would End Hope for Reconstruction and Security in Afghanistan"

The website of the Senlis Council has a wealth of information on changes in policy regarding opium in Afghanistan.

This writer can not see how the US or anyone else has the right to dictate what people grow. Period.

The Rosetta Project Deletes Akha Language Entry

Fri Jan 27, 2006 at 08:59:51 AM PDT

We have had Akha language information and Akha Language Books on the Rosetta project website for some time.

http://www.rosettaproject.org

A couple of weeks ago we were updating our links and noted that someone had put the Bible book of Genesis up on line, had a link to it.

Not a problem for us, we use a different script but the more work on a language the better.

Well other people didn't see it that way.
We checked today and the Rosetta Project had deleted our entire account, Akha language books and all.

Huaorani: End of the Spear and other Missionary Fictions

Sat Jan 14, 2006 at 09:38:24 PM PDT

The End of the Spear airs on the 20th of January. A propaganda fest movie from the missionaries.

Since Rachel Saint has passed away, this is an endeavor by her nephew Steve Saint.

Rachel Saint was part of a missionary team that went in to see the Huaorani in Ecuador.

The Huaorani were pressed by rubber slavers and explorers for oil. Noteworthy are SIL and CIA connections in this regard.

Akha Chronicles on line, 52 Chapters

Wed Jan 04, 2006 at 02:15:51 AM PDT

We have been working with the Akha mountain people of SE Asia for 15 years.

Now we have a book on line.

Has taken a long time, but I think there is some real interesting reading about the Akha that you can find at
http://www.akha.org/...

The Akha Chronicles. 52 Chapters set up. There are a few granted that are not written out in full, but other chapters run 100 plus pages long.

15 years of events and experiences in the life of the Akha villages.

I have a lot more left to do on it, editing, little snippets that need to be written out, stories that need to be added, more journals and log books that need to be typed in, but it is a work in motion, and it probably will always be seeing more added.
